    Best part of this video is the immediate value to viewer. No stupid warm up or chit chat. Just gets to the point. Well done sir. Well played

    If you haven't discovered it yet (I just got my Gnome today), the "fanny pack" strap is attached via velcro. Pull hard and it'll detach and can be removed. Thanks for the review!

      Someone else mentioned it, thank you. It’s much better without it!

      Ohhhh, was literally just about to ask if that was removable. Reading comments first!! Good to know. Thanks

    Thanks. I have a Tuareg and am shopping for a tank bag. Thanks for explaining how you got the Gnome to fit well.

    Hhmm yea the tank bag situation is tricky on the Tuareg.
    Luggage in general is still a bit tricky. Ordered mine with the pannier rack from Aprilia just to find out they have this stupid cut out in the top bar for some sort of quick release for the panniers from Aprilia or something... had to manufacture some angles from stainless steel to fit my backcountry pannier mounting plates.
    Still looking for a tank bag. I'll keep your solution in mind.
    Though I tend more to the Nomini bag. Don't need much space.

      It is a bit tricky. For fitment on the Tuareg I don’t think it gets better than the Gnome or Nomini. It just takes a little trimming of the gas cap foam ring to make it fit just right. And the Nomini should mount the same as my Gnome. What you’re getting with the Gnome is 1.5L of usable water while riding, otherwise I think the bag is identical. The only downside I can see of having the water bladder is that you periodically have to retighten the straps as you drain down the volume of water being held.

    Thanks for the review, I have the exact bike and have been considering that tank bag, very helpful review.

    The fanny pack strap is just attached in the middle by velcro. You can just yank it out like I did.

      Hey, that’s great! Thanks for the tip!

    Thank you vers much for your vidéo. I will buy the samedi tank bag.
    By the way what kind and brand of crashbar you installed ? Mort of them lire sw motech or aprilia protect the tank but not the lower part of the engine. Many thanks

      You’re welcome. The crashbar is made by Hepco&Becker. In my opinion the H&B is superior to the Aprilia, SW-Motech, and Heed because the crashbar is connected left side to right side at two points (versus one or none with the others) and will better distribute the impact force. I go into detail on this and other accessories in the video listed below. The lower engine guards from Heed are a bad option, in my opinion. When they strike the ground they bend easily and then block the shifter or rear brake lever from being used. A better option would be a sufficient skid plate (like the GP Mucci Skid Thor skid plate) that also holds provides engine protection and won’t disable your bike if you bend metal.

    Unfortunately my pictures of the modified foam pad didn’t attach to the video correctly. Feel free to contact me and I can try to send you pictures if needed.

    Do you still keep the left & right straps hidden under the plastics? I'm curious as the temperature is very high after a long ride, especially on the right side.

    • @lazy-pilot
      @lazy-pilot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, and I haven’t had any issues. I also have completely eliminated the “hot cat” issue when I replaced it with a decat Arrow header pipe. Sorry for the slow response, it’s been a busy move from Colorado to Arizona this summer.

    Where you buy the barkbuster ?

    • @lazy-pilot
      @lazy-pilot  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Revzilla had the best deal on these at the time of purchase.

    A big problem , Gnome tank is not waterproof , and the rain cover takes up to much space ........🙁

    • @lazy-pilot
      @lazy-pilot  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do agree that’s a major shortcoming. I was able to drench the whole bag in 3M Water-shield spray and that has kept it dry in all but strong downpours. I think I’ve found a waterproof cover that is cheap but should work very well if it fits. And it should pack-down much better. I’ll know within a few days if I’m right. Here’s the link:

      I can now verify this cover works PERFECTLY! It should fit most tank bags, maybe some tail bags too! It fits my Mosko Moto Gnome tank bag like it was designed for it. It’s good quality, inexpensive and packs down compact into a permanently attached pocket (so you don’t lose it). It was originally intended for a big digital camera. Check out the link. $13 USD

    Do you think this will fit good, not so big on a cb500x?

      Sorry, I’m not familiar with the cb500x but you could certainly probe the people at Moskva Moto. They’re very receptive to questions.

    Bag notwithstanding what are you running as you're GPS and the setup? Did you have any satellite reception issues from the Aprilia Screen?

      Garmin Zumo XT in a Touratech locking mount with flexible visor I got from a 3D print vendor on Etsy.com. I discuss these and other accessories/mods in this video.

      I had a zumo XT and the second it got near the screen of the Aprilia it lost all service. Glad you figured it out.

      May I ask what type of mount you used? That sounds more like an issue with the mount covering the antenna.

      @@lazy-pilot It was pretty amazing, the unit would be mounted and working great with solid reception and power then as soon as you would power on the bike reception would instantly die. Using the factory mount with the ram ball attached to that little cross bar. I have a little video but not sure how to post it directly to you.
