If I can get them, black ring airtites are my favourite. They keep the coin snug, eliminating rattle and possible wear and they show off the coin. I bought mine in large quantities from JP's Corner, with considerable savings due to volume. Regarding soft 9999 coins, my dealer was going to send one of his Maples to be melted because it was bent but otherwise in good condition. I asked him to pass it to me and using only my fingers, I straightened it out. It was back to retail status. Have a Happy New Year.
WIth the ring type you can fit more different size coins in the same tube, which is important if you don't have a full tube of the similar size to put together.

Just ordered some direct fits from On Fire Guy yesterday. I’ve been buying 1/10 ounce Eagles from a dealer who sells all his bullion coins in direct fit capsules.
I like keeping full tubes of silver and don't mess with them. I buy one extra coin for each tube series which I capsule for viewing. 10 oz bars I keep in the original sealed plastic, lcs prefers original wrap if I ever sale. Probably will capsules at least one of each series. They display so much better. The black trim rings highlights coins, especially gold coins. All gold gets capsuled.
I was at a coin show recently inquiring about capsules. When I pulled out a plastic "sheet" of 1/4oz eagles to show the dealers how I had them (original packaging), both dealers I spoke with encouraged me not to put them in capsules but to leave them in their original containers. Both said they'd give me more money for 'em if I left 'em in there. Now, as much as I like capsules and would like to use them, I store any purchases in their original containers, which is usually a plastic film with cardboard edges, with the receipt in a small craft bag, keeping that purchase together with itself. I still wish I had capsules for the sake of easier handling and storage, but hey, this works and I'm not the type to take 'em outta the safe for handling or viewing later. I buy 'em. I set 'em in there, and I forget about 'em for another day. A day that must eventually happen.

Is there a gap between the upper and lower half for the gold maple? I couldn't tell from the video. It looks like the 30mm Air-Tite Direct Fit capsule is 2.03 mm deep and the 1oz gold maple is 2.80 thick. Can't seem to find which capsule is best for the 1oz gold maple. Great videos!

Hi there! I'm looking for a clear direct fit capsule for my 1oz Britannia. Noticed that for Britannia it is 32.69mm. Will buying 32.7mm still be a perfect fit which doesn't make any noise when shaken? Thanks!
I know this video is a little bit older but I do not use foam rings on any of my coins...especially gold coins. I am not going to take a chance with the foam up against the coin for 10, 20, 30 years and hope there is no impact on the coin. Call me cautious I guess but there is no reason to have the foam touching the coin (expect that it may look better)...JMHO. Thanks 2 is 1.
Thank you for sharing this video. I appreciate all the information you provided. I really like the black inner ring, as it really shows the brilliance of the gold coin by creating a strong contrast.
Not sure what sized rings to purchase for my one ounce silver bullion coins. Can you tell me which size to use for the following: American Silver Eagle, Canadian Maple Leaf, British Britannia, Mexican Libertad, Austrian Philharmonic, and Perth mint? I think 38mm maybe? Thanks for the input!
By Eagles, you mean ASEs? I did that for two tubes - at first just because I was overly excited but then because I planned to save one for each of my kids. The ASEs in tubes tones as much as any I had in mint tubes, by the way. 👎🏼
It definitely matters if you keep it in a capsule or not because when you go to sell it to your LCS or wherever whoever it is is going to pay you less money if it’s all dinged up and scratched and they will pay you more money for your coins if it’s not all dinged and scratched and it’s in good BU condition. .
I am trying to find "direct fit" (transparent) capsules for the 1/4 oz Canadian maple coins and having a hard time finding the right size for them. Could you please give me directions on where to find those on Amazon or elsewhere? Thank you!

Also what size direct fit for 1/10 oz maples and philharmonics?
2 is 1 ya I saw that when I looked up the specs but I was told to get the 15mm ones by on fire guy, oh well going forward I know to get 16mm direct fit or black ring.

Yeah I agree. I'm not sure when the direct fit became available, but I don't remember being able to get a hold of them when I started. Cheers!
No reason to interduce more chemicals to the equation (foam).
ASEs are 40mm. Pretty sure this is what I have: amzn.to/39Ekb1l
I agree on having gold in capsules and high premium silver collectibles. Not eagles like I did. 🤦🏻♂️
By Eagles, you mean ASEs? I did that for two tubes - at first just because I was overly excited but then because I planned to save one for each of my kids. The ASEs in tubes tones as much as any I had in mint tubes, by the way. 👎🏼
Wow. Stacking stormtrooper. 👍
Does it help you to go through the links provided? If so I may use those.
Great video. Have you tried Leuchtturm Quadrum containers?
Does anyone know if you can get direct fit capsules for maples? (same as rhe buffalo capsules in this video)
Air-tite website size guild says n/a
I use these: amzn.to/3pYmLoO
It definitely matters if you keep it in a capsule or not because when you go to sell it to your LCS or wherever whoever it is is going to pay you less money if it’s all dinged up and scratched and they will pay you more money for your coins if it’s not all dinged and scratched and it’s in good BU condition.
.
I am trying to find "direct fit" (transparent) capsules for the 1/4 oz Canadian maple coins and having a hard time finding the right size for them. Could you please give me directions on where to find those on Amazon or elsewhere? Thank you!
Ji, do you find these capsules ? ✌🏻
Did you check the couch cushions?
I’m looking for tubes for my 1oz silver Tuvalu and Australia coins that are in capsules. Also I’m looking for a tube for 1/10 oz maples and philharmonics, and the 15mm black ring seemed tight for my maples even though I was told to get them...? Any advice. Thanks man. Also what size direct fit for 1/10 oz maples and philharmonics?
1/10 Maples, Philharmonics and Eagles are all 16mm. OnFireGuy.com will have everything you need!
2 is 1 ya I saw that when I looked up the specs but I was told to get the 15mm ones by on fire guy, oh well going forward I know to get 16mm direct fit or black ring.
Mike DeCarlo huh. Weird.
Useful information, thank you
🤜🤛
Such an informative video! I was all over Amazon trying to find capsules for the Buffalo and couldn't find any that say they also fit Buffalos.
Do you find the coins rattle about in these cases?
US Mint coins don’t. Royal Mint and Perth Mint coins do.
What diameter are are Mint capsules which hold Proof Buffallo's? So I can purchase the correct tube. Don't need cap's only tubes. I do not have easy access to them to measure one myself...
Not sure they make tubes that size. Ive swapped all my mint capsules because of it.
@@2is1gold Entrepreneur needed! Wow hard to believe? Thank you. Although Eagles are a larger diameter. One for all? using rings? or different size inner constraint ring."Damn Wall" as it were.
@@whelpdog1 I use direct fit now, but I can't find any with the same outer dimensions for Maples and US Mint commemoratives. It's frustrating.
@@2is1gold Thanks again for your Knowledge and time.....Notice my avatar? a NIckel Laying upright on it's side? Proving there are more than (On the other side of the Coin) or you could push it over and stand it Flat on it's head? lol
Lionel Ducote I didn’t notice. I’m too busy trying to uncover the secret message. Your uppercase letters look like code. I’ll let you know when I get it decoded! 😁
Showing off a nice Sebenza there buddy 👏🏻👏🏻
Good eye!
@@2is1gold I appreciate a good knife :)
Interesting topic, thanks for doing this!
Thanks for watching!
Where do you typically buy online? I’ve been making some purchases off eBay. I’ve ordered several of the MS70 silver eagles, and got a stack of 25 Canadian silver maples. Just getting in to stacking so I can store this stuff in my safe.
I like the direct fit too.
I have a set of T30 coming for my gold Maple Leafs. I'm not sure they'll be snug, so we'll see if I end up hating them! 😀
