I agree. At first I had sympathy because he is clearly deranged. I do think he can change, but I don't think he deserves a second chance. What if he succeeded and destroyed multiple people's careers? I don't think he would feel bad, and even if he did, I think he would be too conceited to even understand his own guilt.

It's pretty important to understand for Terry Davis that he suffered from schizophrenia and a litany of other issues. As someone who had to go to a mental clinic for help I asked a doctor there about it. They said that as the illnesses took over the people just became more and more racist/homophobic. It's a sad fact of the disease. They said that some people had no inkling of it prior to the onset and that drastic of a mood change was something that tipped some of the family members off at the early stages.
It's hard to know if he truly was a racist but it's sad that his final years are documented because he was seen as this racist streaming programmer. Instead of being known as the extremely talented individual he was, or could have been had he not lost his mind.

He skipped work to drive to the desert because he heard voices coming out of his radio saying people were coming to get them. He then completely destroyed his car even attempting to fully disassemble the engine when a police officer showed up and detained him to take him to get a psych eval. I forget how but he wound up causing the cruiser to crash and when when he was in the hospital he tried to escape. Finally he wound up in a county prison where he almost started a fire by using his glasses to short circuit a breaker. He was finally diagnosed with one of the most extreme cases of schizophrenia and then his parents did their best to take care of him.

Alright as the resident Clinical Psychology student here, here is the difference between Psychologist and Psychiatrist:
Psychologists are doctors, specifically trained for therapy and psychological assessment. You can get a Psy.D or Ph.D., which are both doctorates. Those trained in Ph.D. are also trained for research.
Psychiatrists go through medical school, like all medical doctors, but once they finish med school, they train to be specialized in psychiatric medicine (mental health medication). Some of them may be trained to do therapy, as well. So they have an M.D.

The moment you have a PhD or any kind of doctorate you're a doctor, so a psychologist is a doctor. English is sometimes a stupid language anyone with a doctorate degree is a doctor not to be confused with a medical doctor. At least in french, doctor and medical doctor are two completely different terms (easy to separate). Doctor › docteur and medical doctor > médecin. A psychiatrist is a medical specialist (médecin spécialiste) and psychologist is a doctor in psychology.
In russian the correct word for medical doctor is distinct from a PhD doctor. English suffers from oversimplification sometimes

The difference between HPL and Terry Davis being, Lovecraft was a guy who single-handedly revolutionized horror and has literally influenced thousands of writers, filmmakers, game devs etc.. And I'm not even trying to diminish the achievement of programming the OS, but Lovecraft as a creator is on a completely different level.

Probably because Lawsuits are usually very very expensive. As a wandering youtube consumer, i like this podcast. As an audio person, Nux and Oompa need to step up their swear gang or Muta needs to chill so that i dont think my ears are bugging out whenever half of Muta's sentences have been evicted from this reality.
Muta's talk about buying a ghost town compared to building your own is potentially better for a couple of reasons, the biggest ones involve potential infrastructure. If there are already roads, farmable land, and access to water, you're going to have a much easier time than trying to find or build access to all three. All of the buildings will probably be trash and need to be rebuilt, but the collective you've potentially got in terms of money would potentially make it easier to work on housing. Heck, being "influencers" you'd probably be able to get deals on housing and renewable energy through sponsorships. I know there are some videos out there of people trying. It's obviously difficult, but I'd say doable.
That being said, since one of you already has over 100 acres with presumably some infrastructure in place...

Hi guys. Been listening since the first podcast and I absolutely love all of them. I just have a slight helpful critique. Oompa's volume is always much louder than the other two. This makes it kind of hard to listen to it through earbuds or on speakers late at night. It's a slight adjustment to make Oompa just the same volume as the others. I hope this was okay critique to give. Love you all loads. Keep up the good work!

Here's the thing, In the Praise of Shadows accidentally became the representative of a very annoying power on the internet, and I think the reactions were more to that mindset that's basically been dominating social media for the past 5 or 6 years, than at him specifically. The blacklisting of people that seem even slightly right leaning, or not on the progressive bandwagon has been like a boot on everyones neck, but no one wants to complain about that kind of thing, lest they get blacklisted as well. Everyone knows this, but there wasn't really anyone to criticize specifically, so when this guy makes a vid basically embodying that kind of political prejudice, he was the perfect punching bag to vent that pent up frustration.
