My brother got me to play this game and by golly this has been one of the best experiences in my entire life. This game is just amazing. Thank you for this video!!! Have an amazing dayyyy
I dont think there's any indication that the species walking to the cricket nomai is evil, perhaps more so the strangers memories evolved to this druidic race and is going to introduce themselves to the nomai memories evolved to the cricket race. Basically it seems this race is going to greet the other race. Question is, where is the memories of the hearthian that evolved?
Thanks so much for watching! You could be right on that one. It is open to interpretation. The reason I'm leaning towards malice is the warning from the Prisoner inside the Eye, that the Strangers' fear might taint the Hearthian's memories. The Strangers are a fearful race and sometimes respond to the unknown with violence (if you run into a Stranger inside the Construct after dying in the real world, they actually break your neck instead of blowing out the lantern).
If you go straight to the Eye without meeting Solanum on the Quantum Moon, the bug people don't appear in the end credits. The same thing happens if you don't meet the Strangers so I'm pretty sure the new universe is based on the memories of the Hearthian. The actual planet also changes. If you get to the end credits after meeting the Prisioner, the planet is inverted, just like the Strangers spacecraft.
@@samhalcyon6741 I don't think there's any malice, he was just going to introduce themselves, in any of the visions we see, we don't see any of the Strangers attack another race. If anything they were trying to protect the other races by blocking out the signal.
Thanks for putting all this together. It's a very weird story set in a strange universe with many rather apathetic characters. It does make a lot more sense after watching your videos.
Thanks for watching! Yes, the story of Outer Wilds can be quite cryptic, especially right at the end which I can imagine isn't for everyone. What I loved about this game is that, at its core, it's about curiosity and discovery. There are no way points or map markers, only points of interest that draw you deeper. Few games have captured my imagination and blown my mind as frequently as Outer Wilds, my only regret is that I can't wipe my memory and do it all over again 😆
Oh god, I didn't notice the Prisoner's scratched-out portrait... T-T Also, I didn't percieve the new ending creature as threatening. Just spooky, hehee
This was such a polished, well put together video. Thanks so much for making this.

Your brother has great taste!

Maybe they aren't supposed to be evolved from memories, hmm curious what is actually going on here.

There is hope however, as the Prisioner embodies the same ideals as the Nomai. Once again, Mobius leaves it up to you to decide 😄

The portrait is easy to miss. It's in one of the Stilt Village houses that gets washed away 😄
Feldspar even says he hopes there are "beasties" in the next universe 😄
I really loved this game and have tried to get everyone play this...Are you South African by the way?
Such a gem and yes I am :)
