I binged the entire season a few days ago, and this was the first episode I truly liked. Which is weird considering I don't at all like Ruby XD I was starting to think that Russell had forgotten what Who was, but I see here that he hadn't. I do get what you say about the emotional journey in this one. It makes you uneasy the whole time. It's really well done, and the score certainly helps. What you say that her old lady version is travelling back through her own life is what I was thinking, and why it reminded me of an episode of Star Trek Voyager, only here we follow the "original" version of the character, and Voyager followed the old lady. Sort of. Have you seen any Star Trek? I find it interesting that you uploaded this video with a lengthy discussion about symbolic loneliness only a few days apart from your discussion about symbolic loneliness in Buffy's "Restless", considering that Russell always quoted Buffy as an influence. Anyway, I don't know if you're done watching the rest of the season, so just in case, I'll only say I do like the rest of it. Most of it XD
I haven't seen any Star Trek, but I've been always interested in it and I have plenty of general knowledge about it just by existing near people who mention it. Do you have any pointers as to where to begin?

18:29, my head canon is: the Doctor would pull a Harriet Jones on Mad Jack. Like in "Turn Left" others had to step up, at heavy price to do his job.
This is probably my favorite episode of the series. Loved loved LOVED the tone, the camera choices, the music, and that we didn't get all the answers.
Tune in next week, when we find out what the Doctor will step on next!!! 😄
The veterans may feel influence of "The Dead Zone", either Stephen King's novel or Cronenberg's movie, or the TV show.
