Mrs. Flood was dressed like that because she seems to copy a lot of the Doctor's companions. She was dressed like Clara and called him "clever boy" in this episode. And at the end, she was dressed like Romana I from Classic Who.
I wonder who in your comments dislikes Ruby... Yeah, I don't like her. On the one hand, cause as a character she's very flat, dull, but also, because to me it felt like they were trying to force us to like her, to show how nice and hopeful and cheery she was... and it doesn't feel genuine. And also, cause she reminds me of Rose, and Rose I can't stand XD Like you said, I don't get how the Doctor just is crazy in love with her, but not only cause she's a random girl, but also cause she's an awful and kinda dumb random girl. I understand Ten liking Reinette, cause she was so different and smart, and then on top of that, she immediately knew what to do with a psychic connection, allowing for him to no longer need to hide or explain. Just one episode, and it made a lot more sense XD Anyway, Donna is by far my favourite, so =) In any case, I really enjoyed this finale. I am a little tired of characters being killed and brought back, but I'm willing to forgive it because the episode is beautifully written. It wrapped up Ruby's story in a very down to earth way, which is nice for a sci fi show. And also left us with a mystery for next season! Fun! Maybe Ms Flood is a cocaine addict version of Mary Poppins...
