7:00 Love the skill on display there, you can see him flooring the throttle and locking the front brakes at the same time to slow the car down while preventing it from spinning out
@@RottenWeeblet Yeah. While I've never driven anything close to those cars, I've felt a (somewhat) similar feeling in my BMW in the rain (RWD/No TCS/SC). Steering feel unloads, you feel the back end start to slide and a change in G forces of course. Let off the throttle just enough and react quickly to the snap without putting in too much steering angle. In his case he downshifted as well
That’s the sound of straight cut transmission gears. In passenger cars the gears mesh at a 45 degree angle and it reduces sound. Sounds like an RC car or something haha. Love the whine
@@Alejandro-tp8hd That looks like the opposite of what I imagine "standing up the bike" would mean. Admittedly I don't really know any bike racing lingo. Also doesn't look unintentional at all. He even looked directly at the guy right before raising his leg.
@@sanny8716 basically, the farther you lean off, the more upright the machine can be for a given turn radius. Front was losing grip so he put himself very low to get more rubber in contact with the road.
@@justletmecomment6453 I see, interesting, maybe you're right I don't think I've seen people raise their leg like that, but that probably means I need to watch more bike racing
In bike racing what does the turn its the rear wheel above ~33mph under that you turn left to go left, above this there comes centrifugal forces and then you need to understeer, what proll happened here is that the first guy came too agressive to prevent the other guy from passing him and that resulted in a danger rpm zone, in those big bikes you should stay above 6-7k rpms so the weight its transfered to the rear wheel; remember what i said that the rear its what turns? yeah, so, he did late braking to prevent the other guy, rpm dropped, bike weight equalized between the two wheels or came 60% in front 40% back and it started to slide, he prolly put his leg back to get a mini pendulum to try to transfer the weight from the front to te back again to regain control.
@@bmci007 you cut too hard too fast and you understeer directly into him, he had to react and then shed speed before trying to steer lower on the track. They still made contact, but obviously he avoided the vast majority of the possible damage
it's really that second clip that really makes me smile. no smoke and looking really natural on the flick there just really graceful it's like watching pluspy 2 all over again
I can't tell which save is my favorite but damn i gotta say. Saves from motogp/motorbike sport or f1 for me is much more impressive than others The amount of skill and luck is truly needed
I can't tell if the camera men for Isle of Man shoot the camera up into the air if there might be a crash so there is no fatal stuff on TV or they're just bad...
2:08 - nowadays we'd all have our cocks out screaming about how amazing this is, what a save, pure talent, etc... But in the 90s it's a mistake. Because it's a mistake. This is why humanity is getting shit.
That Clio Cup save... Incredibile! 🔥
Even if he tried he couldn't make it again lmao🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely 😂😂👍👍
The commentary was very fitting too 😅👍
Thats not even a save, he just wanted to show off

The camera man legit thought he was coming right for him hahahaha
@@CrossWindsPat you could be right, but I believe that cameramen are taught to look away immediately if they see a possible fatal crash coming
a bit late but i dont understand why its in the compilation at all. He obviously didnt manage to save it seeing how he is dead.

It’s crazy how professional racers make it look like the vehicle is an extension of their own body, absolutely magical watching them.
In 2 wheel motorsports it is an extension of your body
5:06 😂😂 the commentary no clue what he is saying but I love it
I hear "AKINA POTATO" And i died
5:47 Rewatching that Herta save, I wonder if he saw the dry road in his trajectory or felt the tires slowly regaining grip from decelerating, or both.
he probably just felt it snapping back and unwided the lock
it's natural, you just automatically feel it.
