It's being turned into a gravel circuit because it's less expensive to maintain and according to the owner Nobushige Kumakubo, most likely the only way to keep the circuit open at all.

@@Fordmister it could be, either way it looked like the marshal at the main straight waved the yellow flag way before they passed him, and i think the safety car that was waiting was informed that the leader is coming and should get on the racing line and wait for them to catch up but wasnt expecting them to be coming that fast

Seeing real WTCC clips is so surreal for me, I spent hundreds of hours during my childhood driving those cars in RACE 07 that I forget those things raced for real. I wish I could own one, that would be a dream come true.

The pace difference between the two was probably 2-3 seconds a lap, and there is no defending that at Abu Dhabi, especially when your rival goes for a divebomb that would have won him the championship crash or not.

The perfect example of this holds the current lap record, Michael Dunlop. His brother, Father and Uncle literally all died competing in the sport (but not at Isle of Man TT) , Michael is still breaking records in 2023 and probably plans to until he dies doing it.

The first race where the rally car goes wide and holds everyone back is epic. He dictated everyone else's moves which is some Art of War type of stuff. Man you can see those bikes and riders take some ridiculous G's on the downhill turn section after catching air going close to 200mph.... insane.

Brad binder winning on slicks in the wet in Austria in 2021 at least they are not manufactured championships like f1
