For memory in this model... there are 4 DIMM slots... two that are easily accessible under the bottom aluminum cover, and two slots under the keyboard. For higher end 7720's, DELL installed the memory in the slots under the keyboard. Found this out the hard way when I had to replace one of the DIMM's in my work issued computer.
I have the 7720 4K machine how do I get access to DIMM Slot D & C I guess these are the slots under the keyboard, is there a how to do video somewhere ?

I just bought the 7720 refurbished for a great deal. It's decked out with an i7 7920HQ 3.1Ghz, 64GB ram, 4K display, and the Quadro P5000 w/16GB. This thing is a beast! It's a workout to lug around but good luck trying to find 16GB VRAM in a lighter package. And good Nvidia laptops are hard to find in 2021. Even the used market is way overpriced. I feel lucky to have found this one.

I decided to take the plunge and purchase a refurbished 7720 from Dell (should be here in a few days). I might do a review of it in 2021 :D

If I got this it would have to be at the Precision 7730 with M.2 nvme 4 or 8 terabytes worth, an i9 9th gen processor,an 16gb nvidia quadro p5200 and 64 GB of memory that is the main stuff I want in it
you should get a xeon not an i9 much more powerful pluss you have the option for ECC Ram instead of non ECC Ram. it corrects errors that would normally crash a machine when the errors occur.

It was originally going to live on a dock, driving dual monitors but I am regretting not getting the upgraded screen. Have you tried to replace the screen one of these models, yet? Would you recommend on doing so, or just suck it up and live with it. LOL

Do you still have this laptop? Do you know if you can choose which GPU (the iGPU or dGPU) the video output ports use in the BIOS? I'm looking for a machine (even in 2021) that gives me the option of connecting an external monitor without having to power on the Nvidia GPU. I heard the Dell 7000 series have a setting in the BIOS that allows the user to select which GPU to use.
On the desktop, on windows right click, open the Nvidia control panel settings and choose manage 3d settings, on. Preferred graphics processor change from auto select to the Nvidia gpu to the integrated.

This laptop has great options, you can add a 2.5 hard drive or a SSD 2.5 on the hard drive slot or you can purchase a second SSD m.2 that you have two slot onboard.

No it's not normal for this to happen, do the following update to the latest bios then update to the latest NVidia drivers if you have a NVidia GPU. The best way to update the NVidia is to download Nvidia experience to get the latest driver. If the issues hasn't gone alway then you need to add new thermal paste to the system and this is a little difficult.

@@nasrsaleh148 I upgraded to a P4000. It's easier if you get a Dell one/one from a Dell. It's easy to take apart the laptop and swap it out.

You can or you can also add them as a raid with the raid controller build in.
