DIY - How to make Barbie Doll tulle underskirt (petticoat/ tutu skirt) - Barbie Clothes Tutorial

In this tutorial, I will show you how to make 6 layered tulle underskirt or petticoat that will give an extra volume to any Barbie dress or skirt.

I came up with this method by experimenting with making tulle petticoats.
It is not the easiest method, but result is worth it. You will have very nice and fluffy tulle skirt.
You should know how to sew backstitches and how to crochet chains and single crochets (sc).
You will need
- Medium hard tulle mesh - 50*35 sm - 3 pieces
- Yarn -100% cotton, 50gr/410m
- Pins
- Hook size 1 mm
- Scissors
1) Put 3 piece of tulle together.
2) Fold it in a half, and pin it across fold line. Now you have 6 layers 50*17,5 sm
3) Take needle and yarn (don’t cut it)
4) Fasten yarn at the beginning. Step 2 sm and make backstitch. You should stab all 6 layer of tulle. Tighten the yarn. Again: step 2 sm, make backstitch, Tighten the yarn. So you will have folds. Repeat sewing backstitches till the end of fabric. Finally, you should have 25 backstitches across fold line.
Row 1 - Turn skirt. Skein should be on the right of the skirt. Take a hook and crochet 2 single crochet in each stitch across. Finally, you should have 50 single crochets in this row.
Row 2 - chain 1, Turn, crochet 1 single crochet in each single crochet of Row 1 (50sc). Than crochet 21 chains.
Row 3 - Turn, 1 single crochet in 2nd chain from hook, 1 single crochet in each chain ( 20 sc), 1 single crochet in each single crochet of Row 2 (50sc), Than crochet 21 chains.
Row 4 - Turn, 1 single crochet in 2nd chain from hook, 1 single crochet in each chain ( 20 sc), slip stitch in 1st stitch of Row 2. Fasten off.
Separate all layers to make petticoat fluffier.
Done.
