Oh man, I can relate to this! I'll be 77 on Saturday and country music has been the soundtrack for all of those years. My great-grandson will be 17 soon, and from his earliest days he was raised on the music from 3 generations (his Mama raps,, His Gramma rocks, and me, I teach him the "redneck' side of his heritage)) My greatest pleasure is always with him and I listening to the greats of country and hearing him sing along loud and proud and knowing every word of a song from Hank Williams or Waylon. Willie, Johnny, Jones, Haggard, Buck Owns or even Dolly's 9 to 5 .etc.. I'm so glad to know you are discovering the pleasures of country music too, Sebs. Lots of lessons to be learned from the songs they sang and the lives they lived..
Great Song The Bellamy Brothers had a few songs like "LET YOUR LOVE FLOW", and IF I SAID YOU HAD A BEAUTIFUL BODY WOULD YOU HOLD IT AGAINST ME" John Anderson had SEMINOLE WIND and old songs "SWINGIN':, SHE JUST STARTED LIKING CHEATING SONGS, 1959 and I JUST CAME HOME TO COUNT THE MEMORIES. It seems that each generation has its own style of Country The Bellamy Bros. and John Anderson are OLD SCHOOL.
On the verge of tears right now. These are the people that I listened to while raising my boys. It's good to hear from some of the greats again. Thank you for sharing.
The Bellamy Brothers are friends of mine, was speaking with Howard just last night. Great guys, good people and truly legends. I love their music, and they have put out so many great hit songs. Thanks for checking them out. John Anderson is another great Florida artist, and a good man.
Sebes, I love that you’re doing all this country music. You’ve learned that it’s just people singing about real life. One of the old stars mentioned in this song is Patsy Cline. She was a legendary female singer, who passed away way too young. Two of her best songs are “I go walking after midnight” and “Crazy.”They’re both worth a listen. Nothing quite like them these days.
For The Bellamy Bros , "Old Hippy" is a great one! Also you must listen to "If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me". For John Anderson, Straight Tequila Night, Seminole Wind and Swingin!
The Bellamy Brothers are amazing so many great hits , If I Said You Have a Beautiful Body , Redneck Girl , Let Your Love Flow , Do You Love As Good As You Look , and many more . There are some suggestions and I know you'll love every one of them . John Anderson has one of the most unique voices in music, Seminole Wind , Swingin' , Black Sheep , Straight Tequila Night , all great #1s ......
Can’t wait until Sebs get to the point where he recognizes how chock full of references this song is. He already caught a few of them so he’s on a roll! Can’t wait to see where he’s at a year from now! May be worth a second reaction to see what he can recognize.
From the internet: The discography of the American country music duo The Bellamy Brothers consists of 30 studio albums and 72 singles. The duo charted for the first time in 1976 with "Let Your Love Flow", a #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Although they only charted one other top 40 pop hit, they charted 26 top ten country hits.
I remember when these guys were young and breaking in. Now they are the Old Guard! A few years down the road and George Strait, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Patty Loveless and a few more will be the Old Guard. I hope all these fine peoples music will live on and get played when we're all gone!
I'm very glad to hear that these guys are still making great music! I'm an old hippie and rocker from late sixties... I'm 72... I still loved these guys! 😆😆💋💖💋💖🌵👵🐺🖖
John Anderson's most memorable songs to me are "Straight Tequila Night", "Swingin'", and "Seminole Wind." The Bellamy Brother's are "Let Your Love Flow", "If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me" and "Redneck Girl". Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of their music.
Bellamy Brothers had perhaps the best song titles in country… “If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me?” “I’d Lie to You For Your Love (and that’s the truth)”
The Bellamy Brothers are amazing, as is John Anderson. Anderson's "down in Tennessee" and "straight tequila night" are classics and my favorite BB songs are "when I'm away from you" and "I'd lie to you for your love."
You are right about the same kind of people love country music. I was born and half raised in a coal camp, loved old country, then in my teens i played oldies rock and finally back to loving the old country music. I like some newer too but old traditional country is my first and last love as far as music go's. Thank for this great newer song , but with an old country tilt. Please check out John Anderson's songs. They are great! He has a unique voice. Check out Seminole wind, Swinging, and so many other of his songs.
🎼🔥🔥🎼 .. this is a sweet one Sebs , there are so many references to the great, great songs of the past .. like Patsy Cline ".. walking after midnight.." , and many others. I like many of The Bellamy Brothers hits. I hope you will check some out.
Hi Sebs. I love country music. But the best music for driving, for me, is my Greatest Hits album by Creedence. I got to see John Anderson open for Alan Jackson. That was a good concert. I also saw Dolly open for Willie. They also sang together. Now that was a GREAT concert. Can you imagine Dolly as anyone's opening act? LOL.
If you're gonna go down the classic country rabbit hole...listen to some patsy cline...any of her songs. And some Merle and Conway to balance it out. Pure talent...no filter!
I was raised with all the greats and its true these new artists don't hold a candle to the legends. I remeber seeing John Anderson when I was 16 it was a great show.
One of these days we need to get you and your family out to visit Idaho. I'll get you shooting some cowboy fast draw in the old gold town of Idaho City off main street and help you get the right cowboy hat. We can cook up some Elk steaks and have some home made Huckleberry pie and ice cream!
You have said you make it to Dallas every once in a while with work. There is a Resistol Hats outlet store in Garland (easy drive to the suburbs). I haven't been there in years, but they used to have really good prices on quality hats.
Everything from the Bellamy Brothers is excellent. You will love it. John Anderson has a ton of great songs too. I love classic country. I I haven't heard this one yet, but it is going on my playlist.
Old Hippie, Let Your Love Flow, If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me, Lovers Live Longer, Do You Love As Good As You Look, For All The Wrong Reasons, Get Into Reggae Cowboy, I Love Her Mind, Lie To You For Your Love, and LOTS more.
You really need to revisit this 5 or even 10 years from now if you keep your Country journey going. This song will mean so much more. It's kinda like watching the end of a movie first. Every line in this song is a different reference to Country music's history.
Thank you so much for introducing me to this song! I can’t believe I’ve never heard it before. As much as I love a lot of todays country artists, the old classics like the ones mentioned in this song really speak to my heart. My dad raised me on them. As early as 3 or 4 yrs old I remember sitting on the sink, watching him shave and singing “Your cheating heart” by Hank Williams Sr. And my last memory of him was him singing those words again as he was dying. And even though he could barely speak due to his illness, he got them out. 💔💗 you should definitely check out Hank Sr and read about his life. He died of alcoholism at just 29 yrs old. I love that you are really finding your appreciation for country music both new and old! ❤ Also John Anderson is a good one to check out too!
I just got a good laugh from what you said. You should surprise your wife one day and come home in a pair of jeans, cowboy boots and a killer black cowboy hat! I think she would love it! LOL
Nice to see someone find the Bellamy Brothers. They had a good run of popular country music starting in the 1970s and generally mixed some humor into their lyrics -- check out "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body" for an example. My favorite of their songs is Old Hippie -- probably because I'm the same age as the old hippie in the song. Theirs is an interesting catalog -- have fun with it.
You hit the nail on the head about the point of the song. The Bellamy 5:11 brothers are country legends. Same as John Anderson who just got inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Worthwhile checking out both these acts music catalogs. One of my favorite Bellamy Brother songs is one they sang with the Forester sisters, “ Too Much is Not Enough.”
I agree with the person who said take some time and spend just a little more to get a hat fitted to you. I'd say boots fall in that category, too. Yes, you can get off the rack ready to go, but you'll be so much happier and they'll last longer if they're fitted and hand formed. (also, been listening to the Bellamy Brothers all my life)
Let Your Love Flow,Just An Old Hippie,Redneck Girl.....The Bellamy's were considered the corner of Outlaw Country in the day when Willie Nelson,Waylon Jennigs,Billy Swan,Hank William's Jr,etc. were full outlaw(deviating from the contemporary country music persona of the pre-1975).Btw,great brother harmonies can best be heard in the Everly Brothers music .They started making hits back in 1957 .
My favorite Bellamy Brothers song is " You Ain't Just Whistling Dixie " but Old Hippy is my original favorite, David calls me old hippie now as a nickname, lol he's got a great sense of humor.
Country Western from the 50's was the best. All the Singers they mentioned in this song were the best. Just found your channel today and I just love it. Been watching a lot of your reactions and I am having a lot of fun. Thank you.
The Bellamys are telling a story, and that's what country music was, stories. But the "country" music has been changed to pop music to draw more people in who wouldn't listen to real country, now what was country music is called Americana. But "old" country could just as jammin'. I was listening to a "Country" radio station when it switched to the new country format, the dj happily called what they had been playing a few minutes before, "old crap". No respect. That change alienated a lot of people in the name of more profit. I'd grown up listening to Standards, Big Band, Rock and Roll, Pop, even some latin and more, but real country music is still a special place.
I love the old country which is what I grew up on but the old country most are dead the only way to go back is the play their music but radio stations won't cause that would change their audience which are the younger crowd that likes the new country. New Country has a lil rock and country mixed together I'm 67 and like both....My 2 favs are Jason Aldean and Bailey Zimmerman those 2 are on 🔥...
The Bellamy Brothers are still going strong in their 70s, and they both contribute to the songwriting. They have their own studio at their ranch in Florida and have total control of their music. They are popular worldwide. They did a collaboration with the Bacon Brothers (yes, as in Kevin Bacon, the actor) at the Grand Old Opry several times. The four of them recorded a song called "Guilty of the Crime" and it's fantastic! Please look into more of their music, you won't be sorry.
I agree yes I know they are still going just wish the radio stations would play the older stuff still just because they are no longer with us doesn't mean their music is gone that's the purpose of recording so it's here forever...JMO
Since I’m around their age, I love to hear ‘Old Hippy’. And you have to hear John Anderson do ‘Swinging’ talk about country drawl… wow I’m from the South and never heard anything like it
My favorites of the Bellamy Brothers are Let Your Love Flow, Redneck Girl, and Old Hippie. For John Anderson, Seminole Wind, Swingin’, Straight Tequila Night, And Years.
Sebs, the lyrics & visuals are working in famous artists with their songs … the part about Jolene show a billboard of Dolly Parton who sang it, or the reference to Patsy Cline includes the title of her song Walking After Midnight. This is a song that bit by bit can lead you to artists & songs and inside jokes, etc. This song has lots of layers to explore!
I miss the older music... Jim Reeves, Eddy Arnold, Conway Twitty, Patsy Cline, Buck Owens, Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, George Jones, and lots more .... love the old steel guitar... they could make that thing talk... what we got now is more pop than country
There is still good traditional country around. But a lot of the new stuff isn't as mature as the old stuff. Real world lyrics about real world problems and experiences type music for "old men". Great song about the history of country music for someone fairly new to the genre like yourself. Loving the reactions! - Everett
There are so many artists they mentioned in this song that you need to react to. George Jones, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, and the singers of this song The Bellamy brothers and John Anderson. George Jones does a song called "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes" about legendary artists who had passed.
I even had to go and search to remember who The Bellamy Brother's are. I was listening to them when I was a teenager in 1976. They sung (Let your love flow). The OG are almost all gone, but we do still have one of the outlaws let (Willie Nelson). Dolly is still with us, there might be more but the only ones I can think of..
Oh I loved my cocktail waitress days living it Texas... I was blessed to see so many country music greats... This song is soooo true... "Posers and losers...." LOL Sebs... if you got a cowboy hat, you'd have to hide that necklace...hehehehe
I grew up listening to old country music, I had a record collection from my grandparents, and parents that spanned from the 20s to the early 80s. In the early 90s pop country took over, and I pretty much stopped listening to it. When the new outlaw country showed up on the scene, it was something worth listening to.
Thank you for a lovely reaction, the lyrics are loaded with Classic Country hits, if you were to start googling phrases of the lyrics you would get hit after hit.
If you like the groove on this one, check out more Bellamy Brothers. Some of their older stuff (Let Your Love Flow, for example) had a more 70s pop flow than country at that time. But, as we got into the 80s, they were very influential. Country music actually moved in their direction a little bit as their sound also became more country. But that easy-going beat you hear in this song was always part of their sound.
love your country reactions bro, my one friendly suggestion to folks sending song requests, if the person hasnt dived deep into the world of country music yet, theyre probably not ready for songs like this, its kind of hard to appreciate the artists in the song if you still havent figured out who they are and what theyve done
The Bellamy Brother's "Old Hippie" and John Anderson's "Seminole wind" are must listens. All Florida boys.
Seminole Wind is one of my all time favorites in country music. It's a beautiful sad song, sung by a master.
And "swingin'" is one we still sing in my family!
Red neck girls.
YES and YES!!! Also the Bellamy Brothers song Let Your Love Flow and John Anderson's When It Come To You.
Seminole Wind is awesome.
Oh man, I can relate to this! I'll be 77 on Saturday and country music has been the soundtrack for all of those years. You have to do "If I Said You Have a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me" by the Bellamy Bros.
love that song! Great suggestion!
One of their many great songs.
Great Song The Bellamy Brothers had a few songs like "LET YOUR LOVE FLOW", and IF I SAID YOU HAD A BEAUTIFUL BODY WOULD YOU HOLD IT AGAINST ME"

It seems that each generation has its own style of Country The Bellamy Bros. and John Anderson are OLD SCHOOL.
I'm 72 and there fellow kids to me. Old Hippie means so much to me, married to aVietnam vet. We're still 60's "kids."
On the verge of tears right now. These are the people that I listened to while raising my boys. It's good to hear from some of the greats again. Thank you for sharing.

Everything these guys touch is solid gold! Loving them since the 80's.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Let your Love Flow is still able to bring me to tears..even after
all these years! Love the brothers..God bless us all!! ❤️🔥🇨🇦
Absolutely my favorite by them
For The Bellamy Bros , "Old Hippy" is a great one! Also you must listen to "If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me". For John Anderson, Straight Tequila Night, Seminole Wind and Swingin!
Ashley McBryde also does a great job on Straight Tequila Nights.
I adore Redneck Girl so much.
I remember all of these guys. Fabulous artist. This is the first time I have ever heard this song and it sure bleeds the magic of old school country.
The Bellamy brothers have tons of destressing music. Great sound.
Can’t wait until Sebs get to the point where he recognizes how chock full of references this song is. He already caught a few of them so he’s on a roll! Can’t wait to see where he’s at a year from now! May be worth a second reaction to see what he can recognize.

You have found 2 rabbit holes you need to explore. Pick anything from either and you won't regret it. It's interesting that they are all from Florida
The Bellamy bros. is all FIRE.
Bellamy Brothers had perhaps the best song titles in country…
“If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me?”
“I’d Lie to You For Your Love (and that’s the truth)”
John Anderson is awesome!
The Bellamy Brothers are amazing, as is John Anderson. Anderson's "down in Tennessee" and "straight tequila night" are classics and my favorite BB songs are "when I'm away from you" and "I'd lie to you for your love."
I love the old country. Some of the new is OK but doesn't seem to the have the same "heart" as the older.
Yeah those Old Timers really killed it back in the 70s and 80s. The Bellamy Bros have lots of good songs.
GET to know who 🎉they are singing about. All great legends ❣️Glad your having such a great time.
You are right about the same kind of people love country music. Couldn't agree more! Great comment! Howdy from Texas
🎼🔥🔥🎼 .. this is a sweet one Sebs , there are so many references to the great, great songs of the past .. like Patsy Cline ".. walking after midnight.." , and many others. I like many of The Bellamy Brothers hits. I hope you will check some out.
You have to do this one. Several good videos of Patsy doing this.
John Anderson's "Seminole Wind" would be a great one to check out.
Outstanding, and so true
I'm 79 this song is so so true .Half the country music today I can't understand . I'm sorry to but that's how this old man feels 😢
LOL.
That was TWO TOP ACTS in one concert !!!
Just love The Bellamy Brothers! In 1976 my favourite song of theirs was 'Let your love flow', I'm sure you love it too!! ☺
If you're gonna go down the classic country rabbit hole...listen to some patsy cline...any of her songs. And some Merle and Conway to balance it out. Pure talent...no filter!
My favorite song from John Anderson is "would you catch a falling star"
The B Brother's harmonies are legendary
I was raised with all the greats and its true these new artists don't hold a candle to the legends. I remeber seeing John Anderson when I was 16 it was a great show.
Oh my heck! I've never heard this song, and I love it! It's so true!
Loved John Andersons wild n blue
Cool to see they are still playing! I saw them 40+ years ago and always loved them and John Anderson too. Thanks for this.
Resistol hats are absolutely the best if you're going to be a cowboy!🤠
Everything from the Bellamy Brothers is excellent. You will love it. John Anderson has a ton of great songs too. I love classic country. I I haven't heard this one yet, but it is going on my playlist.
Old Hippie, Let Your Love Flow, If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me, Lovers Live Longer, Do You Love As Good As You Look, For All The Wrong Reasons, Get Into Reggae Cowboy, I Love Her Mind, Lie To You For Your Love, and LOTS more.

The long-haired guy is John Anderson. He has tons of great music too. I like 'Straight Tequila night', 'Seminole wind' & 'Money in the bank' by John.
Bellamy Brothers' "One Toke Over the Line" was an all time favorite of mine.
They had a hit with "Old Hippie" and did a couple of follow-up recordings as the "old hippie" aged.
(also, been listening to the Bellamy Brothers all my life)
I loved the Bellamy Brothers!! Let Your Love Flow is one of their amazing songs.
This song provided many songs you’ll need to add to your list! Definitely Pasty Cline “Crazy” and “Walking After Midnight” ❤

Agree with old hippie, they made a trilogy of that song, it’s awesome

Todays country singers will never fill the shoe's of the legends who came before them.
Loved this!❤
Love the Bellamy Brothers...
Any Bellamy brothers would be GREAT
John Anderson was the guy who sang alone and I agree you need to hear Seminole Wind, it's a good one
Hank Williams==Men With Broken Hearts
Big fan of them both, I have loved this song since the first time I heard it
My favorites of the Bellamy Brothers are Let Your Love Flow, Redneck Girl, and Old Hippie. For John Anderson, Seminole Wind, Swingin’, Straight Tequila Night, And Years.

George Jones - who's gonna fill their shoes
The Bellamy Brothers and John Anderson, are from Florida. As a Florida boy, born and raised, they are favorites of mine!

This is great. Reminds me of growing up with my dads music going. Please listen to The Highwaymen live concert.
I grew with these guys on the radio. I had no idea they were still around and recording! This is going on my play list as well. Thnx!
David Bellamy is a friend of mine, super good guys. I grew up on their music. They live not too far from me.
Let Your Love Flow, "If I said you had a beautiful body (would you hold it against me?)", Old Hippie.
Dang, just heard this for the first time - ah, The Bellamy Brothers! They put a stake in the sand for us old farts to come out of the past to.
Howard & David are SUPERSTARS IN EUROPE
Let Your Love Flow was probably their first hit. John Anderson is another rabbit hole!
John Anderson is amazing
I love, love this song
I feel their pain as the old dudes they’re referring to were the ones I grew up listening to.
Love the videos Sebs. Four years into a country music exploration of my own. Keep up the good work.
Started listening to them in the 70s. Still great!
"Posers and losers...." LOL
Sebs... if you got a cowboy hat, you'd have to hide that necklace...hehehehe
I grew up listening to old country music, I had a record collection from my grandparents, and parents that spanned from the 20s to the early 80s. In the early 90s pop country took over, and I pretty much stopped listening to it. When the new outlaw country showed up on the scene, it was something worth listening to.
Great song! I haven’t heard this one. Thanks for introducing it to me! ❤
"Old Hippie", Bellamy brothers, great song
I really love your reactions and comments to this song!!❤
The Bellamys are still awesome. Love this song with John A.
We are all grieving for the old masters😢
One of The Bellamy Brothers early hits ""If I said you had a beautiful body would you hold it against me" was a good song.
