Hi Luke n' Mink, thanks for coming in France. Great review, l think you should also visit and eat specialities in South West close to Spain. And in South Est close to Italy because l sm pretty sure you will those areas. The food in insanely good, different of 3 cities you went during this trip. So, maybe the next one 🙏 enjoy
I'm so proud to see that you ate at my parents' restaurant "à contre courant" and that you liked the food! They work so hard that it warms my heart to see comments like that! Thanks for your video!
Brittany's oysters are darker in color and must be delicious! The seafood tower is so big and has a wide variety of seafood. Seeing you eating happily makes me happy too! Brittany's desserts and Galette are very attractive and definitely the highlight. If I go there, I will definitely eat them every day! Thank you so much for sharing, super great job! 👍🥰👏
Hi, yes it's really good, l think you should order first "galette complete " and with drink cidre doux or brut. This is kind of traditional way of French people order it in crêperies. Finish by crepe if you want a dessert. Enjoy 🙏
Welcome to ma Bretagne! As an American who moved here, I absolutely love this region for its super fresh food. Did you know that 70% of the produce grown in this country are from Brittany? The bio farms, fantastic breweries, rum route, and so many other culinary delights make this a gastronomic haven! There’s sooooooo much more to this region. I love living here.
@@drobgyn5615 Not at all. The French are incredibly welcoming, giving, supportive, kind and caring. And I’ve found that they have a special affinity to Americans in the north (they often reference WW2).
@@morvegil Well, Bretagne is one of the largest regions in France and it will depend upon how much time you have and if you have access to a car. For bigger cities, I suggest Saint Malo and Rennes. However, if you were specifically referring to the fact that you will be in Cancale in two weeks, that’s a pretty small town and you can discover it easily in a few hours. I always suggest Café Breizh for the best galettes and crepes in France. They grow their own varietal of serrasin on a farm near Cancale - they have locations throughout France and quite a few to choose from in Paris. But the Cancale location is original and, of course, serves Cancale oysters.
Wir waren im März in Cancale ! Toll !!!
I was watching halfway and almost shouted “noooo” when you said you were going to Leave St Malo and eat Gallette in Mont St Michele 😂 so glad you were able adjust and redirect
#LukeMartin #ChopsticksTravel - luke was all smiles at these eateries . We all know Luke still has a sweet tooth embracing the Ying-n-Yang of Sweet and Savory ! (LOL) Great travel tips
bruh the flex with the seafood platter... and yea I bet it was delicious because it was Britanny, next to the sea with all the SUPER extra fresh seafood, it rly looked amazing, Im honnestly jealous.
Hi guys, wow the seafood tower is so awesome, I’m not much of a seafood lover but that was cool. The oysters are massive, what an awesome experience foe the both of you.
Just to give you a tip : the galette shown in this video was the version for tourists, as all the galettes you can find in restaurant in Britany or anywhere in France. The real traditional galette is the saucisse galette, which can be found on markets in towns like St Malo, Dinard in Britany. The galette won't be brown but grey and with a much stronger taste, with a single sausage in it. It's really really good. You can't find it anywhere in France but in Britany. It's a must have ! Look for a food truck on any market, ask for a galette saucisse and enjoy !
What's the best way to get to Mont Saint-Michel from Saint Malo on a day trip without a car? I saw there is a Flixbus but there is only 1 per day from Saint Malo but it doesn't leave until a little after 3 PM.
Agree. He used too much vinaigrette. He should have eaten seafood (crabs, shrimps and langoustines) with mayonnaise instead. small grey shrimps with butter.
9:00 in french they are called "bigornaux" (pronounce: "be gor no"). Crab = Tourteau (tour to). Try to avoid salmon in a restaurant. It probably comes from Norway. No bueno.
before I even start watching this I just know he is going to say the word "Super " hundreds of times as always LOL and yup 3:27 is the first Super of the video ha ha ..he is soooooo predictable lol
Hey Luke. In Europe it's "Keltic" not "Seltic". Don't ask me why the basketball team are the "Seltics" here because they come from an Irish background.
😀 Celtic, and it's because in area there were a lot Irish people, in Britain. I can add there is a lot of Vikings too, just under. That's why it's called Normandie >> north man ... 🙏 enjoy and also come in the South, this is awesome.
I love Saint-Malo, my family has a vacation home near it, so I've been there many times. But no French city can match the cultural richness of Paris. Telling people not to spend time in Paris is ridiculous. It's like saying to avoid London when visiting England.
one should definitely avoid London when visiting England imo! lol such better things to see everywhere else. I started liking England when I discovered the rest of the country.
@@frenchprint Yes, such better things to see everywhere else... like cows and trees. Who cares for culture? That's what you want to see when you visit England!

The Celtics (seltics) are sports teams in Boston and Glasgow. The Celts (kelts noun, keltic adj.) are people that have existed in Europe for centuries. s sound when talking about the two sports teams. k sound when talking about the people/ethnicity.
You’re right about Paris. I went there for a few days and it’s the most dirtiest places I’ve been to. Food wasn’t all that great. People smoking inside restaurants and the subways, gosh…don’t even get me started. I don’t recommend Paris at all.
why season everything with these vinegary shallots ? you put far too much of it in the oyster! "we" "calm" the vinegar with a "gloups" of dry white wine (Muscadet). Crab and langoustines are eaten mostly with a french freshly made mayonnaise, and the little grey shrimpies with bread (a baguette will do) and local Briton salted butter.
@hkhou you should know that previous to serve the oysters, these have to be emptied from their first water. five minutes later they make another fresh water. Seafood in Brittany is eaten as soon it is picked up, never several weeks later..
Hey guys! You might notice we posted this on Wednesday instead of Sunday! We’re gearing up and trying to post twice a week from now on :) stay tuned!
Loved that Luke more videos please.

Now you're talking Luke. Cancale is one of my favorite spots in the whole world. Nothing better than a Breton seafood platter .

The tiny grey shrimp are the best. We get them in Belgium all the time and make croquettes with them, which we serve with fried parsley. Delicious!
Great to see Mink again. Love her input

je vis près de Cancale et Saint Malo, ce n'est pas l'Atlantique mais la Manche , voire l'Iroise.
Watching this while I eat Chex Mix. Chex Mix!!!!! 😢
C’est un sacrilège de manger les crustacés avec du vinaigre ou du citron !
Ce genre de sauce accompagne uniquement les huîtres 😉

Galette has no milk in it. Only water. It's very good with a bollée of cider (served in a bowl, a cup)

Why not try some with butter or other fabulous sauces? Vinegrette is clearly the one flavor you like. For me, it would make everything taste the same.

"Birgorneaux", with an "e".

People don't smoke inside restaurants as it is prohibited. Perhaps on specific terrace.

How do you eat all over the world and not know how to compare Languistine to crawfish?
No mention of most importance. There non French culture traditions: language etc.
In Brittany, there were two languages : the Breton language (celtic) and the Gallo (romane) which was part of the langues d'oïl, as well as French.
