What stands out with Tamu also in her rock drumming is her touch + feel, she really has an ear for the sound of the drum set as a whole, + gets the best out of the full kit in terms of rich quality tone.
What's impressive is that she can play almost every genre of music. I don't care if one is a best metal drummer, you ain't going to pickup and start playing Jazz. It's not gonna happen. But, she can. And she is a multi-instrumentalist; she can play the guitar, piano and more.

オイラ中1の時にバンドとドラム始め、始めて1年でヤマハのコンテストで関東地区ベストドラマー賞を2年連続でとりました。
スクールは通わず、独学で当時バンドブームだったので、ラウドネスの樋口崇高さんが好きで必死に練習してきてました。
しかし、タムさんのドラミングを観て、樋口崇高さんよりファンになりました。
オイラの中では貴女が一番上手い、個性的と思ってます。とにかくすごいッス🥳👍応援してます。

Q : What music genre are you good at playing?
A : I’m frequently asked this question, I have practiced hard because I don’t have a specific music genre I’m good at playing. Of course, I have favorite musicians, Dream Theater, Opeth and so on.
Loving them and being able to play their music is different though.

A : Night Verses as I mentioned. The piano was the first instrument I learned to play. I listen to classical music played with the piano.

A : I’ve had so many difficulties. I think many pro musicians are pessimism. Pro musicians should show their performances to the others and should get the others to judge their play. I think pro musicians tend to compare themselves with the other musicians. I’m the one who do that.
I have experiences that I disappointed myself not playing well, comparing with other drummers. I disappointed myself because I was fixed the stereotype of a pro drummer.
First and foremost, I am Murata Tamu before a drummer.
I realized I go through the life named “Murata Tamu”. It doesn’t need to be disappointed comparing with the others.

Q : What do you care about when practice?
A : I practiced long time, sometime all night long before. But I practice short time with concentration recently.
When I practice a simple phrase, like “ta-taka-taka-taka”, I try to play the phrase like singing instead of thinking just the hitting order of my both hands.

A : Cooking, writing songs, and drinking a lot of water!
