That’s because a batter hasn’t made up their mind “ you hit me, with equipment, I hit you with equipment” wait for the first batter to try and take out a pitchers leg .... then mlb will do something that matters.
Feels like more people just need to have balls to throw at people when they deem it necessary. People would be less quick to throw at batters if they knew a volley of baseballs could be launched from the dugout at any time.
Thanks for doing the breakdown as requested. Also something to note: Ty France currently leads the Majors in HBPs, and has been for most of the season. The Mariners (and Mariners fans) are tired of watching him get hit by pitches, especially when it's from the Asstros.
My wife and I were FREAKING out when this was happening live. So I called my brother and we all enjoyed the last moments of the game together, especially all the ejections and Julio shutting up the Cheatstros with that homer. My bro at some point during the end of the game mentioned a TH-camr named JMBaseball who not only recaps MLB moments in an informative manner, and who also hates the Astros, but does it in an entertaining way by providing lip reading translations, which is AWESOME because I always wonder what the players and umps and coaches are saying. We were all really hoping you'd do this video, despite it being about the Mariners, and you did! So a big THANK YOU from all of us, great vid! #GoMariners #NewSubscriber
as a Phillies fan just want to say we used to have Neris and he is absolutely capable of throwing pitches that far out of the strike zone with no intent whatsoever. Dude throws some wicked stuff but you have no idea where it's going most of the time
Watching benches clear to have the guys go stare at each other looks so moronic every time, especially compared to hockey. If they wanna brawl, let 'em. Not this lame stuff they do whenever someone gets looked at wrong. Honestly embarrassing to be involved but thats the culture of the mlb
You're thinking about this backwards. The MLB basically doesn't punish fights and is super lenient on intentionally throwing at batters, which has ended careers. The MLB needs to shut this kind of crap down, not "just let 'em brawl".
Love the effort, but research was definitely lacking compared to other breakdowns. Game was in Houston, not Seattle. Should have mentioned how Ty France leads the league this year and last in HBP. Also should have mentioned Kyle Lewis got nailed in the ear from a Houston pitcher in the previous series in Seattle and went on concussion protocol. There’s a lot of tension between the teams.
My favorite part of this video was missed by my guy @jomboy! 4:03 where Neris goes full Hawaiian vacation lounge for the throw down to second! Keep it up jombs, videos are killers as always!
Don't forget that Scotty and Lopez have history when JP Crawford got hit by a pitch and Scott let em have it. There was actually a breakdown for that too. Also, Mariners sorta upset that Kyle Lewis got a concussion off a hit by pitch by the Astros almost immediately after he got healthy.

Veteran move by the rookie Julio. I didn’t realize he was holding back the pitcher to keep him in the game while I watched this live. That makes it even better
I figured they were friends, and they wouldn't fight even if directed to do so, so when they "paired off" in the scrum it was pretty much an agreement they'd both just get the hell out of the way.
Man I love Jomboy but he got some things wrong here… The astros were shouting at Ty France from the dugout for asking for the challenge and Scott was shouting back just sticking up for his player. I think that’s what the “ya just gotta ask” was about. The Astros had also hit Kyle Lewis in the head in a previous game giving him a concussion, and the Ms had thrown inside on Kyle Tucker earlier in this game, which might have been why the Ms thought this HBP was intentional
Prolly makes more sense to throw at a dude. The mariners aren’t going to catch the astros no matter what happens in this game, so if you put it in their mind that you’ll throw at them at any time, you’ll have shorter at-bats with a team you face all the time, and you can save your pitchers.
my best friend was a major league pitcher in 80’s. I asked him one time “how many times is it not on purpose?” His immediate response was zero of the time. Its always on purpose. Period
Bullshit. Nolan Ryan had notoriously shitty command, many pitchers do. There are tons of reasons batters get hit, from sweaty hands/grip issues to shitty plate command to breaking balls that don't travel like they were supposed to. And also, retaliation. But it is absolutely not ALWAYS on purpose.
On purpose. Big league pitchers have too much pitching skills to do something like that. Any pitcher that hits a batter should be ejected immediately. Give the pitcher a very heavy fine if the ball is above the shoulders.
Jomboy, there is something huge you completely failed to acknowledge in this video; in the series before this the Astros hit Kyle Lewis in the head, placing him on the IL with a concussion which he has not recovered from yet.
Nah it slipped. Neris slips a lot. He's always been wild. Watched him the past few years in Philly. Neris just loses control at times. You can also clearly see his reaction as he lets it go. Neris was wincing before the ball got to Suarez. Clearly didn't mean it. However warnings were issued, and control issues or not, the warnings were issued so that's pretty much an automatic ejection. I have no qualms about it. But as someone's who frustratingly watched Neris for a few seasons. 100% not intentional.
@@waterbrojoe1251 look at the replay again. Look at Neris immediate reaction after he lets it go. Tell me that's the body language of someone actually head hunting. I'm no Neris fan. on purpose. it’s slick because they can say “why would we put a runner on in a tight game in the 9th”. when in reality it’s one base runner with 2 outs and they trust their late inning guy not to give up 2 straight hits to score him. so it’s the perfect cover up for a chance to plunk them

gotta love jomboy not letting a chance to shout out "behind enemy lines" in the middle of a hectic moment of commentary needed, this man is a master
@@gl22222 Yeah, everybody knows it was Mooseport. Jomboy blew it.
Ah, man, I am in tears with nearly every video you call ....... I am laughing so hard I have tears streaming. My wife asks me what's so funny, and I can't show her these .... I would have to mute it!!!!
Your lip reading skills a so frickin' funny. I think you should go to the games and call the game over the public address. Thank you so much - you are the GOAT !!!
Jomboy should do a video of his favorite rules and a play that was affected by the rule. Just and idea. Love the videos jomboy
I second this motion!
I third this!!
As a Phillies fan, I can tell you Neris is just wild.
Maybe it's just cause my exposure to baseball is mainly Jomboy, but I feel like throwing at batters happens a lot more than it should.
feel like it's been on the uptick this year in general.
it doesnt happen very often intentionally
It's a great way to get onto a Jomboy breakdown..
He also led the league last year. I think it's just how he bats leaning to the plate. The elbow protection makes him bolder too.
"bombbbbbbs a homer to right field....just barely over the wall" 🤣
Dude, I was laughing so loud when you were "F*ck you!" everytime.
Jomboy’s got the greatest stfu. A lot of good stfu’s out there but jomboy is elite with it😂😂
Oh joy, another mariners Jomboy breakdown incoming :)
as a Phillies fan just want to say we used to have Neris and he is absolutely capable of throwing pitches that far out of the strike zone with no intent whatsoever. Dude throws some wicked stuff but you have no idea where it's going most of the time
Mariners breakdowns are always the funniest
" SCOTT SHUT THE FUCK UP"
Had me rolling
Watching benches clear to have the guys go stare at each other looks so moronic every time, especially compared to hockey. If they wanna brawl, let 'em. Not this lame stuff they do whenever someone gets looked at wrong. Honestly embarrassing to be involved but thats the culture of the mlb
They don't want to brawl, they just will feel insecure if they don't act like they do
the best part is watching the bullpens casually jog in like they are gonna do anything
Baseball is a clown sport, played by clowns.....seriously. CLOWNS.
You're thinking about this backwards. The MLB basically doesn't punish fights and is super lenient on intentionally throwing at batters, which has ended careers. The MLB needs to shut this kind of crap down, not "just let 'em brawl".
@@8stormy5 pitchers wouldnt hit batters if the batter could hit back.
“Scott, shut the f up” was so funny to me.
As a Phillies fan, not on purpose. Neris has plenty of games where he just has 0 control over any of his stuff.
Ya when I saw it was Neris - "classic Neris! And then gives up the home run! Some things never change"
Jomboy will take any chance he can to smear the Astros

3:23 - the moment I realized I found myself a gem of a channel & subscribed! ❤
It's the Mariners so why would he put any research into it?
“I studied your stuff, I need you to stay in this game”😂
damn, that last pitch was dangerous as hell. Even if its unintentional, you deserve to be tossed if your control is that bad.
My favorite part of this video was missed by my guy @jomboy! 4:03 where Neris goes full Hawaiian vacation lounge for the throw down to second! Keep it up jombs, videos are killers as always!
Came for the breakdown, stayed for the “Behind Enemy Lines” review. Thanks Jomboy!
Been waiting for this one! Let’s go Mariners!
Y’all are getting close to 2 million Subscribers. That is definitely not horse 💩, that’s pretty freakin cool is what it is.
I share your videos to family and friends so hopefully if everyone’s doing it you’ll be there real soon.

I'm just going to join the surprising chorus of voices thanking JomBoy for acknowledging the Mariners.
Yes, it's gotten to that point with this franchise. xD
Just be glad you're not an Oakland A's fan like me.
@@robbhahn8897 Oakland has seen the playoffs fairly recently, and have won World Series. No point of comparison is possible. xD
Gene Hackman actually did 2 more movies after "Behind Enemy Lines".

Welcome to Mooseport in 2004.
You had it right. The Mariners beating someone in Seattle is something that doesn't happen that often.
Then good thing this game was in Houston. 😁😝😁
That’s clearly Minute Maid in Houston
Throwing at the Mariners is like bullying a friendless kid on the bus. What are you trying to prove? FTA.
no idea who this ump is, but it seems to me like he handled this situation perfectly. need more moments like this
Jomboy Media thank you 🙏 so much for your awesome videos with your hilarious commentary. Absolutely loved your best lip reading compilation and hopefully you are making a pt 2. Oh yea and that episode of wheel of fortune you covered with them trying to figure out pedal, pattle, peddle, and finally Paddle Boat. One of your best! Keep ‘em coming!
Let’s go I’ve been waiting for this one
I’m not seeing jomboy in my feed. Every other sports pops up and this is the only one I’m subbed to.
Not enough breakdowns. You guys are growing and that's great, less Instagram spam and MORE TH-cam breakdowns please.
Your narration makes baseball a lot more interesting.
The new mlb rivalry between Mariners and Astros been brewing past couple of seasons
Astros are such piles of 💩
@3:02;
"This is just alot of--nothing, really. But that's always what it is."
Is the most accurate description of the majority of sports altercations. Lol
I've been waiting for this one. You didn't disappoint! 😀
Glad I didn’t have to hold a sign up at a game to get a breakdown this year! Thanks for the good breakdown. Go M’s!
“I want you to stay in this game, I’ve studied your stuff” 😂😂😂😂😂
Also 2 games later, the Astros hit Rodriguez twice in a game.
Julio just hugged another Astros pitcher in the same way yesterday lol. Seems like its his go-to
Let’s all give a round of applause to perhaps the only fair and decent umpire left in MLB
"Owen Wilson, good movie...departure from comedy but it plays well..."
Still makes me laugh a year later 😂
If Angel Hernandez was behind the plate both those pitches would have been called strikes.
Thanks to Jomboy I get this comment
Can we give some credit to the umps here? I think they handled this perfectly
Jomboy has singlehandedly made me fall in love with the mariners manager
Someone should just ask the pitcher, “Was that on purpose, or do you just suck at pitching?”
Prolly makes more sense to throw at a dude. The mariners aren’t going to catch the astros no matter what happens in this game, so if you put it in their mind that you’ll throw at them at any time, you’ll have shorter at-bats with a team you face all the time, and you can save your pitchers.
This game was weird because I had no idea what was happening or why they had been ejected the first time.
I came in right when Betis was ejected and was like wtf? Manger and pitched ejected off 1 pitch? Now I see why lol
I kinda like this home plate ump. He seems to give a shit about doing it right. At least in this little snippet of his career.
Definitely on Purpose, Astros have been doing this to the M’s for years, finally Scott decided it was enough
But when Jeremy Peña, Alvarez, and Siri got hit dusty didn’t complain🤷♂️
@@spinxo9791 it's not even comparable. Like not even close. Kyle Lewis has been out with a fucking concussion for 2 weeks.
@@the7A7dude not comparable cause the Ms pitchers don’t have enough accuracy to hit the right spot😂
@@spinxo9791 our pitching for the most part has not been the issue
The Mariners may not have a playoff appearances in the past 20 years but we do have an excellent Jamboy breakdown.
my best friend was a major league pitcher in 80’s.
Your videos are GOLD, as someone who watches hours a day of baseball. I love these
I really don’t know on Ty France but the one on Suarez was 100% on purpose
Nah it slipped. Neris slips a lot. He's always been wild. Watched him the past few years in Philly. Neris just loses control at times. You can also clearly see his reaction as he lets it go. Neris was wincing before the ball got to Suarez. Clearly didn't mean it. However warnings were issued, and control issues or not, the warnings were issued so that's pretty much an automatic ejection. I have no qualms about it. But as someone's who frustratingly watched Neris for a few seasons. 100% not intentional.
@@maniacmatt1782 I can understand the one with France slipping but the one Suarez was for sure intentional and at the head.
@@waterbrojoe1251 look at the replay again. Look at Neris immediate reaction after he lets it go. Tell me that's the body language of someone actually head hunting. I'm no Neris fan. We frustratingly had quite a few years of him here in Philly. He wasn't headhunting, I can say with absolute certainty.
@@maniacmatt1782 Because when I want to stay in the game I am going to say I hit him on purpose. If he wants to stay in the game you play dumb and say I didn’t mean to throw a a ball at someone’s head after a benches clearing altercation and then HR by the other team.
@@maniacmatt1782 it's the Astros though
These videos are immortal for baseball fans of all future generations
on purpose. it’s slick because they can say “why would we put a runner on in a tight game in the 9th”. when in reality it’s one base runner with 2 outs and they trust their late inning guy not to give up 2 straight hits to score him. so it’s the perfect cover up for a chance to plunk them
But that late inning guy literally gave up a HR and put the game out of reach right after so that logic makes no sense
@@vintagepokeopenings178 a sample size of 1?.. you don’t rlly baseball much do you. before that HR Neris had given up 1 HR in the last 24 innings this year.
@@tctvol the point I’m making is you don’t just hit a guy when you’re down by a run in the 9th inning for this exact reason. Idc if you’re Trevor Hoffman or Mariano Rivera, you’re still extending the inning and giving the opposing team a chance to extend the lead, no matter how good of a pitcher you are.
jomboy is the best thing to happen to baseball in decades
