Hey everyone, apologies I have a correction. After recording I discovered the horsepower output was 313hp incl. Boost: "The drive units deliver a combined output of 313hp (including temporary boost) and overall torque of 494Nm"
One good aspect most reviewers seem to forget is the very good BMW voice command feature. Have to admit, having owned iX1 now (Germany) for 6 months & done nearly 8,000km, I forget it too for most functions except Navigation & Phone! Recognises if driver or passenger giving command & almost all functions can be accessed. "I'm cold" will increase heat, or you say "Heat to 22°", "My hands are cold" switches on steering wheel heating, "My hands are still cold" will increase s/wheel heat level further, "Open passenger window half way" will do exactly that. Radio station, volume, seat massage etc etc. Using wireless Android Auto & Apple Car Play will switch to their voice commands & Amazon Alexa can also be integrated.
It certainly is a good voice assistant! I covered Hey Mercedes vs Hey BMW here: th-cam.com/video/XyrUcNmxzQs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Kv07PhrriHpWBq4a There’s so many cool things you can do in that!
@npoleary Brilliant, loved the video & learnt some more, thanks. As a Brit with not too bad a German/Bavarian accent, I do have extra problems. I would prefer to have English even in Germany, but then it gets 300% worse particularly in Navigation! Was in UK recently and there no problems at all as I could still remember how to pronounce Happisburgh 🙃. What I haven't yet been able to solve is BMW in German but on Android auto the Google voice is in English despite my mobile being set to German. The nicest rhd/lhd feature I found was LED adaptive headlights switching over at a push of a button. Not sure if that works with voice command. I just checked out my 2023 BMW iX1 with sunroof - the blind & roof can be operated by voice command. Again thanks.
Had one since April. Superb driving machine, very practical and a great sharing car - settings (seat, mirrors, displays, music, etc, etc) all set when either my wife’s or my key and/or phone unlock the car. Our 3rd EV in 7 years.
Hi Nick.. great video again. I have recently gone from a Mercedes A250e premium plus salon to the BMW ix1 Msport, 2 completely different cars. My first observation are that the BMW has a more sporty feel unlike the Mercedes smoother drive. Mercedes MBUX system seemed a lot easier to use but that could be that I'm not to familiar with the BMW system Mercedes specs seems a lot more straightforward ie sports range to premium plus clearly shows what you are getting, with BMW you seem to have to add different options and not always get the right combination, for example M sport package you don't get electric adjustable seats as standard, when you think that my spec was over £58000 this seems a bit stingy. Overall very happy with the drive but suppose after having a Mercedes for 3 years my new car will take some getting used to. If you could do a video like you have done with the Mercedes regards tips and tricks that would come in very handy. Really enjoyed your review and great to see you new video's keep up the good work
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! Absolutely, my goal is to continue to grow my channel and produce content for all. Make sure you’re subscribed and I will do my very best to make sure I make the best content for everyone!
Really liking this car. Saw the starting price and got more exited. But you easily add 40% in price when checking some options 😂 will definitely need to play around with the configurator to find my sweet spot. Only technical downside of this card would be the charging speed. 130kw is not what you expect from a modern EV in this price range.
Nick…I watched because of you. You are the new Top Gear, before it became too much of a show, and forgot the story and review of the car. Thank you again for a great video. Still Merc guy though : )
Awh thank you! Not sure I’m the new Top Gear though, although I do have some exciting plans for the future! 👀 My goal is to cover Premium brands on my channel but as I own a Mercedes for now that content will always be there and I’ll keep it coming! Let me know what you want to see!
Great video Nick as always! Really like everything you do covering Mercedes models and was refreshing to see you review other models. Personally I would like to hear what you don't like about the car as well as I think that will help in the fute. The iX1 is certainly one of the better looking BMW's but I have to say it looks a little small, almost similar in size to a GLA maybe and I can't believe that boot is 490 litres!
It has lots of space underneath! Haha Glad you’re enjoying, honestly the pros and cons will come with time and experience so I’ll try and offer that in future the more I do it. I’ll keep the videos coming!
Great review Nick - I`m about to collect my iX1 this week and really looking forward to my first experience of owning an EV. Pod Point being installed soon so onwards and upwards for the planet...!
Ah awesome thank you! It was a cracking car and I was gutted when I gave it back! Ah nice! 👌🏼 Make sure you check out getting an off peak tariff (when to charge for the cheapest rates at night) etc 🤓
Thank you! But the very next video I made was about parking! So be sure to check out the other videos on my channel too! www.youtube.com/@npoleary/search?query=bmw%20parking
Hard to say, both are very nice to drive! I did miss this when I had to give it back though! I’m testing EV’s still at the moment, not sure what one I would pick but I’ve got a lot of time to go yet before the end of my lease on my car 😅 Have you seen the Tesla Model Y Review recently that I did?
Hi, I'm writing to you from Italy, thanks for your very useful videos. I like BMW ix1 base edrive 20 limited edition but also Smart #3 Pro Plus, I saw that you reviewed them both, I ask you please if you can recommend one of the two regardless of the internal space, I like them both but it's difficult choose. Sorry if the translation isn't perfect. I hope you can give me your opinion and also those who drove both. A thousand thanks
Awh thank you! 🙏 If I was choosing between the two I’d go BMW. Honestly I missed that car when it went back. Build Quality was very good and felt extremely Premium and had a very angular look on the exterior which I quite liked. Plus the optional sounds for when accelerating were awesome! Really want to check out some more BMW product after this one!
@@npoleary Thank you very much, does the same apply even if it is the basic BMW ix1 edrive 20 with a 200 horsepower engine? Which costs the same as the Smart Pro Plus model with a 272 horsepower Volvo engine which also includes a panoramic roof and was born as a pure electric? Sorry, from what you could see, better infotainment and voice commands between the two?
Sadly not driven that one (it actually didn’t exist when I reviewed it) But I’m sure it’ll be exactly the same just not as powerful. Trust me the one I drove was very fast! I find the infotainment better in the BMW but if you’re using Apple CarPlay / Android Auto then that may look easier to see and read on the smart had is a closer / larger screen. Sadly not tried the in-built charging networks of each but I would like to (the way it integrates charging in public with the screen)
Can you please show du how to take the black cover off the Mercedes me app. We have a black cover over our Mercedes car in the Mercedes me app and we dont know how we can take it off. Could you help is?
I saw your message on the other videos too, don't worry I read and try to reply to all of them on my channel. Or you can email me too "contact@npo-media.co.uk". This is what I said on the other one: Oh once all of the Mercedes me services / digital extras are switched on, it disappears after a couple of days. That’s what it did for my car anyway when I bought it.
Any idea how is the spec comparison for the new upcoming ix1 model? I am in the midst to pick either current ready stock ix1 30m sport ev or the new one which i dont know the spec
Great video. You talk about size and back seats, having long legs etc… missed one vital piece of information.. how tall are you? because long legs is all relative 😅
Nice review. I guess my V167 GLE does have a fan in the wireless charger pad. If we remove the front rubber pad (which is perforated) one can get a glimpse of the duct. BTW, have been following you since your "tips and tricks", nice👍👍. Matt of carwow has a competitor 😂
Haha thank you! Ah interesting! Defo wouldn’t describe Matt as a competitor! What they do is amazing on CarWow. Although I don’t have a stick of truth in my videos or a “YEET” for the parcel shelf 😂
Both have their pros and cons 🤓 Stay subscribed to the channel as I’m testing one of those two today you mentioned again and I’ll make a couple of references to this video 👍🏼
Ah yes, well since filming this video the Volkswagen also has a 15” screen too! Question though, I have filmed a car with a 55” piece of glass going across the dashboard, have you seen that? It’s like a spaceship 😂 th-cam.com/video/exF9NGPkeuY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Q5vBqvL0XfQ1Crl2
Great review! Few things: 1) how do you find the ride quality? I’ve read online and that it’s quite firm? 2) What real world range did you get from this? I know it’s stated for circa 260 miles, but EV’s typically don’t get their rated range. Thanks!
Thank you! Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it! Well I only had the car a short while so chose to make 3 videos rather than just the one so never got round to doing a complete range test. But handily WLTP does that for everyone. On any EV the range you see is achieveable but…you would have to replicate the exact conditions that the tests were performed in. So barely any traffic, 23°C ambient temp and no use of A/C heating. So with all EV’s take a bit off the figure and with day to day driving in traffic etc, that what you’ll actually see. I would estimate 220 miles for most conditions, just bear in mind in winter it will go down a bit because of use of heating etc.
Ooo I’d love to! I’ve only just started reviewing BMW’s so bear with me 🤓 I’m hoping to get them on board so I can produce reviews on all of them and tutorials on how things work too!
Sorry only just spotted your comment, it hadn’t popped up as notifications :( Really sorry I only had the one car for a week so won’t know the differences in ride etc as this is the first BMW I’ve reviewed. Thanks for watching and commenting though! It would imagine smaller wheels would be softer but I wouldn’t have described the ride as hard on the wheels it had. I really did consider doing a range test but decided to go with making 3 videos instead of one big one.
@@npoleary tks a lot for the reply. Is space silver metallic also nice? What are the colours available for ix1 and which looks the best ..can you pls tell or make a video on different colours it has and how it looks in reality instead of digital pics which are not always as it looks on pics
No worries! Sadly I was only given this one by BMW to film so haven’t seen any others just yet. But…I as this is the first BMW I’ve filmed (so glad you’ve seen the first!) I want to continue to do it in the future and cover them so everyone can see videos on each model. For colours I’d always suggest seeing them in a dealerships if you can, that way you can actually see them in person 🙏
@@npolearytks again for the quick reply. I am thinking between Space silver metallic and Mineral white since freeze pure grey is expensive. Have you seen these two colors (space metallic grey and mineral white) in any other models of BMW and which one you liked if you have seen.
They’re very similar, metallic is easier to maintain. Matte paints require certain cleaning products so for example you can’t use polish on them. As I cover BMW more I’d love to include colours and things in future videos. If you’re from the UK BMW do have a configurator that you can tweak and change But defo check them out in person with real lighting 👍🏼
BMW or Mercedes Nick? I am due an upgrade soon currently have the 2020 Mercedes CLA and still love it. Tempted to either order or again or I do like the look of the BMW X1 or X3. Looked into the Merc GLC and I’m not in love with it.
Haha an excellent question! However bear with me, only just started covering BMW now on my channel (this is the first video) 😅 There’s a new CLA coming out soon with Mercedes but there again BMW will have similar models. It all comes down to user preference, my aim of my channel is to cover Premium Manufacturers so hopefully I’ll be covering more BMW’s in the future. But, I was certainly impressed with this one! Are you thinking a higher ride car? Like an SUV?
@@npoleary I’m not sure open to options either an SUV or another 5 door coupe. I must look into BMW I’ve never bought a car from them I always thought the interior was very dated with the orange dials etc. but the newer ones look lovely.
I would always advise to make sure you exactly the same tyre size, you might find that due incorrect size it could show the incorrect speed on the dashboard or even affect the ABS system. At higher speeds it could even become unstable. This is because the car would have been calibrated for a specific tyre size.
I frequently switch from Mercedes to BMW, and frankly, prefer MB overall, except for the BMW front seats! They are superior (5 series)….as for their rear seats….your demonstration says it all. Not good. One other complaint about BMW is their slow updates to the interior cabin.
@@npoleary Nick, I have watched your excellent presentations on the electrics and have also attended a Mercedes event where I got to drive an EQS. All of these factors make me quite positive about them, theoretically. The price factor of the EQS is a consideration, and I still have range concerns due to the purpose of the vehicle.
Thank you! Glad you’ve enjoyed the videos! I want to keep them coming in the future! Reviews / Comparisons / Electric Topics and all sorts so always open to suggestions!

7:07 - that storage is a joke. Don't get why they didn't make that central thing a fully enclosed storage bin. Under that lid you can't even fit the keys. And in the EU market it opens the same way, which is easier to access. That is unfortunately not the only downside with this car. I was disappointed by it to be honest. I've driven a 2021 diesel model 3, and was expecting more from BMW.
Could it be use for coins? Like for parking etc, I’ve got pound coins in central storage for trolleys! Haha
ปีที่แล้ว
@@npoleary There is a smaller compartment designed for coins (I think), besides, how many coins you need? xD Usually when I drive a normal car I turn on the music so it covers the engine noise (unfortunately my 2 liter diesel doesn't make a nice sound worth listening to), but in this car I disbled even the climate so I can listen to quiteness. Imagine now having a bunch of coins rattling in the middle armrest. Not the best experience imo xD
Sadly I didn’t myself perform a range test, I only had the car for a week so wanted to maximise my time with it and produce 3 videos (range test might have taken longer) But…according to BMW its power consumption is 3.4 to 3.6 mi/kWh
Can anyone help, I have ordered a BMW ix1 xDrive30 SUV 66.5kWh 313 M Sport but can't work out if this car comes with the blacked out grill like the video. The visualiser of the website I ordered (company car) only shown " illustration purpose only, and may not be exact model" and when I build the same car on the BMW website it shows as a chrome grill with like hexagon markings on the grill. Im confessed, can someone help. I really like the blacked out grill on this model and believe the one I've ordered is the same model. TIA
I’ve had a look on their website but can’t see where it might be. When I had this car it was a Press Car so I try not to go through exact specs of a car because they can change once the video’s been produced and it’ll vary round the world too (each country will most likely have it’s own spec) Just wondering if the specs changed when BMW introduced the BMW iX1 eDrive20 M Sport (since I made the video) Might be worth giving them a shout? I’m sure they’ll be happy to help and explain what the black bit was about.
@@npoleary Thank you for the reply. The only thing i can think of is if the new hex pattern grill is for cars produced 2024 onwards. I have tried to contact BMW but they give me stock answer of because its not ordered through us we cant confirm either or, which is frustrating. Looking forward to having the car and if worse come to worse i will try to out source the blacked out grill.
No worries! It’ll be great either way. This was the first BMW I had checked out in depth and it’s great 👍🏼 Definitely opened up my eyes to other brands! I actually miss it! 😅
@@npolearyI never considered an EV and currently have E-Pace Jaguar 2018 but really disappointed in it and would never go back to JLR. The choice of the EV company car was between EQA and BMW iX1 think the sporty look of the iX1 has defiantly been the deal breaker, but it really could of gone either way.
Obviously the center console of the car is for left hand drive, the opening cover and gear knob was not user friendly for right hand drive, why BMW not allocated the "correct" center console for the right hand drive version? This indeed redicurios.
That’s not a BMW thing, all car manufacturers do this. I’ve seen reviews online of other cars that do the same thing and all of the brands I cover on my channel do this too.
Some cars have wheels and knobs or touchpads to control the screen. Quite a lot of cars I’ve reviewed over the past few years have had a touchpad in the middle 🤓
Nice looking car, I agree with preferring a black interior. I almost brought the bigger iX3 but sadly the range killed it for me. I’d imagine this would be a similar range on full charge.
Very nice! Honestly a fan of all German cars! They all do things slightly differently and I think these days it just comes down to personal preference. Hopefully going forward I can produce more videos like this! 🤞🏼
Just wondering, a few questions are they hard on tyres because of the massive weight of the batteries, the range does it drop in cold weather, do you suffer from range anxiety, second hand value is it very bad, I hear all these things are the really true some of my friends had a Porsche Taycan cost €170,000 he only had it for 9 Months gave a lot of trouble and dropped a lot of money, so are people mad buying electric cars and the power generated for your can they use fossil fuels, looking forward to hear what you think.
Tyre wear could be increased because they are so responsive but EV’s do have beefier tyres to cope with the extra weight. Just depends on how you drive 🤓 For the range, any battery in the cold will always perform worse so it’s just a characteristic of EVs and something owners would just need to plan for. For values sadly I wouldn’t know about what each car models price would do once purchased but check out used ones on AutoTrader or something and it might give you a bit more of an indication.
I went to see the ix1. And i would recommend you to do that. The car is much smaller than described. I would say claustrophobic. The build quality is good but not perfect. Too many cheap materials mixed with some good ones. From what i saw i didnt want to ask for a test drive. The car did not clicked to me for almost 60000 euros. Just to say though i asked before a week for a test drive through the official bmw site. Never got an answer back...
Oh really how strange, have you messaged them again? I thought it was quite practical but…depends what you need. If you need larger, BMW do offer larger models! 🤓
I guess that’s one way of putting it 😂 Joking aside though, it’s actually alright! I cleaned while I had it to (carefully!) I wouldn’t have chosen that paint previously but it grows on you in person
It would have been helpful if you had indicated what the price of the car was. Whilst you spent a lot of time talking about the aesthetics of the lights interior etc, these are subjective to each persons view. More time could have been spent on the performance of the car and the battery life etc in everyday use.
Thank you for the feedback, I had only just gone full time on TH-cam prior to this so now I would hope the videos are much better over a year later. I now include segments such as price, packages etc, pros and cons and even time the performance of the car on test too!

Does anyone else with the iX1 have loud brake squeal every time you come to a slow stop like this? th-cam.com/video/GjB-FZw3WrQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pkBOsidRH5LhZjOe
That’s pretty normal for brakes to do this as you pull away. As the brake callipers release their tension is lifted and as such can introduce small vibrations which can be heard as higher pitched sounds. Car manufacturers will always try their best to lessen this impact, but it’s a balance of good braking performance and keeping them as quiet as possible and especially when an EV is involved as they are heavier which require larger brakes. Brakes will accumulate dirt from the road, which can amplify this further. Being an EV, brake recuperation slows the car down first then the brakes come in meaning they are used less. This is the same for all EV’s. This means that any dirt that is on there could appear as a squeal or a little release noise like in your video. Although a completely separate brand, Porsche did an amazing video explaining brake noise and the lengths that car manufacturers go to, to try their best to prevent it. But due to the way they work, it will and can always happen. th-cam.com/video/fUNHb9O52WQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=D2CuDUdEeouf8-K9 To summarise the heavier the car, the larger the brakes, the more this can happen so completely normal and not a fault.
Sheesh you did not even show the frunk nor engine nor breaking features. Looks like my 2006 toyota corolla is better than this bmw and will outlast it.
It doesn’t have a frunk sadly, or course the internal components are in there but I didn’t feel the need to show anyone as there isn’t that much to see
How to take a brand and completely ruin the image the worst looking car by bmw yet. Why is it that electric cars have such a bad design what the hell is going on. 😮
Hey everyone, apologies I have a correction. After recording I discovered the horsepower output was 313hp incl. Boost:
"The drive units deliver a combined output of 313hp (including temporary boost) and overall torque of 494Nm"
I covered Hey Mercedes vs Hey BMW here:

Only technical downside of this card would be the charging speed. 130kw is not what you expect from a modern EV in this price range.
Nick…I watched because of you. You are the new Top Gear, before it became too much of a show, and forgot the story and review of the car. Thank you again for a great video. Still Merc guy though : )
Awh thank you! Not sure I’m the new Top Gear though, although I do have some exciting plans for the future! 👀
My goal is to cover Premium brands on my channel but as I own a Mercedes for now that content will always be there and I’ll keep it coming!
Haha
Glad you’re enjoying, honestly the pros and cons will come with time and experience so I’ll try and offer that in future the more I do it.
I’ll keep the videos coming!
Great to see you in the BMW range.
Haha thanks 🙏 What’s your favourite? Do you drive one now? 🤓
@@npoleary I have the e220 convertible. Before this it was bmw 6 series. I’m torn between these brands. Can you test drive the ix5?
Loving the new channel nick ❤❤❤

Great review Nick - I`m about to collect my iX1 this week and really looking forward to my first experience of owning an EV. Pod Point being installed soon so onwards and upwards for the planet...!
Ah awesome thank you!
It was a cracking car and I was gutted when I gave it back!
Ah nice! 👌🏼
Make sure you check out getting an off peak tariff (when to charge for the cheapest rates at night) etc 🤓

Thank you! But the very next video I made was about parking! So be sure to check out the other videos on my channel too!

Hi Nick, Again Great Video, it seems like BMW ix1 Vs MB EQA
Haha yeah that would be a good video! 🙏
They should aell this in the states.
Looks good. I’d personally want a tad more range, but not a bad effort from BMW!
Amazing review! Would you pick this or the tesla model y? Thanks!
Hard to say, both are very nice to drive!
I did miss this when I had to give it back though!
I’m testing EV’s still at the moment, not sure what one I would pick but I’ve got a lot of time to go yet before the end of my lease on my car 😅
Have you seen the Tesla Model Y Review recently that I did?
Hi, I'm writing to you from Italy, thanks for your very useful videos. I like BMW ix1 base edrive 20 limited edition but also Smart #3 Pro Plus, I saw that you reviewed them both, I ask you please if you can recommend one of the two regardless of the internal space, I like them both but it's difficult choose. Sorry if the translation isn't perfect. I hope you can give me your opinion and also those who drove both. A thousand thanks
Awh thank you! 🙏
If I was choosing between the two I’d go BMW.
Sadly not driven that one (it actually didn’t exist when I reviewed it)
But I’m sure it’ll be exactly the same just not as powerful.
OK thanks for the advice@@npoleary
@andreac5297 no worries!
This car apparently beats all SUVs in this range in all aspects in totaliy. Is that right?
Yes.
Any idea how is the spec comparison for the new upcoming ix1 model? I am in the midst to pick either current ready stock ix1 30m sport ev or the new one which i dont know the spec
Really sorry not had access to the newest configuration! If I do though I’ll be sure to cover it!
Great video. You talk about size and back seats, having long legs etc… missed one vital piece of information.. how tall are you? because long legs is all relative 😅
Ah I usually say in videos sorry!
6ft 2” 👍🏼
Nice review. I guess my V167 GLE does have a fan in the wireless charger pad. If we remove the front rubber pad (which is perforated) one can get a glimpse of the duct. BTW, have been following you since your "tips and tricks", nice👍👍. Matt of carwow has a competitor 😂
Haha thank you! Ah interesting!
Defo wouldn’t describe Matt as a competitor! What they do is amazing on CarWow.
Although I don’t have a stick of truth in my videos or a “YEET” for the parcel shelf 😂
would you prefer a Mercedes EQA 250+ or BMW iX1 edrive 20?
Both have their pros and cons 🤓
Stay subscribed to the channel as I’m testing one of those two today you mentioned again and I’ll make a couple of references to this video 👍🏼

Don’t know what Nokia you had but it’s just over 10” for both multimedia system and over 10” for the instrument cluster so pretty big!
@@npoleary Maybe the norm is now different for me, Model 3/Y has 15" screen, Mach-E has 15.5, etc
Ah yes, well since filming this video the Volkswagen also has a 15” screen too!

Hi Nick, which color is the car in the video?
I believe it’s BMW Individual Frozen Pure Grey
Hi Nick, I'd really like to see you review the Mercedes EQE SUV 500. I am considering one of those to replace my Tesla. Thanks.
Hopefully if I get my hands on one, I’d love to! Hopefully by the end of the year 🤓
What color is that? Frozen grey?
Yeah I love it!
BMW Individual Frozen Pure Grey
When are you going to review BMW ix1 edrive 20. Heard it's much better than edrive 30
I’d love to! If BMW have one I’d love to check it out 🤓
Great review!
Great review. Could you do a review of the x5 50e as well? Thanks
Ooo I’d love to! I’ve only just started reviewing BMW’s so bear with me 🤓 I’m hoping to get them on board so I can produce reviews on all of them and tutorials on how things work too!
@@npoleary thanks Nick
You recommend the 18 inch tires or the 20?
What do you think of the range?
Sorry only just spotted your comment, it hadn’t popped up as notifications :(
Really sorry I only had the one car for a week so won’t know the differences in ride etc as this is the first BMW I’ve reviewed. Thanks for watching and commenting though!
It would imagine smaller wheels would be softer but I wouldn’t have described the ride as hard on the wheels it had.
I really did consider doing a range test but decided to go with making 3 videos instead of one big one.
What is the color description of the car you were driving
BMW Individual Frozen Pure Grey
If you’re from the UK BMW do have a configurator that you can tweak and change
But defo check them out in person with real lighting 👍🏼
Do they have a smaller battery powerd ixi
Why do you want even more smaller battery
hi does it have electric seats thanks
On the one I drove yes 🤓
But double check with your local BMW (or wherever you order from) for the exact specs on the car you’re looking at 👍🏼
BMW or Mercedes Nick? I am due an upgrade soon currently have the 2020 Mercedes CLA and still love it. Tempted to either order or again or I do like the look of the BMW X1 or X3. Looked into the Merc GLC and I’m not in love with it.
Haha an excellent question! However bear with me, only just started covering BMW now on my channel (this is the first video) 😅
There’s a new CLA coming out soon with Mercedes but there again BMW will have similar models.
All down to what you fancy
Try them all, I’m sure you’ll prefer one over the other. You might prefer the look of one but then the drive of the other 🤓
Anyone knows if I can use 235 50 r19 tyres instead of 245 45 r19 in this model? Thanks
I would always advise to make sure you exactly the same tyre size, you might find that due incorrect size it could show the incorrect speed on the dashboard or even affect the ABS system. At higher speeds it could even become unstable. This is because the car would have been calibrated for a specific tyre size.
@@npoleary Thank you
Man you receive thumbs up for just 'well that's my legs' :D
Haha 😅
I frequently switch from Mercedes to BMW, and frankly, prefer MB overall, except for the BMW front seats! They are superior (5 series)….as for their rear seats….your demonstration says it all. Not good. One other complaint about BMW is their slow updates to the interior cabin.
Ah awesome! What are you driving at the moment?
I wouldn’t mind a ride in the rear seats, they were still comfy, I just have long legs! 😅
@@npoleary 2020 E350
Nice! Think you’ll switch to Electric or hybrid in the future?
Haha
How efficient is it in miles per kw hour?
Sadly I didn’t myself perform a range test, I only had the car for a week so wanted to maximise my time with it and produce 3 videos (range test might have taken longer)
But…according to BMW its power consumption is 3.4 to 3.6 mi/kWh
Just found the correct answer on BMW’s website while researching for my next video 🤓
Just edited it above 👍🏼
Hope that helps!
When I had this car it was a Press Car so I try not to go through exact specs of a car because they can change once the video’s been produced and it’ll vary round the world too (each country will most likely have it’s own spec)
Just wondering if the specs changed when BMW introduced the BMW iX1 eDrive20 M Sport (since I made the video)
Might be worth giving them a shout? I’m sure they’ll be happy to help and explain what the black bit was about.
@@npoleary Thank you for the reply. The only thing i can think of is if the new hex pattern grill is for cars produced 2024 onwards.
I have tried to contact BMW but they give me stock answer of because its not ordered through us we cant confirm either or, which is frustrating. Looking forward to having the car and if worse come to worse i will try to out source the blacked out grill.
No worries!
It’ll be great either way. This was the first BMW I had checked out in depth and it’s great 👍🏼

You should have the new style grill at least for Germany they get it from November onwards, more important with OS9

"this is a touchscreen so the way you operate it is by tapping what you want"
Thanks buddy! Never knew thats how touch screens work!
Yeah it’s really good! What did you go for in the end? (If you don’t mind sharing?)
@@npoleary I ended up going for a Mercedes EQA 250+. the interior, range, and Mercedes MBUX was just much better.
Just depends on how you drive 🤓
For the range, any battery in the cold will always perform worse so it’s just a characteristic of EVs and something owners would just need to plan for.
Claustrophobic? Seriously? What other cars are you used to, lorry vans? Because Audi or MB to me feel cramped.
Oh dear . Just try to enter in an Ionic 5 . Similar price.Maybe cheaper.
For larger in the same price Ionic 5 seems good too.
Is that the super-expensive paint job that looks like they forgot the final coat?!
I guess that’s one way of putting it 😂
Joking aside though, it’s actually alright!

But due to the way they work, it will and can always happen.
th-cam.com/video/fUNHb9O52WQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=D2CuDUdEeouf8-K9
To summarise the heavier the car, the larger the brakes, the more this can happen so completely normal and not a fault.
Width according BMW is 1,845 mm. More than 2,000 according to you, that’s more than a BMW x5
Sorry maybe I should include both measurements, I include the mirrors on my videos 🙏🤓
But yes without mirrors 1,845mm you’re right 🙏
Sheesh you did not even show the frunk nor engine nor breaking features. Looks like my 2006 toyota corolla is better than this bmw and will outlast it.
It doesn’t have a frunk sadly, or course the internal components are in there but I didn’t feel the need to show anyone as there isn’t that much to see
For 313hp, this car is slow.
How to take a brand and completely ruin the image the worst looking car by bmw yet. Why is it that electric cars have such a bad design what the hell is going on. 😮
