Heck yes, the JD800 is a crazy beast of a synth. With more understanding of its workings I bet its popularity will grow. So glad that I purchased one its a such a lush beautiful sound.

I agree. It’s extremely versatile once you wrap your mind around it. Very unique. Thank you for tuning in!

Its kind of fun how much the JD-08 can be understood with some understanding of Subtractive Synthesiser components, there is so much going on, but its all a development of the basics.

Hey man, just like the dude said, there's literally almost no one on the freakin internet helping or explaining anything in depth for the JD-08. So I thank you very very much. And btw, you need more videos bro! Your an amazing teacher and explain things very well.
I had a question as well. I tried to connect my JD-08 with my MPC One and for the life of me I cannot get these two to play nicely. One thing I tried that helped somewhat was moving all the JD-08 midi channels to the same channel (master, part A, part B etc) because I don't believe you can have a single midi track in MPC controlling channels 1 thru 4, I could be wrong. However, when I do this and play the JD-08 on the pads, I get a forever sustain. Like I'm continuing to hold down whichever note I pressed first.
I'm sorry, I know this is a very scattered group of questions, but if you could somehow help explain any of it that would be amazing. Thanks

You raise a good set of questions. I’m actually teaching one of my in-person students how to do something similar with the JD-08. Let me take a look at this. I believe I’ve done this before. I just need to reference my current MIDI workflow. You’re right, I need to post more videos. I’ve been a little busy lately but I plan on returning very soon. I will add your question as a topic for one of my up and coming videos. Stay tuned and thank you so much for the question and support!

Wow these are bingable. The way you explain synths really gets through to me and I’m having a much better time with my jd-08 now. Not sure if you talk about it in another video but as of now I’m a little confused about the palette faders. Sometimes I’ll mess with one and it just causes pure chaos and ear rapes me to the point where I’m almost scared to use them

My apologies for the delay. Excellent question. As a matter of fact I did. Take a look at this video: th-cam.com/video/d2ABtGQT7a0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=v228-rN5a70CCA7o

Thanks for sharing another great video on the JD-08. It's definitely a go to synth!
Can you demonstrate how to play two separate patches on two different midi channels?

Absolutely!!! This is actually a pretty interesting technique. I will more than likely demonstrate this with either the KeyStep Pro or the SQ-64. Stay tuned.

Hi there, great video. Can the LFOs be applied to other parameters?

Good question. To my knowledge, the JD-08 does not have a modulation matrix that allows for this. I do know that you can sync LFO(s) and implement certain triggers but I don’t believe you can select alternate destinations. I will let you know if I happen to discover something to the contrary. Thank you the excellent question and for supporting the channel 😀.
