@@FullMentalAlchemy777 Brakence certainly does NOT match the sound of the initial wave of hyperpop (SOPHIE, gecs, Charli XCX) but I also think that "hyperpop" as a whole is becoming a massively broad term that encompasses a lot of music. At this point, at least to me, I see it as intense / experimental pop with heavy electronic and hip hop influences, but there's also some cutesy chiptune influenced stuff that makes up the softer end of the spectrum (Aldn comes to mind). brakence DEFINITELY leans into the intensity and heaviness on a lot of his tracks with bass and screamed vocals that just takes it up a notch compared to typical pop artists.

that was fire shit! lol I never heard hyperpop before and tbh I thought this would be some mellow shit like bedroom pop but dang, it was something else hahaha

What genre should I learn next? 🤔
Hey ed talenti, you should try making a kpop type beat, its kinda complicated but ik you'd slay it
Drum n bass
Produce an Ethnic/arabic beat or sample an old middle eastern song for a beat
Metal
Dance hall, Latin, Caribbean, Reggae type genres
more hyperpop! so interesting to me lol. great video Ed!
Agreed
Thanks brotha! 🤩
You’re a legend homie
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how amazing it is that he plays those hi-hats on a keyboard? Amazing.
Yeah, ain't as easy as it looks to make certain types of drum rolls
Yes 🙌🏾 indeed cus it’s not easy
Its actually not that hard, since the hi-hats will never be out of tune its gonna be easier to play in a midi keyboard.
You just need your idea written in your head and there you go!
You should turn this into a series where you try different genres you've never produced before. I'd love to see your take on afrobeat/dancehall
Great idea!

SOOOOOO FIIIRE
yo wt frick its simon wow cool wow cool
Simon hates trap SOOOO much
I can't imagine how the 808s are going to sound if Simon made some hyperpop😂

hyperpop is such a diverse genre it's really hard to pinpoint a certain theme to it. Loved the video !

You gotta check out brakence and glaive. Feel like they're pretty representative of the direction the genre's leaning a bit recently.
I'm not super into how tame and depressed they sound, I prefer the manic energy of artists like Sophie and Gecs.

brakence, glaive, xix, and ericdoa have a more glitchcore style approach to hyperpop, would love to see you attempt something like their style

Aweome video... Enjoyed from top to bottom 💯🎶
That is an intense style. Genre bending beyond belief.
I also bought that midi pack,
It's really good especially with the hyperpop and guitar melodies
i'm so glad to see ed take on hyper pop, its so hard to find good production content on the subject
At least Ed actually made a hyperpop beat not like other "trap" producers who made a lil uzi type beat and call it hYpERpop 🥴

thats bc theres a production team with the name "hyperpop" that produces for uzi
