Youve not entered into every Kenyan home to conclude that our food is overall bad. It depends on what one is used to eating. Personally when I came to ug, I couldn't stand the food, it felt like I was eating the same thing morning, lunch and dinner, no balanced diet

@@Eric_MO Kenyan English is mixed up, The best English, least accented is spoken in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Botswana. On average the grammar of Ugandan English is probably the best in East Africa. Ugandan English is uniformly accented. As a kenyan, you must be surprised that Luos think they speak very good English, which is good in grammar, but the accent?intonation is off and very characteristic.Just like Ugandans and west Africans. Then there is the very heavy accents of the various ethnicities in Kenya, From kalenjin, to Kikuyu, Luhyas, Kisii, kamba, somali totally messes up the English in Kenya to a very poor average. Complicated.

Kenya is my country and as someone who like paying attention to detail, I know very well that we have an English accent that has specifically been influenced by intonation of Swahili. There's no crime in being identified with an accent, but you realise that Kenyans by nature we are point scorers and disagreeable people, a survival tactic acquired through generations. Even Americans have an accent that has interfered with their English, the same with Germans, Dutch, Swedish etc. But it's only here in Kenya where telling someone that they have an accent is equal to insulting him! It's funny. I think what matters more in fluency and language mastery is the grammar, not the accent! Research on google proves that Ugandans are among best speakers of English in Africa.

So don't be fooled to think that a Britton will really compliment you on your accent. Give yourselves a break and stop thinking you can speak the best English. To what purpose?
