john carl they are definitely cool machines. But the cost to run one is more than a asphalt sprint car. I’ve built a few in my day from frame up and have to say that until you strap into one and race it, you will be dissatisfied with any other car you race. Lol Only thing that matches and might even possibly beat that is a asphalt sprint car. Once you drive either, driving another race car just ain’t as fun.
Im a Supermod lover of 30+ years but I must say those sprinters are Fast! When both types of cars are at Berlin Speedway (Michigan) The top sprints are quite a bit faster than the top supers,..and they put on a better feature(IMO). I'll always love the supers, they are ground pounding works of art,.. but big props to the sprint car guys!
I've seen the supers before at a local track and have always wondered how they'd perform on a track like bristol. It'll looks like the xtreme sprint car got thru the turns a little easier than the supermodifieds but damn those things are fast!
Think you need a special oval rider who rides seriously fast sports bikes to get a decent time , someone like king kenny , it takes something special to ride at the constant limit of a grip on ovals
The guy that impressed me the most was Clauson, 140 MPH in a non wing car. He had some BALLS!

410 sprints are 1400ibs. 350 block bored over to 410ci. dyno around 900hp

They ran 148 If I remember , decided the cars weren't safe enough to justify running them again there

It would be to small for Indy, and f1 would blow their motors they are made to take turns not go in a circle

None of them have the power to weight ratio of a supermod or sprint.
A sprint car is around 950 hp and weighs around 1300lbs.
