To contribute to suggestions: 1) we need more ways to get castalia 2) if #1 isn't possible, then lower rarity units should use a different type of resource to unlock skills of the same rank. Theres a few skills id like to unlock in both trees for lower ranked units but it feels like a waste to use precious castallia for units that aren't ssr.
Agreed with the 2nd point. There’s plenty of ways to get castallia within momento, events , etc. however I think using the limited amount you do get on lower rarity units just doesn’t feel right
This. Im glad low rarity unit is pretty capable, but they sometimes need specific build for it. Castella skill path system is effin joke right now. No way CN bros did not find it right?
I love that this game has something for everyone: - Tower for those who like to spend hours experimenting with gimmicks to push the limits - Spiral of Destines for those who want a straight free RPG with no gacha mechanics - Fool's Journey for those who prefer a more traditional mobile RPG format - Clash for those who like outsmarting other players defenses - Gacha for those who like slot machines - And events that everyone can complete and enjoy While every game mode might not be everyone's cup of tea, it is someone's cup of tea. And that's good for keeping a broad player base interested.
My biggest thing that I haven’t seen mentioned anywhere: why can’t I control exactly where my units go? Sometimes there’s a perfectly valid way to walk past an enemy’s alert or a dangerous tile or something and I simply can’t get my unit to go around without triggering it. Why give us the “hold to drag characters” feature if you are only allowed to walk one way to get somewhere anyway? I feel like this could be easily changed and it just doesn’t make sense not to have it.
Things the game needs: I would like debuffs and buffs to be more readily viewable instead of having to click into the unit's menu. I would like DOTs to be a viable mechanic, they don't take off much damage, and the Infection Halving it's damage after each proc is just silly. It would be a really good boss killer if done right. Along the same lines, we're missing a couple DOT characters, I think Stigmata and one other. And we absolutely need to be able to see the kits and information about characters we don't have. It's criminal that we can't. Would certainly make content creators lived much easier. Overall though, love the game
I think there's a valid reason why infection stack is half. 1 stack of it could deal around 4% HP dmg on lv 60 enemies while being lv 40 yourself. I found the dmg calculation is not fixed like scorch so it maybe calculated enemy def but it still deal very high dmg against 20 lv higher. Make sense for it to have half stack mechanic put into it considering it could stack up to 9.
Heavy on the debuff and buff one, sometimes I won't notice a debuff put on me and try to go heal and it fails. Wish it was on a side bar of some sorts.
I thought this at first too, but I've never truly needed it. If you're trying to tap a tile behind another one, simply tap twice. Always works for me. Good luck :)
@@thetaerdinit would just be a quality of life improvement. Not needed but very appreciated. It would be nice to be able to change the view when all the objects are on on part of the screen
It's actually super important to litter your home with as much furniture as possible because the more you have the more comfy points you get and it adds multipliers to the amount of points you earn via bond per use in battles
I think super important is a bit overstated.... at max it's a 5% stat boost, and you will get there eventually either way and be missing maybe 1 or 2% for a time. theres also noone to show it off to or any real incentive to make it look good, and theres items to boost it a million times faster. I at least will 100% ignore the decorating almost all the time. it also seems to be a base stat increase. the 1% took my rawiyah from 1276 attack to 1281, with a second rank adding 5 more again. so it's about 25 attack on a level 40 rawiyah with all 5 ranks of bond
@@lordchaos7770 nitpicking words is dumb. I was just bringing attention to it. any increase is still an increase and could mean the difference between killing or not 😒
Biggest negative for me really is the gear leveling system, idk why its so expensive and or why the resource dungeon gives so little.. but its good that we get a lot of gear exp on events and shop.
I agree with basically all the points you made. I love the game, its really fun and the music is great. Not a big fan of clash or tower... but I gotta get those luxites so I get through it. Thanks for the vid :)
Good breakdown man, I think I agree with everything you said. Coming from WOTV, this scratches all my itches without the insane pressure and breakneck pace. It’s all about setting expectations. I allowed Gumi to set the pace for me before and it burned me out. This is way, way better and feels a lot more like a passion project. Hopefully it stays that way as the game becomes popular and makes more money for them.
Hey man just wanted to say I love your content. Your delivery is engaging, clear, honest, and focused. I also love that you seem like a really balanced and focused human being. Look forward to a lot more videos!
For the Tower I totally agree on that when it comes to gimmicky fights that I'm not a fan of. But certain other gachas I've played I don't mind the tower game mode. It really just depends how they do them. I personally like when its just not a one time clear for Tower systems, but a weekly or bi-weekly that changes and isn't the same thing and a one time only clear. Was interesting hearing your thoughts and I've personally been enjoying the game overall.
It's only really gimmicky if your trying to clear it and push really hard under leveled. I cleared to 8 at 44 fairly easily without having to worry too much about the gimmicks.
Personally I did drop it after a week and it was mostly for my own reasons because I still think the game is pretty good. This is the first tactical rpg gacha I have played and I came to realizes I really don't like farming and doing the same fights over and over in this style of game as well as the gimmick fights also doing nothing for me. I have way more tolerance for that in action games and turn based rpgs but not in this (same reason I never gave FFBE a try). I know there is a single player mode I can just enjoy at my own pace but that wasn't the main draw for me. The one thing this game did do is I am now deeply craving a FF Tactics or Tactics Orge replay.
My review as a seasoned gacha player: This game is F2P-friendly in a way there's a separate mode that doesn't need any gacha characters. However, it can get very expensive if players want to collect new characters for their main game. It has a poor safety net system and the cost of the currency to pull is one of the most expensive in the gacha market. Some defended it due to 2% rates (actually 1% for featured unit) There are games like Nikke and Solo Leveling which has higher rates but costs significantly less to get new characters. It doesn't make sense for a game with very low development cost to demand "genshin money". They don't even make new promotional videos for new character releases or spend any of that money they earned back to the game or PR. If they do not lower the cost of new characters, most spender will leave in couple months because they do not feel their money spent is worth it compared to other gacha games.
As soon as i realised how expensive the game is if you want to get units i quit before I wasted more money. If i wanted only a regular TRPG i have a ton of better games to play. This game is a gacha first.
First, It's been fun for me. I'm not one that's smart enough to come up my own strat to clear some game modes so i usually search for strats and it amazes me to see people and content creators approach each game modes differently which is the 2nd point is that the game is very flexible. You could clear some game modes with your own lineup even with low priority or rarity units. It's not a common gacha game that pressures you to pull on every new banners.
They should put like skill priority functions on autoplaying like in the clash where your units defend on auto, like In Black Clover Mobile. And as for decorations in the guild hall in the future should have this buffs like gear drop rate percentage or a small stat boost for your units for a few battles in a day like that some kind of thing. As for the tower they should do it like rougelike dungeon where you can choose perks/buffs for your units like in some Gacha games that I played before E7.
to add something that wasnt mentioned in the video: something that could use an update is the control scheme, and or making it so you can rotate maps. Maybe this is because I play mobile, but theres a lot of times that you try to move to a location only to have an object or character blocking it in the foreground and you have to make multiple attempts to move to a location, or click a location. If they put in map rotation, you could also maybe see perspectives that make it seem like a tile in the foreground is close to one further back, but thats just an illusion of perspective and they are too far for your characters to make a jump. I also sum up many issues in that the game has too much... clicking in the menus. Be it leveling up new characters, or navigating around.
So many materials and currencies. Also the stamina cost is kinda high. Like the daily extras already take up most of the stamina...and you need those extras, but then the actual content in Journey is slowed down. Now there's an event too which has a shop that should be prioritized! There just isn't enough stamina.
Limited timed Events should NOT be using "stamina" or any cost in the first place. It should be a way to keep players stay and play the whole event thing and be rewarded with some Unique or helpful material stuffs. Resources are limited enough as they are.
@@JMike-bq6rl I'm gonna have to disagree with that. The biggest draw for the event is the cake farming (not really the farming, just the prizes) so I get that the game wants to make money from the pulls and for the energy pots. And I'm not against that. I was kinda hinting at a reset for energy- new day, full energy or midday full energy reset.
I find theres plenty of stamina. Right now I'm doing 3 event, all the daily extra and still have stam left over to do a few clears on a resource stage.
I didnt drop it after first week, so I will play it for long time for sure. Only thing I dont like is that they rush banners and I still didnt pity Col.
I agree on the puzzle fights. The Beryll levels in the Journey were a bit of a chore. If I fail once, I just end up looking for a walkthrough online and follow it. Sweep, auto and skip are totally essential to me. Being able to do your dailies in 10min max is crucial. I play my mobile games as quick distractions while I'm not at home and can't play on my PC or PS. I always use my mobile games as games for short situations (bathroom, waiting for a plane, lunch break...). Playing full tactical battle can take too much time I don't want to give. I actually quit Langrisser at launch because I had to run full tactical battle for my dailies and they had no sweep function back then. I've come back since and it's much better!
Real, I love tactical fights and enjoy puzzles.. but mixing the two gets annoying to say the least. Because it gets to a point where it's so hyper specific that you have to look it up or waste stamina and time.
Great review Auron! Just wanted to throw these here in case the devs are looking. Please make buffs visible without needing to click into a unit. Please allow us to rotate orientation at the end of each turn. Please allow us to set teams.
- Caveat with SoD. Because of time limited keys atm for me it doesnt feel like play it at your own pace - tower is fairly easy. At 44 I've cleared to floor 8 without having to worry to much about the 'mutations'. Its when your trying to clear it severely under leveled that it becomes a headache
I mostly agree with you, and yeah this gear enhancment system is really annoying even though we don't have to worry about the sub-stat or anything so we can just keep the gear for other characters in the future, not like tarots where at least the tarots should have 1 sub-stat that fits with our characters so it could be a little bit helpful for giving our characters more stat I understand why upgrading tarots and characters wasn't as hard as upgrading gear cause we need to find a perfect tarot for our characters and we need a bunch of characters with high levels for sweeping daily or event stages but damn it's so expensive to just upgrade 1 gear. I also hope that they would add a skip button for the clash cause I'm not a competitive player anyway so if I can, I just want to keep skipping all the fight, win or lose? Doesn't matter as long as I can get the rewards however much that is
I love doing the tower but they just giving rewards for the first floor each week so I kinda don't see a point to climb more floor. Also for Spiral of Destinies, I hope we could bring our unit (at least one) to the next Cycle, it just kinda suck when you finally get your unit the training they needs and you get to the final week and get an ending then you say goodbye to those units
It’s pretty fun atm, surprised I’m actually into the FFT style gameplay, cause I wasn’t back in the day.. but yea I agree the summon currency is pretty low.. but I’m also low level, think like 20-21 atm.. still haven’t unlocked gear grind stages.. and leveling up the sub-epic gear feels like a waste, but the stages I’m getting to in ch. 2 hits so hard if u have naked units, so u gotta spend the resources on leveling/rank up/gear enhance to not get dunked on.. But yea, still decent.. ima roll with it for an awhile as f2p before I spend any on it..
im late to this party but the main sticking points to me: 1. pity is bad. 180 is a lot. it took me 143 pulls to get beryl and she's still the only non gaurenteed legendary I have gotten since I settled on the account 2. the auto battle is horrendous. even "overwhelming victories" are handily lost by the auto battle. 3. as someone with consistently bad luck, the gear being rng sucks. i was nearly rank 30 before i got a weapon for gloria (I rerolled for her). while weaponless characters is a problem that eventually disappears as you collect, it's still kinda frustrating to start. at least you don't gacha it I guess 4. I sorta disagree on the monetization, I feel like it's everywhere. there's a battle pass, a skin pass, a gacha skin, etc. this feels very sharply contrasted to wurthering waves which I've been enjoying, which feels like it has little to spend on outside whaling for dupes. 5. theres so many upgrade systems for a new game. seems like it won't take long to feel impenetrable to new players as feature creep inevitably comes 6. skill choices being permanent. leaves me with a lot of decision paralysis fearing I'll ruin a character I think the core game is fine. I'd probably give it a 7/10. nothing is super egregious, outside the pity maybe
We are getting updates with break neck speed but we don't have time to do dailies to get the same amount as CN. Now, we are severely Luxite droughted that it feels really bad you can't pull anything. Our event luxite reward should be pushed very hard way above the current one, because we are missing all the dailies days. 4 pulls each event is insane bro when you need 180 for pity. I hit exact 180 pity before I got Beryl, this gacha system is diabolical holy shit.
I am more into spiral of destinies but the combat on the gacha side is so much better. The other thing is I had the assumption you could recruit a bunch of unique characters (the ones the gacha feature) in the story mode and so I thought while I wasn't able to pull for so and so I can at least play them in the story and that isn't really the case. Everyone describes the story as a totally normal jrpg and not gacha at all and while that is fair, I think the lack of meaningful recruitment in the story is a big blow to my enjoyment that I had to find out the hard way. I haven't finished the campaign but I did verify this info from other redditors
You can recruit some unique characters, within the context of Spiral. I did an Iria run and I recruited some really cool Vlder units. Now I'm doing Union and recruiting some alchemists and knights I never had last time. They have unique names and skills i didn't use before, it's really fun :)
@thetaerdin I am having some fun too but I meant characters like Edda, Saffiyah, Lillywill. I haven't finished the game but I assume from what i played, they won't be recruitable. So if you really like a cool character pivotal in the story, unless you bring them as one of the 3 at the start of your game, then you can't play with them unless you play the gacha.
Me who just spend time 100+ hours in spiral of destiny. It was peak. I just wish we could recruit more 5 star or have them join in from story in this mode. Also removed keys if they can. For gacha side it was it was typical gacha and farming it was ok i guess i really like playing around with skill tree so a reset item would be really cool. Also we really need spiral of destiny players and skills showcase for each character that is not just paragraph. Most cc just just go. look at this skill he so stong like blah. This game didn't have any special 5 star all are good so show us other characters too. Not to mention new 5 star join in standard banner after their banner so all of them are equal
I dont mind the key currency. But they need to get rid of the time limited ones. With how long it takes to get through SoD i find it hard to use up them before they expire and I have time on my hands
one thing i hope is that they give us a game mode where we can unlimitedly play it even when we are out of stamina. because i want to experiments or simply play my character to have fun. sadly right now the opportunity is very limited by the stamina and by the option.
I think we really need more methods to earn pulls regularly etc. Coming from Langrisser Mobile and was hopeful, I've quickly come to realize how starved for pulls this game is especially with the upcoming rush of banners. Even then their forgiveness rates are also higher as well. I think long term this game is going to be rough for non-whales to be remotely engaged (only 31 free pulls a month assuming full daily unlocks) with new characters etc. Yes SRs and below are viable but realistically they aren't as fun as the SSRs which is the lifeline of the game long term.
This narrative goes hard online for some reason. I wonder how people will feel when the dreaded banners actually happened/ are happening, rather than simply thinking the worst of some future nebulous event. I'm feeling pretty confident that I'm going to get most/all of the characters I want if I'm smart about it. Good luck!
Only thing I don't like about the game is that when you upgrade multiples of same gear, it's kind of a waste when you decide to gear star level it up. I've decided to give mysterious gurdian and fancy hat to different units, now I have to just keep them and hope I pull more so I can max it out. I think there should be an option to get your upgrade materials back when you decide to gear star level up, it fuses the weapons anyways it's literally 40k+ radiant powder down the drain if your gears 40+ and decide to use it as material.
I genuinely wish pulling legends was easier. At a certain point especially during clashes you see first hand that a lot of AOE units can slay. There are outliers like Col and Dantallion that are just 1v1 gods. Also... Spiral of destinies is made more fun if you have a decent team to bring into it. Without it, you're just coping for common troops to get better skills and rolling for gear that isn't trash while fighting for better skills that inevitably make you replace your team because that's how much better the skills are. It would have been so much better if it wasn't f2p. But it has value if you're okay with rerolling accounts or spending money on it. I literally only played it because I'm a superfan of the composer...
Full disclosure: I've been very lucky with the little pulls that I've made so far. I wanted Gloria, Baryl and Col and I was able to get them. That said, here are my feelings on the game: As someone who has very fond memories of playing Final Fantasy Tactics back in the day, this game hits me right in the nutstalgia. I love the graphics. I love the music. I love the fact that this game does not drain the battery on my phone after many hours of playing. I love that I have the option to play this via Steam. I love that there are a variety of game modes: - wanna enjoy battles with a story, play Fools. - wanna do some strategic battles, do the Tower. - wanna a bit of rogue-like with story, play Spiral. - wanna set up a 'tower defense' and watch others try to win, try Clash. The character designs are great, as are some of their attacks and voicework. There's so much this game has to offer as a free to play game, I'm still no where near done and I feel like I've been playing this for 3 hours each day, at least, since release. Is it perfect? No. I'd like to have different load outs for my characters based on the game mode. For instance, the skills and the gear I may use for PvP would differ from what I'd use for a boss fight. Having to move gear around and swap skills can be tedious. Also, the Ai for the auto play is absolutely horrendous. I've had to manually play so many missions simply because the decisions the Ai makes are just stupid. I don't know how long the honeymoon will last for this game, but considering how much time I've spent on it, I hope it'll be for a long time.
I couldn't care less.... I care so little, I could not care any less. I could care less means you care a hell of a lot, and you can care a little less than you currently do. My biggest pet peeve because it's completely contradicting to the point you're trying to make.
-Definitely had lots of fun since launch but it is dwindling caused I'm running out of content. -Only content I have left is Spiral of Destiny and last Weap difficulty, just reaching lvl 45. -I wish they drop your floor more when you clear tower 10-5 or at least allow you to do lower level. Guild would mention like spike in difficulty in floor 8, but I can't access it. I enjoy the Tower the most and then challenging those high level Weap boss. - I only auto for the Event grind. Have been doing manual for everything else.
I haven't heard from you since i left FFWOTV. Once the artifact thing happened, i was done. Iv put about 140 hours, and i can't put it down. I have been challenging myself by using "lesser" units like "recruited" or "outlaw" units. While the legendary will, stat wise, over power lesser units, everyone can get pushed off a cliff or into the water. I have kited units to get my spearman to push units off.
"AI prioritizes garbage." more like prioritizes hurting themselves...if there is a bomb dropped by an enemy, they WILL attack it and if it is a unit ur supposed to be saving in that stage, will likely die from it and cause u to fail. The severe lack of Radiant Powder is, i believe, the only Major problem I have with this game rn. There is some solid epic gear bonuses that I want to use until i get a legendary for that slot (for me legendary staffs refuse to drop), but I don't want to max the epics b/c i won't be using them long term and would be a waste of powder. I just got to lvl 50 and the lvl50 promotion PAID pack comes with 160k powder. the issue i have is that its ONLY buyable with the paid currency. Arknights had this same lvl up pack system but u could buy them with earned currency. But i think the actual issue here is that the 160k this pack has isn't even enough to go from lvl50-60 gear, as those 10 lvls needs 169k powder.
Dude that's what I'm saying and Hard mode 3-13 is the best example of the ai actively trying to die on the spot. They attack the the bomb guys and then die next turn because all of them decided to stay in range of said bombs.
i think most qualms of the game will either be fixed or exacerbated by the time we collectively get to end game... which clearly we are not close to... but thats just me
I wish they would fix up the ai a bit (aka the characters that are on your side but you can't control). There will be a heavily obvious point where they're going to be one shot by the things around it and they'll just.. run right into it because they could attack something in said circle. E.g. 3-13 Hard Mode, I get that the whole point of it is that they will attack the enemy no matter what.. but tell me why they'll just stand right in front of the bomb and let it kill them instead of running off?!
My biggest complaint was pulling the same hero 2x on a split banner. If you alreasy have one, the other shouls be automatic if you dont fail the 50/50. I also failed the 50/50 and got Inanna instead of Gloria :/ not sure if thats a win or not.
I spend 80% of the time in Spiral of Destinies! I find that game Mode incredibly fun and it has many hours of fun. The rest of the game is secondary for me
More summoning currency tyvm I'm also worried about what happens once you actually done spiral because the daily Farm is completely not worth it. Pvp sucks rn when structures completely out-stat units. And yes I understand the game just got released and honestly for a 2 week release this game actually has a lot of content. But the problem is that unless they make a completely new storyline for spiral which I don't see any time soon it's going to be pretty hard to actually give the game longevity.
I'm having fun so far and I'm surprised at the amount of time I've dropped into some playing sessions. There's always more to do. The PvP aspect is braindead but the rest of the game is really nice.
It’s OK if you don’t wanna say it, I’ll say it for you war of the visions tower started off being exciting. Then the deep dungeon dive for the Final Fantasy tactics Collab was a bit trying for some of the new fanbase, and then it was OK for a bit but feels completely irrelevant at this pointburn out from tower because of war of the visions
I have 150 hours as a free player. Although I was disappointed because I thought it would be a tactical rpg like Final Fantasy Tactics and not a Gacha game. The spiral of destinies kind of saved the game for me as it was closer to the FFT experience. There is a lot of content and story so I would recommend people at least give it a try. However I'm not a gacha enjoyer so many of its mechanics just suck the fun out for me. I just don't think gacha and tactical rpgs mix well as a genre. That said I have gotten 150 hours out of it for free so I can't really complain that much.
You taking it too literal for the word honest, think of it as unfiltered review, what the game needs improvement personally and for everyone in your own opinion
Totally agree about Tower! I’m a bit frustrated with this game TBH. I’m a low spender with bad luck. The game gave me Magnus as a pity 50/50 on eddas banner and I’m like ffffffffuuuuuuu. I blew my WOTV budget for nothing 😢 probably going to just casually play from now on. Love the gameplay tho, but this game is like HSR for me. Fun to play but not going to chase units or banners
Yeah I'm sitting at the worst hit rate so far. I'm right there with you buddy. I had two of my roles were the free legendary it was quite disheartening
Tbh I don't have much time playing and a strategy game like this can seriously take up a lot of time. So when real-time pvp comes out I probably skip it most of the time. And the summon is more scarce compared to other games. Yes, it's early and yes it's not required to pull dupes. But someone did the math and It only gives 30 pulls per month if you max out everything not including the event. So I might add up that up to 40-50 pulls a month for f2p including the event(that is a bit generous since the current event only gives 4 pulls). Obviously, f2p needs to skip banners to be able to survive but we have waves of banners incoming and we only hit pity with enough resources once per 3 months.
I agree that the game does need to make money somehow but 40ish summons is way too low per month, especially with all of these banners coming out that are considered meta. It would mean that a F2P could only really save up and guarantee a really good SSR 3-4 times a year. It would be nice if we were given the option to work for some more free 10 pulls, such as doing raids/guild activities, whatever it is to get a 10 pull ticket. I feel like this would be a fair compromise.
Clash is the only mode I don't care for. There's really no stakes for setting up a good defense, because as far as I can tell, you don't lose rating for losing on defense. On top of that, attackers can use tactics against you, giving them a massive advantage since defense doesn't get them. It's cool that you don't lose rating, but it just makes me feel like "what's the point?" for setting up a defense. Also, in terms of QoL, I'd love to be able to visually see what buffs/debuffs were on enemies. Having to click on them and pop up the sheet and then hit view, and then hover over the icons to see what they have, is pretty annoying. I fully disagree with you about Tower. It's cool to try and figure out the puzzle of the stages with different mutations, and pushes you to use units you probably would never use normally when you just streamroll maps with legendaries. Having side content that challenges you is a good thing. (I do agree with the post that you should get more rewards for clearing it multiple times to incentivize you to keep going back and doing it) I don't understand why people want to play a Tactics game just to auto everything and skip puzzle content.. Just go play an afk game if you wanna do that.
It needs real PvP or it's going to die in 1 to 3 months (by die I mean become irrelevant, not EoS). It's very hard for PvE gacha games to stay exciting. Even the king of PvE gacha (Arknights) has fallen off considerably, though it's also been going for like 5 years IIRC so it's possible.
Spirals of Destiny F2P friendly and fun. Now Fools journey not so much. They need to have a way to have at least 1 free 10 pull a week. With WoTV as long as you log in each day, and do your dailies you can get a 10 pull a week. I haven't done the numbers, but SoC doesn't seem to have that.
You really have to lean into spirals of destiny. Theres not enough gacha for this game to hold your attention YET. And the random tarots and weapon rewards is bogus. Give us SELECT legendary weapons and it would be enough to push the gacha side.
i don't like turn based game especially tile-turn base type of game where you move based on available tile and i don't like pixel game at all. reason why i downloaded the game because i was just trying to test my luck on the gacha since it was their first day of their release. when i saw the gameplay on youtube i was like i would never fall for this game. until i gave it a try and there you go never thought i'm addicted to this game. to think that they can made me to like something that i disliked the most.. to me everything about the game is balance and good, the content are rich, music are good, gacha is incredibly good(for me especially my Legendary rates is 6% kept getting double and back to back). though every games have their ups and downs and always have a room for improvements. but in their current state i'd say it's still fun to play. the material to enhance gear and trinket is what bothering me. the Epic and lower rarity should have voice as well. i like Epic more than Legendary character for some reason. currently we're still a month old after the game released on global i'm sure enough there'll be lot of changes and improvements in the future and more rewards of course as they're seems trying to catch up with the CN version.
I COMPLETELY AGREE thought 8/10 right before you said so The shop is pretty horrible we do need more summons but they need to make money so just make summons fairly easy to buy in shop WITHOUT REAL money be monthly like for insignas or something but make it monthly so they can still make money if you want more than your monthly and for tower i also agree with the other guy its useless after first clear like completely everything i get i could get elsewhere make first clear weekly and finally YES A MAX FOR LEVELING OR EVEN LIKE A TYPE IN LEVEL LIKE INSTEAD OF MAXING LEVEL OF GEAR AND THEN BRWAKTHROUGH TO GET TO TWENTY I JUST TYPE 20 EXTREMELY USEFUL
The game is in chinese hands. So we know the pvp will be time gated, maybe even with tickets on top of that and overall no reasons to follow it on twitch or actively play long term. Its just a grind. The story mode might be good, but for that i'd prefer a nintendo switch or steam deck.
At higher levels 50+ the exp does start to run dry keeping up with 12 or so units at max level. Also, for Clash, you must not have gotten to a high enough level of competition because there are some meta strategies out there which can be very challenging. For example, wait until you face a ice priest/abyss/suppression combo that all moves before you and nearly wipes you out before you move once. I do think you gave a very fair and honest review and totally on point with much of what you said. But in some areas like towers and puzzle maps that require you to think, these are honestly the area where I see the devs getting creative with mutations or just content you can't brute force through like in most games. You gotta sit down and work it out and to me is right on point with a tactical rpg as opposed to an action RPG where stats are king.
Re: Clash. I just watched your video, while letting the clash auto-play. (Can't be bothered to actually play it.) LOL 100% just want the rewards, don't really care about the pvp aspect in a strategy game, would rather beat on bosses.
Why would they make a game like this without having English as audio?!! I wanna play this game so bad but even with English subtitles, i CANNOT STAND chinese/japanese audio smh
the deal with 4 star units being usable is... who actually LIKES using them? People who play gacha want to collect characters, i dropped the game because it felt really bad for f2p/low spender.
@@th3400ded yeah, but you will want new units eventually, will you not? Them releasing a ton of back to back banners and giving only 40ish pulls per month feels really bad as F2P or low spender. Maybe without the accelerated schedule it would be fine
To contribute to suggestions:
1) we need more ways to get castalia
2) if #1 isn't possible, then lower rarity units should use a different type of resource to unlock skills of the same rank. Theres a few skills id like to unlock in both trees for lower ranked units but it feels like a waste to use precious castallia for units that aren't ssr.
Agreed with the 2nd point. There’s plenty of ways to get castallia within momento, events , etc. however I think using the limited amount you do get on lower rarity units just doesn’t feel right
@@silasreyes9505 plenty ways ? i've done all and only gets 10...don't say something like this again !
This. Im glad low rarity unit is pretty capable, but they sometimes need specific build for it. Castella skill path system is effin joke right now. No way CN bros did not find it right?
Ofc they dont want that, they dont want you to get attached to lower tier units. They want you to pull for ssrs.
This!
I love that this game has something for everyone:
- Tower for those who like to spend hours experimenting with gimmicks to push the limits
- Spiral of Destines for those who want a straight free RPG with no gacha mechanics
- Fool's Journey for those who prefer a more traditional mobile RPG format
- Clash for those who like outsmarting other players defenses
- Gacha for those who like slot machines
- And events that everyone can complete and enjoy
While every game mode might not be everyone's cup of tea, it is someone's cup of tea. And that's good for keeping a broad player base interested.
nobody should _like_ gachas, that is not a _pro_ 🤣
@@DTreatz I like gatchas. shrugs It's a sense of collecting and I like collecting.
Things the game needs:
I would like debuffs and buffs to be more readily viewable instead of having to click into the unit's menu.
I think it would be great if this game added a “rotate map” feature.
Yes. Also please let us click to place units in battle (and furniture in the room). I hate dragging so much!
@@Aguriasu 90% of tactic games that released in 2000s can rotate. It's kinda absurd that you can't even adjust the vertical angle on this game.
@@Aguriasu yeah, that makes sense, adding the rotate map feature will change the whole asset from 2d to 3d.
I was just bringing attention to it. any increase is still an increase and could mean the difference between killing or not 😒
you get comfy points by owning furniture, you don't actually have to place it :D
@@Berbasecks yeah that's weird cause I placed the furniture to get more comfy points I remember seeing the count increase as I placed stuff oh well
Biggest negative for me really is the gear leveling system, idk why its so expensive and or why the resource dungeon gives so little.. but its good that we get a lot of gear exp on events and shop.
Being in an Auronnj video was the last thing I expected today haha! Thanks for the shoutout (I'm Azino). Hope you continue to cover this game as well.
I want a material crafting mechanic like how honkai lets you fuse common into rare and rare into legendary
Need that Leonide guide! Thank you for covering the game!
Maybe check out Unicorn Overlord if you miss Ogre Battle 🎉
I think you need to try spiral of destiny at least until week 20
@@mmbb1001 ok I was looking for that one but forgot the name. Thanks!
Not even a Guaranteed every 10th pull Rare pity system.
Solo leveling is absolute sh1t though
As soon as i realised how expensive the game is if you want to get units i quit before I wasted more money. If i wanted only a regular TRPG i have a ton of better games to play. This game is a gacha first.
Need more Luxites per daily or weekly and way more how we can get castalia
I just love they way you start your videos so much positive energy
Is this game better than langrisser?
Real, I love tactical fights and enjoy puzzles.. but mixing the two gets annoying to say the least. Because it gets to a point where it's so hyper specific that you have to look it up or waste stamina and time.
Not only are the epic units amazing, some of the common units are invaluable.
Great review Auron! Just wanted to throw these here in case the devs are looking.
Please make buffs visible without needing to click into a unit.
Please allow us to rotate orientation at the end of each turn.
Please allow us to set teams.
- Caveat with SoD. Because of time limited keys atm for me it doesnt feel like play it at your own pace
- tower is fairly easy. At 44 I've cleared to floor 8 without having to worry to much about the 'mutations'. Its when your trying to clear it severely under leveled that it becomes a headache
For picel games gacha, I played Guardian Tales for 4 years now. I doubt I will play SoC for 4 years.
I mostly agree with you, and yeah this gear enhancment system is really annoying even though we don't have to worry about the sub-stat or anything so we can just keep the gear for other characters in the future, not like tarots where at least the tarots should have 1 sub-stat that fits with our characters so it could be a little bit helpful for giving our characters more stat
I understand why upgrading tarots and characters wasn't as hard as upgrading gear cause we need to find a perfect tarot for our characters and we need a bunch of characters with high levels for sweeping daily or event stages but damn it's so expensive to just upgrade 1 gear.
I also hope that they would add a skip button for the clash cause I'm not a competitive player anyway so if I can, I just want to keep skipping all the fight, win or lose? Doesn't matter as long as I can get the rewards however much that is
Looking Snazzy as always! Hope you had a great weekend
The only thing that i want just, we can rotate the map while on battle. Just like WOTV. My fingers fat😂
they should add crafting all low level materials are usless
How do you get that frame!?
We need guild bosses or "world" bosses I dreaming to have coop mode in this game
But yea, still decent.. ima roll with it for an awhile as f2p before I spend any on it..
im late to this party but the main sticking points to me:
1. pity is bad. 180 is a lot. it took me 143 pulls to get beryl and she's still the only non gaurenteed legendary I have gotten since I settled on the account
2. the auto battle is horrendous. even "overwhelming victories" are handily lost by the auto battle.
3. as someone with consistently bad luck, the gear being rng sucks. i was nearly rank 30 before i got a weapon for gloria (I rerolled for her). while weaponless characters is a problem that eventually disappears as you collect, it's still kinda frustrating to start. at least you don't gacha it I guess
4. I sorta disagree on the monetization, I feel like it's everywhere. there's a battle pass, a skin pass, a gacha skin, etc. this feels very sharply contrasted to wurthering waves which I've been enjoying, which feels like it has little to spend on outside whaling for dupes.
5. theres so many upgrade systems for a new game. seems like it won't take long to feel impenetrable to new players as feature creep inevitably comes
6. skill choices being permanent. leaves me with a lot of decision paralysis fearing I'll ruin a character
I think the core game is fine.
With how long it takes to get through SoD i find it hard to use up them before they expire and I have time on my hands
one thing i hope is that they give us a game mode where we can unlimitedly play it even when we are out of stamina. because i want to experiments or simply play my character to have fun. sadly right now the opportunity is very limited by the stamina and by the option.
friendly pvp
The event consumes stamina🤣🤣🤣 the free pulls it gives are so few for a gacha with such a high pity.. And the event duration is 1 month..
Good luck!
Poor Beryl getting called Barrel all the time 😉
The auto Ai is the biggest thing for me by faaaaaar
Literally! It will tell me it's an overwhelming win and they still will die on auto fight.
Home decoration gives you coziness level, which actually gives you stats
Loadouts..... I'm tired of changing everything for weapons trial, tower, pvp, and everything else.
Full disclosure: I've been very lucky with the little pulls that I've made so far. I wanted Gloria, Baryl and Col and I was able to get them. That said, here are my feelings on the game:
As someone who has very fond memories of playing Final Fantasy Tactics back in the day, this game hits me right in the nutstalgia.
I love the graphics.
I love the music.
I love the fact that this game does not drain the battery on my phone after many hours of playing.
I love that I have the option to play this via Steam.
I love that there are a variety of game modes:
- wanna enjoy battles with a story, play Fools.
That is an inevitable cost of playing so many hours in such a short amount of time. The guild pve and pvp that is coming is sorely needed.
Here me play game casually
They should add command to A.I (focus heal/attack) just like tactic ogre
The rest of the game is secondary for me
I'm the same, except when you make a bad choice in SoD, man, you'll know you're in for a bad time contemplating about the choice you've made.
Honestly just glad you can play this game for free.
We take for granted how polished wotv's a.i. actually is, even with its problems.
Tell that to Sylvie just spamming buffs in the corner of the map while her teammates are getting slaughtered.
Thank you for sharing. I have many similar thoughts and would probably score it about the same.
Lower the stamina costs, its too much or raise the cap
More summoning currency tyvm
I'm also worried about what happens once you actually done spiral because the daily Farm is completely not worth it.
Clash you dont lose points for losing defending so its good manners to only have 2 weak units and 3 facility defenses ( banners)
I always find it weird when people will say their "honest" anything...so you mean every other video your just lying about everything?
It is 2024. Everyone and everything lies and/or makes up their own truth now.
Probably just emphasizing the fact that it isn't a sponsored opinion
You taking it too literal for the word honest, think of it as unfiltered review, what the game needs improvement personally and for everyone in your own opinion
It's more then likely because he was a Content Creator and he wasn't to distinguish it from Sponsored or "Content Creator mode" content.
Yeah that's why the question mark was there. The post itself was good but the "let's be honest" bit is kind awkward.
190 pulls and only Col, Gloria, Danta, Nungal but no Beryl or Edda 😑
Ability to rotate char after he ends his turn
Until level 50. I am constantly out of exp materials
(I do agree with the post that you should get more rewards for clearing it multiple times to incentivize you to keep going back and doing it)
I don't understand why people want to play a Tactics game just to auto everything and skip puzzle content..
Good. Needs more end game content imo. The main reason I don't want to spend anything.
You really have to lean into spirals of destiny. Theres not enough gacha for this game to hold your attention YET. And the random tarots and weapon rewards is bogus. Give us SELECT legendary weapons and it would be enough to push the gacha side.
Clash is great fun
i don't like turn based game especially tile-turn base type of game where you move based on available tile and i don't like pixel game at all. reason why i downloaded the game because i was just trying to test my luck on the gacha since it was their first day of their release. when i saw the gameplay on youtube i was like i would never fall for this game. until i gave it a try and there you go never thought i'm addicted to this game. to think that they can made me to like something that i disliked the most..
to me everything about the game is balance and good, the content are rich, music are good, gacha is incredibly good(for me especially my Legendary rates is 6% kept getting double and back to back). though every games have their ups and downs and always have a room for improvements. but in their current state i'd say it's still fun to play. the material to enhance gear and trinket is what bothering me. the Epic and lower rarity should have voice as well. i like Epic more than Legendary character for some reason.
currently we're still a month old after the game released on global i'm sure enough there'll be lot of changes and improvements in the future and more rewards of course as they're seems trying to catch up with the CN version.
I like clash...and I wish the units were smarter in auto mode in PvE..
Game coming to switch this fall
You need 169700 dust for lv50-60.
holllly cow
Wtf
You still playing FF7EC aj?
been on a long break from that one. Probably re visit it sometime when I want to catch up story stuff for FF7
Raid: Shadow Legends is the only game that made me want to play Tower mode. Everything else is just an annoyance
Like the game.
201h here, 2nd day player
Re: Clash.
I just watched your video, while letting the clash auto-play. (Can't be bothered to actually play it.) LOL
100% just want the rewards, don't really care about the pvp aspect in a strategy game, would rather beat on bosses.
Good overall game
For pve content is f2p friendly.
For pvp-real time content is p2w friendly.
There is PvP? Clash is not considered as PvP, it’s so terrible.
@@OneStepBehindd Soon to be. You can search for it Real Time PvP SoC
Why would they make a game like this without having English as audio?!! I wanna play this game so bad but even with English subtitles, i CANNOT STAND chinese/japanese audio smh
for weapon trial, angel is far better than samantha
for clash and other content i think samantha is better....
Instead of posting this on Reddit bring it up in those surveys as well
Orange where is the tuxedo
When you reach Platin in clash you get real fights.
But i still want real pvp against real players. ANd its gonna come . cant wait.
the deal with 4 star units being usable is... who actually LIKES using them? People who play gacha want to collect characters, i dropped the game because it felt really bad for f2p/low spender.
I love my lightning suppression abyss tempest etc. Lol what?
@@th3400ded yeah, but you will want new units eventually, will you not? Them releasing a ton of back to back banners and giving only 40ish pulls per month feels really bad as F2P or low spender. Maybe without the accelerated schedule it would be fine
