It is very hard to choose. As you said in the description " some sing it forte, some sing it piano and everything in between" I feel that each singer has their own moment in this aria. For example piano may work for some but forte for another. It is very personal in the expression of the entire aria at this moment.

Unfortunately by the time of this recording, Maria had a vibrato you could drive a truck through -- and, that's the Closest to an actual C that I've ever heard Tebaldi sing

I was surprised too!!!! to be fair... I heard a live recording Of Tebaldi singing Tosca... and she nailed those high c's in Act 2.... I was very surprised!!!lol

Sutherland, Gencer, Price and Caballé are the most impressive. Price makes the most of the low register plunge to ‘le pene’ that follows the high-lying passage. Forced to choose, I’d get Sutherland or Price.
