Death's Door is absolute masterpiece...The artstyle, clever jokes, interesting story, great puzzles, simple yet challenging and satisfying combat, beautiful music, unique bosses...highly recommend to any fan of Zelda or ARPG's with little bit of Souls-like spice to it - best comparison would be Hyperlight Drifter, mixed with little bit of Hollowknight and Zelda..probably best game i've played this year💚

But as I go to collect the first giant soul, holy fuck, I was so wrong. This game is deeeeeeep, so many clever puzzles, enemy designs, hidden pathways, stunningly connected world, funny dialogues, exploration based upgrades and dank-ass boss battles. This gave me Hollow Knight vibe. I wasn't able to put it down till like 5 AM. Truly satisfactory exploration. The best bit I like about it is, the way game introduces new enemies. PS: Oh shoot, I committed a cardinal sin by not mentioning the music. Music in game is, muuuaahh, a chef's kiss.

OMG you didn't mention the music, it's freaking amazing. It's one of my favorite things about the game. I was a little sad at first about the lack of skills and things but as I played I just found myself really enjoying the game and I'm so happy I bought this. Looking forward to what these devs do in the future.
Just played through the intro…wow…I got super stoned and put this in and am blown away so far. As a 38yr old this shit is exactly the kind of game I love. You can tell a lot of love went into this project
I've been really enjoying this game. The soundtrack alone is soooo good. This is the beginning of the new wave of exclusive games for Xbox. I'm ready for the discussion to move from no games to the quality of games. The quality of this game is awesome.
I fell in love with this game when I got the grappling hook. By the time you get it I was playing very defensively, getting a hit in and sometimes three if I was feeling cocky and always hanging back with the bow. When I got the hook, a magic spell that doesn't cost any magic points, it changed the way I played entirely. I would become very aggressive now and it just freaking rules. Love this game, highly recommend.
I know the analytics may not always support the idea of bringing these reviews outside of the immediate launch window but honestly your take on this is going to make me take a closer look big time. This is super valuable.

I really hope that it is successful and that we see some DLC / a sequel at some point. Highly recommended...
Finished it last night 99.5 with the endgame quests completed and final ending. 9/10 easy. This game gave me joy the kind I felt with an amazing snes action rpg. Illusion of Gaia, secret of mana and of course Zelda a link to the past. However the combat is so tight so smooth and easy to pick up tough to master especially in the Item/magic bosses. When it clicks it is just a rare gaming result. One I'll remember for all time. Made by two guys. Unbelievable achievement.
some small enemies gave me more challenge than bosses actually the enemies with hammer that do swipe and slam attack killed me more time that any boss tbh
The Super Mario Sunshine moment really made me do a double take, I've really enjoyed this game. It's harder than most games I usually play, and I think if it was on GamePass I may not have persisted, so this to me is a highly recommended buy. Great music, great gameplay, great stuff.
Late to the party. Having said that i cannot even believe this game lol. Absolute masterpiece. Completely blown away. Ive been playing games since the early 90s and ive played about anything u can think of likely and its been so very long since something has left me feeling the way this game has. The music is unreal the combat is simple but challenging and rewarding. The world and overall tone is so enthralling and exploration is never a chore as i always wanted to see more and more of it. The upgrade system is perfect and the item collection/puzzles are wonderfully crafted. The protagonist being my favorite animal on earth (Crow/Raven) helps alot too lol. But the star of the show for me is the story and dialouge which is a perfect blend of macbre and comedy while also looking at real life questions. Reminds me so much of many games ive loved over the years but polished and wrapped up into one cohesive masterpiece. Top 20 games of all time may sound like a stretch to some but i think i can safely put it on that list and maybe closer to top 10. Cant wait to see if there will be a sequel. I really dont think there is a single complaint i have with the game like not a single one which is insane its a fuckin indie game lmao!! Thank god for Indie because AAA is so hit or miss anymore.
