There is a whole conversation Kratos has with Faye in the dream about how he cant keep hiding from his problems and that Atreus is right. But the version you guys are watching cut all of that out.
Yes, also a lot of important conversations while walking.
I feel like the cutscenes alone aren’t enough to truly understand the full story, so hopefully they will consider watching another version where all of that is included

I hate when these compilations cut thematically important moments. Like, guys that conversation was supposed to mirror Kratos current situation , you can’t cut it 😭😭😭
Well, let's keep these comments going and hopefully they will notice and watch a version that is more complete. Otherwise, they are going to have a very confusing and hollow experience.
These stupid gaming content uploaders just want to make money out of the views. they don't want to work hard on the content. just want easy short videos. the problem is all of them cut out some content that others have included. whenever a new game is released, they don't want to enjoy the story of the game. they just rush through it so they can upload it on youtube before anyone else, so they can get the maximum views. this really sucks.
You guys should try watching another version of the cutscenes. This one seems to cut out the conversations they have while traveling, riding the boat, walking, etc. They add more context and are important to the story.

they can always watch a compilation of those travel tales in another reaction video cause there are a million of those available.
@@shadestorm3995 It's not just travel tales tho. It's dialogue relating to the main plot, it's dialogue in those sections the game forces you to slow walk and talk
It doesn't even need to be the whole story with travel tales, just the important stuff relating to the immediate plot like in Kratos' dream of Faye and stuff like that

With all the build-up cut out and just leaving the act, they are not going to understand the whole significance and weight of "The Riddle". Otherwise this will be a dissatisfying and unappreciated reaction for these two with this version from GameClips. They need to switch NOW!!!

Kinda wished the video showed more dialogue between cutscenes. Really adds context to the story imo.
Only thing that sucks about these types of cutscene videos is there's a lot of dialog that's missed between cutscenes. I'm sure some get left it but there's a lot of important stuff getting missed from what I can tell

If you guys want to hear the interactions and see the characters develop or have fun, i suggest watching the cutscenes from Gamer’s Little Playground. Plus there are important dialogues you might miss.

Hmm seems wherever you are watching from skipped the Fenrir dialogue before Freya's attack. That's too bad. Hopefully they don't skip some of the other "walking" dialogue. They can give lots of context.
Oh seems it is skipping all of that. For context when traveling home Atreus says he is sorry he couldnt take the shot on Freya. Kratos responds with "I didn't want you too."
Kratos understands Freya and is "fine" with her trying to kill him.

I would recomemend you guys to watch another video, this one cuts out a lot of in game dialogue that is very important to the story and only leaves the actual cutscenes

Something that you have to realize is Kratos is old. What I mean by that is that it has been estimated by many people that from God of War 3 to God of War (2018) about 1,000 to 1,500 years have passed. He is almost 2000 years old.
Age doesn't really impact Gods though, unless they let it.
Meaning they will only look older if they choose to, if they want to remain looking young they will, they have some control over that.
The reason Kratos looks to be visibly aging is because he chooses to, because he'd rather live as a man than a God.
But it won't actually make him slower or weaker, it's just a visual thing.
Like Odin and Zeus for example, they both looked like old men yet were still very strong and fast.
I love this version of Odin straight up sounds like a mob boss every sentence is a threat he can and will carry out

Considering this Odin is a manipulator through and through, that's very fitting.
And Thors his muscle
I was skeptical of Odin's design when I first saw him but it completely won me over as the game went on. Now it's tough for me to imagine Odin being portrayed any other way.
He always seemed more like a cult leader to me. The charisma, the short temper, and the idolism he attributes to himself just screams cult leader
Make sure this includes the valhalla dlc as well! Its an amazing story for kratos

I wish we had more fights with Thor in Ragnarok, with Baldur we had 3. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed the Thor fights, I just wish we had 3 instead of 2. Also, I wish the fights could have been more destructive.

It didn't show on the video because it skipped it, but Kratos' wife Faye was calling him "Grumbles", just a funny detail.
In terms of being close to accurate with Norse Mythology, this is my favorite interpretation of Thor and Odin. Thor has always originally been depicted in Norse mythology as a redhead and a mountain of a man. And as for Odin, the inspiration for him was chess or pool hustlers. Guys that make you think they’re the nicest guys in the world all while they’ve robbed you of everything.
Like everyone is saying this isn't the best version of cutscenes. I'm sure ya'll have already reacted to most or all of it but if you haven't I'd look up a version (if there is) that includes the important dialogue in between. It's far too essential for the story to miss, and while it may be longer, it's way more worth it. Just a thought.

You know what, I may have a video suggestion to help. A TH-camr named Shirrako has their own version of their Cutscenes and it also includes additional dialogue to complete the story context. PLUS IT'S ROUGHLY 7 HOURS AS WELL, WIN-WIN if I say so myself

Please, if possible, watch another version of this. There is one of 15 hours and sure, it is very long but it shows more important dialogues between the characters which adds more depth to the story. Without it, you will just have a hollow experience.

This cutscene compilation seems to be sticking exclusively to the cinematics and keeping almost none of the in-game dialogue (or side-quests). To a decent extent, I can understand that; it's hours of content that doesn't exactly make for concise viewing. But at the same time, some of the mid-mission conversation in this game has some fairly significant context that impacts the characters and/or story. It's a shame you won't see it at best and might hurt your understanding of events at worst.
Also I love that your opinions of the Huldra brothers, though much more positive, do reflect Kratos' opinions of the two of them. He likes Brok more than Sindri because the former "speaks plain".
They need to switch to a more complete version to have a better understanding and appreciation.

@@cs-zz7jd exactly the dialogue answers there questions then here nothing like when Freya gets defeated atreus says sorry I didn't take the shot Kratos says I do not wish you to and says I robbed her of her choice then that makes you realize that Freya is in pain and Kratos accepts that also with durlin when he gives them the find and then they go outside and turns out he did give them what they wanted but they took that out of the video and the girls think that durlin is just an assehole

Great video guys, been loving your reactions to the series but if possible, try to find a version that includes a bit of gameplay that has dialogue whether walking or on boat. I feel like you’ll get more context on the story of Ragnarok with the characters and situations that take place in the game. Can’t wait to see the other parts keep it up!

When you guys get to the end of this story, remember that the dlc Valhalla is important to watch to conclude Kratos story after the sequel.
Its a shame you guys only watch the main storyline. Everything in-between really gives the story room to breath with great side content and so much context to a lot of dialogue and other characters you'll never get to know.

Watching this reaction made me realize how much narrative and story is told and done during gameplay (even if it's walking around). They are already missing out on a lot of extra context
I agree with the other people. So much context is being cut because most of the dialogue is also within the gameplay itself, and not just the cutscenes, kinda like how y'all's did with the other GoW games. Just hope you guys consider looking for ones that includes bits of gameplay that matters and completes the whole context of the story, ya know? This watchalong series is amazing btw, keep it up!

I like that they do so much motion capture to give more realistic movement to the animation. I mean, a lot of games have done for years, but knowing the actors put in so much effort is especially respected.
Man that scene with Fenrir hit me so hard. My dog of 10 years died a month before i played this. Was not expecting that scene. This whole game actually helped me with my grieving. It was a beautiful story.

This game has the most heartbreaking first 20 minutes of any video game since the first Last Of Us. I lost my childhood cat named Ebony 1 month before the pandemic and I was absolutely as broken as Atreus.
And then after barely recovering we get to finally come face to both Thor AND Odin!
please find another version!!!! this one cuts off a lot of the important dialogue and action sequences that happen between cut scenes for context! im pretty sure Gamer's Little Playground has a good version
I love how you guys just go deeper and deeper into the gaming world, watching different games. Love the reactions! Would ever you do Tomb Raider or Final Fantasy? Maybe even the Last of Us 1 and 2 game's cutscenes? I guess there are so many to choose from, though.

Whatever video you guys are watching is just cutting out EVERY in game dialogue. I'd reccomend to find another video that respects the narrative more, because those in game diologue is what helps drive the characters and story furthur.
Yeah I noticed that too. Like the whole Thor fight was so... Underwhelming for some reason even tho the fight in game was so much better because of all the dialogue

I just finished watching the video and man it's so disappointing how they only included cutscenes. There's a lot of character building that's done out of a cutscene which is why this game was so good
I really like the scene in the beginning when the wolf dies, there is so much packed into it, that get's unfolded over the course of the game. It highlights how different the two are and how they fail to connect innitially even so they try to do this together. But the familiar way they interact shows how close they are now and how far they have come. Atreus has so much on his mind with the burden of being the last giant alive, while Kratos is only concerned with Atreus safety. The death of Fenrir hits them both and the emotional tension brings forth the conflict of interest they have.
Kratos sees how heartbroken his son is and tries to comfort him in his way. When he is in distress, he trains to clear his mind and focus, that's the spartan way. But Atreus grieves differently, so Kratos follows his own advice and leaves him to "mourn how he wishes".
Been waiting for this
Yeah. There is unfortunately so much missing, like Kratos thoughts towards Freya, the Search for Atreus as a bear, Brocks conversation with Kratos on his way home, Kratos and Atreus talking about trust on their way towards the wolf shrine, Mimer explaining how Fimblewinter is effecting Svartelhelm and explaining the colture and history of the dwarves, Atreus explaining that the papper note thay reseved was actually a map in secret, and so on and so on.
It is of course understandeble to why this is. Back in the day, cutscene movies were all that you needed, because that was how games were designed back then. The Halo Games are a good example of this. But in the modern day of gaming, where cutscenes are not premande renders and are now in game real-time renders, important information and character building is being delivered during the gameplay. This is highlighted perfectly for the side quests in this game.
If all of the reactions have already been made, then it is what it is. The cutscene movie is telling a great story, regardless of the extra diolage. What's making people go a little "extra" over this has to do with information that WE know about that YOU don't know about. Because we know, we want you to know it too. Because we know what's coming, we know what has to be included for the most optimal experience. At least, that is my interpretation of why this is a huge deal for some people.
35:20 is the moment we all witness what kind of a monster Kratos is hiding and prisoning deep inside him. If Kratos goes all out blood thirsty like what he did in old games, then practically there is no one who can last in front of him.

Really happy to see you guys start this game but if you're interested in maybe getting a better picture of the lore I recommend reacting to some great recap videos of the previous games that include information about other God of War games from other platforms that you didn't see.

Honestly out of all the games in my opinion this game might have my favourite story of the whole franchise so I'm excited to see you guys go through the journey or God Of War Ragnarok.
The opening fight between Kratos and Thor is phenomenal and I love how despite the stories of Thor being a brutal and all mighty warrior he appears to be a lot more level headed and somber at least until Odin starts bossing him around.
I also love seeing how much Atreus/Loki has grown
one thing I must say is that pls do a Valhalla cutscenes also. It is an amazing DLC which was given to the fans from the producers for free and explains a lot about Kratos's past in Greece. It is amazing with a bunch of new content
I forgot how much acting is in this game. And it's well done. It's like watching a TV show that you can play lol

I just start tearing up at any given point, crying when animals die, when exposition is given, and when I watch these reaction videos, it feels like I'm watching emotionally stunted children. I must be too fragile for this world; and the commentary is so prosaic, so dead, I can't fathom how people consider this pablum constitutes genuine humanity.
Finally you're here! Thor's body is like that of a strongman like Eddie Hall. Guy literally looks like a bear. Strong asf too.

I know a lot of people have mentioned this already but I truly recommend watching a video that includes gameplay between cutscenes. Some of the best interactions in this game happen as you’re traversing through the world and they add so much to the overall story. If it’s possible to start from where you guys left off, in another video, I’d recommend it. Other than that, I hope you guys enjoy the rest of the game; this is probably my favorite game of all time and I’ve been looking forward to seeing you guys react to it. Enjoy!

Some funny missing dialogue from the Thor fight, Thor makes fun of Kratos saying something like “This is the guy that murdered a pantheon just because they hurt his feelings”. Thor was cold here 😂
I am so glad, that you watched 1-3 before this. Now you know, where Kratos came from.
Why do those cutscene videos they react to not have in-game moments for more context?! There's more to be explained
Agreed. For example, they are not going to fully understand "The Riddle" at the end of the game(If you seen the whole game before, you know what I'm talking about without spoiling it) if there is no dialogue that was leading up that point. It is going to be very confusing and will have very little impact at that crucial moment. Contexts matters. Gameclips is just cutting out the build up of the details and just leaving the act which will have a very dissatisfying and underappreciation reaction.

TNT gaming did the same thing with cutscenes and that version they reacted to is so much better it includes so much more and all the side stuff they should definitely react to that one but think it’s like 17 hours

This is my second time watching the cut scenes😊.
I have already finished watching GOW gameplays.
So I know it’s 15 & a half hours but please consider starting this over and using Gamers Little Playground’s version of GoW: Ragnarok. It’s all cutscenes and it has the convos that this one is skipping while they are traveling on foot, on the boat, etc. Please consider it if there’s enough ask for it. I tried to put the link to the vid but my comment keeps getting deleted so you can find it. Like for instance at the 17 min mark it makes a crazy cut that cuts out very important dialogue made by Mimir and Kratos during the trek to find Atreus which GLP doesn’t do.
YES!!! I am a fan of Gamer Little Playground's channel. They do a good job of having a little gameplay with the dialogues and the cutscenes. It's like you are watching a movie actually.
The reason Thor is satisfied with the fight with Kratos and leaves is because he hated the idea of them being "useless" like Odin said. All he wanted was to see that the person who killed his sons was very strong, and that losing to him didn't reflect badly on them.

Guys, as much as it sucks that the video they're watching cuts lots of scenes, let's be honest...
These two aren't going to play through the entire game like we would. Let's be glad they're experiencing the meat of the story.
Fun fact: the guy playing the instrument at 52:55 is actually voiced by the main musical director for the game

Thor's characterization hits so hard for me throughout this game. Even the detail that he's kind of ashamed of his father's behavior--warning Kratos that he's going to need all his calm and reason in a minute--it's just so tragic and so real. Thor is a man who doesn't know who he is, because his whole life has been hijacked and subverted into Odin's purposes.
I already know you guys are gonna love the story in this game.

They do mocap to create the scenes so it’s not just like voice overs it’s them actually acting and capturing the facial expressions, Christopher Judge is Kratos and Sunny suljic is Atreus
The version of GOW you watched from 2018 was perfect, they didn’t cut most of the dialogue if any between cutscenes, we urge you to please find a version that is like that for GOW ragnarok
Honestly one of the best games ive ever played already played it 6 times. Also took them almost 5 years to make GOW 2018 and then 4 years for this game
still love the part where Thor actually kill kratos as prophesized. only to defibrillate him with mjolnir and bring him back. great touch

I’m not sure if they are able to because of the amount of time it would take but a Cutscenes reaction of Red Dead Redemption 2 would be pretty great. There’s a Gamers Little Playground video that’s about 19 hours long. Would definitively be worth it though as it is a truly incredible piece of fiction.
Also for God Of War Ragnarok, Hopefully they also watch the Valhalla DLC Cutscenes as it gives a lot of closure post story

@@latrelljack8751 Well, they better do it now before they go to deep and it takes away the genuine and authentic reaction to the complete version. Hopefully, with similar comments keep racking up, they will start over with a new and better version.
BTW the Dwarf playing the wind-up instrument I believe is the in game composer
