Here is how I would fix medallions. 1. You can only carry a single medallion at a time. No stacking tons of medallions and becoming a god. 2. You are unable to drop medallions or there is a cooldown. This prevents situations such as the Grim Gate medallions where an entire squad can basically have its abilities. 3. There are way more medallions around the map. Combining this with rule 1 will allow for some awesome final circles with players all having different powers. Also not all of them have to be tied to bosses, maybe have some hidden in vaults, tied to small minigames, sellable by NPCs, etc.
One of my predictions for season 2 was that there was going to be number 3, legendary epic and rare medallions, legendary was the rarest and best and are like the normal medallions, rare would be fairly easy chest drops or simple tasks but they are not the best, and epic is in the middle let’s say vault heist like 4:4 and if we want even more inspiration from 4:4 different medallion choices also there would be a good amount of these vaults, also if the different rarity medal thing happens you should be able to pick up multiple medals as long as they are different rarity and you should be able to drop medals especially if you can only hold one but idk for number 2, also if they decide to do medal rarities you can’t see people with rare medals, legendary you can see like normal, but epic can be seen only with some items and if they don’t decide to not do the single medal thing a different drawback should be put on I call it “overwhelming power” pretty much because there are factions you can’t get medals from the other faction at 1 medal and at 2 no other faction mythics at 3 no other faction special weapons and 4 no other faction specific weapons, maybe this is to extreme but whatever.
I think a better version of this would be to make it so the medallion effect dissapears when it is dropped. For example, cerberus medallion would make the skulls dissapear

As a pubs / non-competitive player, I would love to see fun OP weapons only in pubs. And a competitive and balanced loophole for ranked and tourneys, so both sides are happy.
I hope the shotgun meta is different because the gatekeeper feels kinda weird to me. Personally when the havoc was in chapter 4 the game felt a lot smoother
Yeah the havoc was higher risk higher reward bc u had to hit your shots, the gatekeeper is high damage and all u have to do is point the shotgun at them because it has a wide spread
yah, i hope that too. im always used to pump shotguns but in these seasons gatekeeper is the meta, so i always use it like a pump and end up dying by players who know how to use the gatekeeper. im also frustrated about the crazy mobility the game has. For example, when im trying to box fight with an opponent, he just sprints around with nitro and dashes and instead of box fighting he just dashes in to my box and kills me with a gatekeeper before i even box up. For me, the fast paced meta is teribble, im just so not used to it.
i feel like medallions are a good concept just not like how they are rn (in the sense that the best players have them and just win). The problem is every solution i can think of would be extremely rng, would not fix the problem or be extremely enfuriating.
i just want the graphics from chapter 4 back because i cant consistantly get 144 fps i get like 80. I also want epic to remove the attachements because they make the game so much more RNG.
Same, the optimization this chapter has been terrible. In C5 S1 i couldn't even play cuz of how bad it was. Myths and Morals was the best optimized season for me and then we got wrecked... I just hope in the future it will get better. They have said that they'll make the game file size smaller in the Chapter 2 Trowback season. But as i said i also hope the optimize the game, because the further we go the worse it gets.
As a casual, all I want is a good lootpool, nothing absurdly difficult to use, but nothing brainless. It's been many seasons since I've tried going comp (Chapter 2 Season 3), and I really want to, so making the lootpool balanced and fun would bring me back
As both a casual and semi-competitive player, i agree that there's shouldn't be any medallions in competitive game modes, and maybe mythics could be downgraded to the stats of legendaries? I would also like to see different disadvantages of medallions such as 175 HP or 400 max build stacks instead of just having your location exposed; closer to a wastelander challenge because the best players in the lobby will have medallions
The season just came out and I was thinking they were gonna replace nitro back with slap because as a casual it was a really convenient and fun movement option for running around the map. We got a jetpack and flowberries back in terms of movement, no slap :(
I've been saying this for seasons thank you for bringing it up and talking about. The medallions make the game even more unfair and is literally the only comp shooter where 1 person gets insane powers and weapons & they ALWAYS get both medallions and weapons since they are so close together on the map
I totally agree with the medallions. I’m a zero builds player, and my main drop spot is Nitrodrome. Even before I get the medallion, the players that have the other medallions come into the nitrodrome and wipe me out. The worst one is the infinite nitro coin. As soon as I hit them for decent damage, they can just run away, never to be seen again. And there’s nothing I can do. That’s not the Fortnite that I consider really fun. Chapter 5 as a whole so far has been really bad.
Something I’ve thought of for medallions is to add them to mythic guns which may go well but probably not and yesterday was hot hot in England today is better though
infinite ammo is somewhat balanced but infinite sprint is ok but infinite nitro sprint which boost you while sprinitng you dont take fall damage and you can phase through every wall is very unbalanced

I would also like to see the gatekeeper removed for eternity, i know a lot of players like it, but for me its just extremely broken and creates a really boring shotgun meta. The good meta for the next season in my opinion would be: 1. hammer pump (you have to have a pump in the game) 2. Charge instead of gatekeeper, for a clunkier, harder hitting shotgun. 3. Combat. For me it was extremely fun with this thing in zero build, and its now finally pretty balanced. Anyways great video.
Although chapter 2 is coming back i feel like it would really improve the exprience if Epic added an option for old movment and new as well as double mantle builds or not these are small changes that will go a long way and potentially bring alot of people who quit back to fortnite.
they should add an option for old movement but not for mantling, because some people would have it off and some would have it on it would be to hectic and would be considered as having a competitve advantage ig so it would be better if they just kept it on or off for everyone but keep sprinting i feel like without it the game would feel so much slower
Good point mentioning how focused all the good meta stuff was all in the south, the surp cactti were down there, the boss cars were there, medallions, etc, Northern part of the map had like nothing strong until like a week ago when a minigame that turned you into a bean was dropped into the northeast part of the map, and was the most significant change to that area the whole chapter thus far Would've been nice if they added more slurp cacti to the map, perhaps in the slightly more arid parts in planters like the triple cacti near the Nitrodrome, of course cacti struggle in colder climates so for world building's sake I can see them not adding cacti to the colder boreal and snow biomes, but just more placew besides the desert, too many times have I been like "I could really use a pickmeup... oh right the desert is in the storm, well shucks" and then die cause my car was nearly dead and nowhere was safe As for the medallions, I feel like Epic did TRY to address the issue of all the medallions being southward by having one or two of them out and about on the patrol, which certainly helped since if you wanted a certain medallion you were going to the same spot all the time, which can free up the boss POIs for more chill looting However, of course, because cars aren't in competitive, and neither is the patrol, that means every boss is guaranteed to spawn in their POIs, which are all collectively in the southmost portion of the map, meaning you NEED to go there and have the area very contested by other players, and as you said, the highest ranking players are likely gonna get the mythics and medallions first then proceed to fight as gods while the mortals scrounge for what they can, and smiting anyone foolish enough to challenge them without the skills or weaponry
as a casual I have to say I am so sick of medallions, they were kind of a cool concept in season 1, and when season 2 started I liked that they were all different... and then the cerberus medallion turned out to be completely busted, I basically exclusively landed grim gate that season because if I landed anywhere else I felt like I'm at an automatic disadvantage, this season it's a bit better (simply cuz we don't have anything quite as OP as cerberus) but I still always want medallions and I feel like not having medallions puts me at such a disadvantage, I can't lie I love lots of mythics and stuff, but when it gets to a point where it's land mythic POI or die, I just get so bored, if i dont land on megalo don someone else will and then they get a crazy movement boost with little downside to them, the idea they mark you is cool until they're so good it doesn't even matter... which is basically how it's been all of chapter 5. I'd love to see medallions go in chapter 6 if not next season

honestly bullet drop is much better imo. OG loot with low accuracy but hitscan is just seems good for tagging people. the bullet drop is more skill based and you know it's not that rng for where bullet gonna go and I lazer people so bad with ar usually. The old ones you have to tag and wait and with this new ones I just easily carry 2 gun and I know I can spray and tag at long range. old ARs are just sooooo bad and u need always smg and can't hold more shield and you have to either not w key or u gonna be out of shield and lose to someone who is not good but lucky shot and you were low hp. I can't stand hit scan for all and so many other random reason. people just easily kill u on Air without any skill and it's not like one person just each of 4 person around u hit one and it's so unskillfull imo
We could be getting some hitscan weapons back next season, at the end of the trailer you can see a few people shooting what looks to be a burst ar and if you slow the footage down it looks like it's hitscan still I hope we do because hitscan feels more quick/snappy and is just way more fun than projectile
@@CJKnowsMario the only hitscan weapons were the wanders pistol and the lock on pistol which were both probably mistakes and they will probably convert the weapons to bulletdrop
Lets be realistic, they arnt removin medallions or especially mythics any time soon. My biggest problem this season is how i just dont like how it feels like the landing spots are just blatantly BETTER or WORSE. I get thats bound to happen, but opening the map at the start of each game feels uninspiring because you know exactly how the people are gonna split most the time. I wish medallions were RNG just like how GOOD loot is, let people run into the bosses randomly. They obviously liked having bosses drive vehicles so why not do that but remove the map marker. Let people spread out and drop at locations the bosses MIGHT SPAWN AT and either be rewarded or not. I just dont like how its clear where the medallions are immediately cause it creates the problem of having the top 5 players immediately get it
I think they will probably keep medallions because if they remove them before the end of the chapter it would feel kind of embarrassing on epics part (Edit: Also it is one of the main new features when the chapter came out)
I feel like the main problem with some of the items this season (Magneto, Nitro, Nitro Fists) is that it's much harder to hit them with the current guns. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that projectile bullets are a bad thing per say it's just that movement items need to be based around that. It also didnt help that this season just had some extremely broken items as well like Nitro Fists are objectivly one of the most op movement items in a long while. It's literally just a kinetic blade with no too little downsides.
Fr, the whole dang loot pool is spam, they gave everybody who played in C1 SX trauma by bringing back mechs as an item, it’s so bad that I would rather go back to C4 S3

As someone who plays ranked a good bit and sometimes pubs, I can really see the difference it goes from getting full pieces to getting ran over by cars with machine guns and 1700 health
I don't like medallions in general and I'm hoping they're vaulted because the people who get the medallions are better than most of the players in the lobby.
medallions would be cool if they weren't just mythics. Imagine common - mythic medallions like the guns where the POI just drops the highest rarity version.
I find the exclusivity of things to be so much worse than any single item itself. The best OP weapons are the better versions of weapons no one else gets. The mythic AR, is a super AR, cool. The mythic fist gets one more charge, cool. The mythic deagle is a super deagle. That’s balanced. But having one player with the shield medallion that no one else gets a version of is preposterous. They can simultaneously save an entire slot used for heals and essentially get a sixth item slot. And they can gain over 500 shield over something throughout a game and never have even used a healing item. What the f**k is that? And like you said, they’re ALREADY the best player in the lobby. It’s an insane advantage to grant to a single player, and even more insane to only grant them to insanely good players.
I would love to see siphon again. There’s no real gain to keying people if your in the lower bracket of comp or even in pubs. It would make the game much more enjoyable. I would also like to see more weapon modding stations available if there’s still mods, as that mechanic is almost completely useless until 3rd zone. I know they were toying with the idea of 200 player lobbies. That would also be super wild to play in. Definitely would find it fun
Yeah the only substantial change to the northeast of the map that I can remember is that half of the ice at grand glacier. Tbh, medallions aren't a horrible idea but they need seriously toned down. There should be a cooldown effect on them so that you can't keep dropping and picking up shield medallion to refresh it and then playing passively. I think if they reworked Megalo's medallion to give infinite slap effect instead of nitro, it'd still be worth carrying without being absolutely busted. Then brought back and slightly reworked Zeus and Ares too. If they brought back a healing medallion it'd have to be severely toned down. I had an idea for a medallion that would only use 8 mats per build instead of 10, so what would normally get you 4 pieces would get you 5 under the effect of the medallion, but then it wouldn't work with ZB.

Passive defense that have no use limits are crap - Medallions need to be gone in all modes. They aren't fun for anyone who doesn't have them. 'Insanely broken stuff' - there is no doubt - the first few weeks will be completely unbalanced because...that's the history of every chapter. I can only assume they do this on purpose. Fix lock mouse input. I shouldn't have to relearn how to build because of bugs that prevent me from making use of a GMK stick.
They won't be removing the medallions and the mythics, it's like the reality augments and the heisted exotics from chapter 4, it is like the main things in the chapter.
If they want pro to be exciting to watch they should put 1 of each movement mythic made so 1 hammer, 1 katana, 1 sword, 1 fists, 1 grapple etc. maybe there are like 10 great items unique (kinda like the exotics) for mobility first not guns first
When you talked about the meta so I actually really hate the meta and like I usually play ranked but I sometimes play pubs and every time I get the mythic and the medal I always blow up the car because of how much I hate this meta
10:16 As a zero build player, I absolutely hate dmrs/snipers. They pretty much force you to use a port-a-bunker or shield bubble, which promotes defensive play, + doesn’t leave room for extra items.
Worst part with medalions is that, you cannot place good in fncs grand finals without them so if you choose a medalion poi on season 1 and manage to qual for the world cup, your advantage will snowball through the entire year as no one will want to contest you.

I feel a broken gun is at least manageable compared to a broken ability that makes you unkillable , it is like playing hide and seek till the person with the medallion keys you in the end. The person with the medallion who is a full sweat will normally win.
zero build player here, i'm pretty much pubs/casual (in the way that I don't play ranked or tourneys but from what I've seen cashcups and tourneys in ZB are pretty cooked atm lmao anyways, but I'm relatively decent mechanically) atm playing with my brother but this season was also dreadful in that regard, while I can see the appeal to certain things, I feel like epic went too far with like...Magneto power mainly, for us zero build players thats basically ruined the season for us more than cars or anything, especially since cars were easily counterable once they got nerfed and boogie bombs were added and even more so when EMPs were properly reintroduced to the lootpool. Fists weren't usually an issue but thats likely due to us having overshield making us a bit more tanky...But magneto power is just...Why. It would have been fine if it were only 3 charges, and had like a 15 second cooldown per shot, but instead its 5 charges and only has a 7 second recharge...It's a lot harder to avoid than the fists due to if you getting hit, there's a bit of a hitstun and if you don't immediately jump away with nitro fists you're going to get blasted by another rock, and then another and you're dead, unless it bugs out and kills you on the first hit, which yes, can indeed happen! It completely over shadowed anything else they could've done or added with the season, pirates of the carribean stuff (pistol, ship in a bottle etc) or even the recent minigun, barely anybody uses it because they can just jump 50 feet in the air and snipe people with pebbles. I've had matches where I've gotten all 3 medallions only to be bombarded by the rocks with no real escape and its by far the most frustrating thing in the game, since even compared to the reaper sniper rifle (which im glad is gone, please never bring that abomination back...) the person is doing absolutely nothing to earn the kill besides holding down the button and pointing in my general direction. i've used it myself and it's not rewarding, at least for the cars you can argue you still have to aim somewhat (depending on what mod you use) and or drive around, there's like some brain activity there, and again, that's easily counterable by comparison. that aside, i totally agree with your opinion on medallions, most of my games I aim for the nitro medallion because the mobility is just absurd alone, and the faster reload helps too along with the knockback and fall damage immunity, in ZB it gives you a massive advantage in fights, all of them do really, with the shield medallion you can carry more utility if you wanted to (though not entirely recommended, but its an option especially with the cacti around) and the ammo medallion + boom bolt is just self explanatory, what is it, 144 damage with a body shot if it hits them and explodes on them? i may be wrong...but yeah, one person having basically god powers is kinda stupid (or one squad), maybe that's why they added magneto? to make it balanced for everyone else? while i think the waterbending was horrible and the prenerf frenzy auto and prenerf reaper sniper (and even post nerf reaper) were horrible and made their respective seasons mediocre by comparison to previous fortnite seasons this is by far just one of the worst seasons ive played, though that's not saying much since i'm a relatively newer player, only seriously putting in hours in this game back at the start of chapter 4 season 1, i played a long time ago back in the day but building just wasn't my thing (still isn't but no disrespect to those who enjoy it!) so i couldn't get into it. it's just been misses back to back for me, i mean to go from OG to ch5s1 where they remove hitscan in favor of a sniper that can kill you from 300m anyways or 10m due to having custom modifications, no augments or keys, and various other things i cant be bothered to go on about (ive yapped so much already holy moly) to a shotgun that makes the drum shotty blush (you can still get oscars in this season by the way and its still disgustingly OP) to ch5s2 where you had the incredible gassy fart water added WITH NO HITSCAN IN THE GAME, SO PEOPLE COULD RUN FOR EONS...and then waterbending and they saw nobody was using the chains of hades so they buffed that, making it disgustingly op to be able to be basically a shotgun with its melee, and then you could use scorpions "GET OVER HERE" to grab them out of the air or miles away, on top of medallions...sure they wont miss 4 times in a row right??? honestly just take me back...chapter 4 wasn't perfect and had its own questionable additions (explosive repeater lmao + optimus mythic...) but lord have mercy. the maps too have also just been...boring? that could be nostalgia but even when i went to OG fortnite fresh out of chapter 4 I enjoyed it a lot. also one last thing, before i end this yappfest of a TL;DR i absolutely DESPISED the convoy mechanic paired with cars in general. I get what they were going for, but it just felt more obnoxious than anything from my experience, since unlike compared to the heists season previously it was less of a fight for the loot or anything and who can grab a car and nuke the boss in 15 seconds and grab the medallion and run away while the nearby POI is fighting. i would have much preferred if it were always static instead of them sometimes having a chance to be on the other parts of the map, again i understand why they did it, but it made for a frustrating experience since unlike in the ch4 season you weren't forced to run through laser traps, guards, fight the boss and then get their keycard and then go to the vault and grab the loot which alerted the entire area and then get out, no. you're out in the open while people are distracted and likely getting third partied, ive done it myself a few times and it also doesnt feel as rewarding, also i'd always find it funny how someone would go for the nitro medallion only to then spend the entire match sitting in the car the entire time not using it, literally had teammates yoink it off me just to do exactly that. anyways this ends my ted talk to why i think this was the worst season so far and i hope epic turns it around next season otherwise itll be basically the worst chapter lmao. (i didnt even talk about what i want to see but i think you can assume based off of my whining.)

honestly best change would be to put battle royal modes as a huge ass button that overtakes the whole menu, and then a little tiny button for accessing the creator modes, because i cant even think what to play half the time lmao
from a casual veiw, sea of theives style pirate ships that can get mods like cannons and get damaged, leak and sink. like chapter 2 style flood map. maby bring back boats and planes military style. could be fun for squads. reparing ship walls with builds and loading/ firing the cannons. stashing heals in the hull etc. this isnt for comp tho. (add muskets too)

im always used to pump shotguns but in these seasons gatekeeper is the meta, so i always use it like a pump and end up dying by players who know how to use the gatekeeper.
im also frustrated about the crazy mobility the game has. For example, when im trying to box fight with an opponent, he just sprints around with nitro and dashes and instead of box fighting he just dashes in to my box and kills me with a gatekeeper before i even box up. For me, the fast paced meta is teribble, im just so not used to it.

i feel like medallions are a good concept just not like how they are rn (in the sense that the best players have them and just win). The problem is every solution i can think of would be extremely rng, would not fix the problem or be extremely enfuriating.
i just want the graphics from chapter 4 back because i cant consistantly get 144 fps i get like 80. I also want epic to remove the attachements because they make the game so much more RNG.
Same, the optimization this chapter has been terrible. In C5 S1 i couldn't even play cuz of how bad it was. Myths and Morals was the best optimized season for me and then we got wrecked... I just hope in the future it will get better. They have said that they'll make the game file size smaller in the Chapter 2 Trowback season. But as i said i also hope the optimize the game, because the further we go the worse it gets.

As a casual, all I want is a good lootpool, nothing absurdly difficult to use, but nothing brainless. It's been many seasons since I've tried going comp (Chapter 2 Season 3), and I really want to, so making the lootpool balanced and fun would bring me back
As both a casual and semi-competitive player, i agree that there's shouldn't be any medallions in competitive game modes, and maybe mythics could be downgraded to the stats of legendaries? I would also like to see different disadvantages of medallions such as 175 HP or 400 max build stacks instead of just having your location exposed; closer to a wastelander challenge because the best players in the lobby will have medallions
The season just came out and I was thinking they were gonna replace nitro back with slap because as a casual it was a really convenient and fun movement option for running around the map. We got a jetpack and flowberries back in terms of movement, no slap :(

I've been saying this for seasons thank you for bringing it up and talking about. The medallions make the game even more unfair and is literally the only comp shooter where 1 person gets insane powers and weapons & they ALWAYS get both medallions and weapons since they are so close together on the map
I totally agree with the medallions. I’m a zero builds player, and my main drop spot is Nitrodrome. Even before I get the medallion, the players that have the other medallions come into the nitrodrome and wipe me out. The worst one is the infinite nitro coin. As soon as I hit them for decent damage, they can just run away, never to be seen again. And there’s nothing I can do. That’s not the Fortnite that I consider really fun. Chapter 5 as a whole so far has been really bad.
Something I’ve thought of for medallions is to add them to mythic guns which may go well but probably not and yesterday was hot hot in England today is better though

I would also like to see the gatekeeper removed for eternity, i know a lot of players like it, but for me its just extremely broken and creates a really boring shotgun meta.
The good meta for the next season in my opinion would be:
1. hammer pump (you have to have a pump in the game)
2. Charge instead of gatekeeper, for a clunkier, harder hitting shotgun.
3. Combat. For me it was extremely fun with this thing in zero build, and its now finally pretty balanced.

Although chapter 2 is coming back i feel like it would really improve the exprience if Epic added an option for old movment and new as well as double mantle builds or not these are small changes that will go a long way and potentially bring alot of people who quit back to fortnite.
they should add an option for old movement but not for mantling, because some people would have it off and some would have it on it would be to hectic and would be considered as having a competitve advantage ig so it would be better if they just kept it on or off for everyone but keep sprinting i feel like without it the game would feel so much slower

Good point mentioning how focused all the good meta stuff was all in the south, the surp cactti were down there, the boss cars were there, medallions, etc, Northern part of the map had like nothing strong until like a week ago when a minigame that turned you into a bean was dropped into the northeast part of the map, and was the most significant change to that area the whole chapter thus far
Would've been nice if they added more slurp cacti to the map, perhaps in the slightly more arid parts in planters like the triple cacti near the Nitrodrome, of course cacti struggle in colder climates so for world building's sake I can see them not adding cacti to the colder boreal and snow biomes, but just more placew besides the desert, too many times have I been like "I could really use a pickmeup... oh right the desert is in the storm, well shucks" and then die cause my car was nearly dead and nowhere was safe
As for the medallions, I feel like Epic did TRY to address the issue of all the medallions being southward by having one or two of them out and about on the patrol, which certainly helped since if you wanted a certain medallion you were going to the same spot all the time, which can free up the boss POIs for more chill looting
However, of course, because cars aren't in competitive, and neither is the patrol, that means every boss is guaranteed to spawn in their POIs, which are all collectively in the southmost portion of the map, meaning you NEED to go there and have the area very contested by other players, and as you said, the highest ranking players are likely gonna get the mythics and medallions first then proceed to fight as gods while the mortals scrounge for what they can, and smiting anyone foolish enough to challenge them without the skills or weaponry
as a casual I have to say I am so sick of medallions, they were kind of a cool concept in season 1, and when season 2 started I liked that they were all different... and then the cerberus medallion turned out to be completely busted, I basically exclusively landed grim gate that season because if I landed anywhere else I felt like I'm at an automatic disadvantage, this season it's a bit better (simply cuz we don't have anything quite as OP as cerberus) but I still always want medallions and I feel like not having medallions puts me at such a disadvantage, I can't lie I love lots of mythics and stuff, but when it gets to a point where it's land mythic POI or die, I just get so bored, if i dont land on megalo don someone else will and then they get a crazy movement boost with little downside to them, the idea they mark you is cool until they're so good it doesn't even matter... which is basically how it's been all of chapter 5. I'd love to see medallions go in chapter 6 if not next season

honestly bullet drop is much better imo. OG loot with low accuracy but hitscan is just seems good for tagging people. the bullet drop is more skill based and you know it's not that rng for where bullet gonna go and I lazer people so bad with ar usually. The old ones you have to tag and wait and with this new ones I just easily carry 2 gun and I know I can spray and tag at long range. old ARs are just sooooo bad and u need always smg and can't hold more shield and you have to either not w key or u gonna be out of shield and lose to someone who is not good but lucky shot and you were low hp. I can't stand hit scan for all and so many other random reason. people just easily kill u on Air without any skill and it's not like one person just each of 4 person around u hit one and it's so unskillfull imo

We could be getting some hitscan weapons back next season, at the end of the trailer you can see a few people shooting what looks to be a burst ar and if you slow the footage down it looks like it's hitscan still

Lets be realistic, they arnt removin medallions or especially mythics any time soon. My biggest problem this season is how i just dont like how it feels like the landing spots are just blatantly BETTER or WORSE. I get thats bound to happen, but opening the map at the start of each game feels uninspiring because you know exactly how the people are gonna split most the time. I wish medallions were RNG just like how GOOD loot is, let people run into the bosses randomly. They obviously liked having bosses drive vehicles so why not do that but remove the map marker. Let people spread out and drop at locations the bosses MIGHT SPAWN AT and either be rewarded or not. I just dont like how its clear where the medallions are immediately cause it creates the problem of having the top 5 players immediately get it
I think they will probably keep medallions because if they remove them before the end of the chapter it would feel kind of embarrassing on epics part

I feel like the main problem with some of the items this season (Magneto, Nitro, Nitro Fists) is that it's much harder to hit them with the current guns. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that projectile bullets are a bad thing per say it's just that movement items need to be based around that. It also didnt help that this season just had some extremely broken items as well like Nitro Fists are objectivly one of the most op movement items in a long while. It's literally just a kinetic blade with no too little downsides.
They just need to split the pubs and comp lootpools, I am a casual, I want fun OP items.

medallions would be cool if they weren't just mythics. Imagine common - mythic medallions like the guns where the POI just drops the highest rarity version.
I find the exclusivity of things to be so much worse than any single item itself. The best OP weapons are the better versions of weapons no one else gets. The mythic AR, is a super AR, cool. The mythic fist gets one more charge, cool. The mythic deagle is a super deagle. That’s balanced.
But having one player with the shield medallion that no one else gets a version of is preposterous. They can simultaneously save an entire slot used for heals and essentially get a sixth item slot. And they can gain over 500 shield over something throughout a game and never have even used a healing item. What the f**k is that?
And like you said, they’re ALREADY the best player in the lobby. It’s an insane advantage to grant to a single player, and even more insane to only grant them to insanely good players.

I would love to see siphon again. There’s no real gain to keying people if your in the lower bracket of comp or even in pubs. It would make the game much more enjoyable. I would also like to see more weapon modding stations available if there’s still mods, as that mechanic is almost completely useless until 3rd zone. I know they were toying with the idea of 200 player lobbies. That would also be super wild to play in. Definitely would find it fun

Yeah the only substantial change to the northeast of the map that I can remember is that half of the ice at grand glacier.
Tbh, medallions aren't a horrible idea but they need seriously toned down. There should be a cooldown effect on them so that you can't keep dropping and picking up shield medallion to refresh it and then playing passively.
I think if they reworked Megalo's medallion to give infinite slap effect instead of nitro, it'd still be worth carrying without being absolutely busted.
Then brought back and slightly reworked Zeus and Ares too.
If they brought back a healing medallion it'd have to be severely toned down.
I had an idea for a medallion that would only use 8 mats per build instead of 10, so what would normally get you 4 pieces would get you 5 under the effect of the medallion, but then it wouldn't work with ZB.

Passive defense that have no use limits are crap - Medallions need to be gone in all modes. They aren't fun for anyone who doesn't have them.
'Insanely broken stuff' - there is no doubt - the first few weeks will be completely unbalanced because...that's the history of every chapter. I can only assume they do this on purpose.
Fix lock mouse input. I shouldn't have to relearn how to build because of bugs that prevent me from making use of a GMK stick.

10:16 As a zero build player, I absolutely hate dmrs/snipers. They pretty much force you to use a port-a-bunker or shield bubble, which promotes defensive play, + doesn’t leave room for extra items.

Worst part with medalions is that, you cannot place good in fncs grand finals without them so if you choose a medalion poi on season 1 and manage to qual for the world cup, your advantage will snowball through the entire year as no one will want to contest you.

I feel a broken gun is at least manageable compared to a broken ability that makes you unkillable , it is like playing hide and seek till the person with the medallion keys you in the end. The person with the medallion who is a full sweat will normally win.
zero build player here, i'm pretty much pubs/casual (in the way that I don't play ranked or tourneys but from what I've seen cashcups and tourneys in ZB are pretty cooked atm lmao anyways, but I'm relatively decent mechanically) atm playing with my brother but this season was also dreadful in that regard, while I can see the appeal to certain things, I feel like epic went too far with like...Magneto power mainly, for us zero build players thats basically ruined the season for us more than cars or anything, especially since cars were easily counterable once they got nerfed and boogie bombs were added and even more so when EMPs were properly reintroduced to the lootpool. Fists weren't usually an issue but thats likely due to us having overshield making us a bit more tanky...But magneto power is just...Why. It would have been fine if it were only 3 charges, and had like a 15 second cooldown per shot, but instead its 5 charges and only has a 7 second recharge...It's a lot harder to avoid than the fists due to if you getting hit, there's a bit of a hitstun and if you don't immediately jump away with nitro fists you're going to get blasted by another rock, and then another and you're dead, unless it bugs out and kills you on the first hit, which yes, can indeed happen! It completely over shadowed anything else they could've done or added with the season, pirates of the carribean stuff (pistol, ship in a bottle etc) or even the recent minigun, barely anybody uses it because they can just jump 50 feet in the air and snipe people with pebbles. I've had matches where I've gotten all 3 medallions only to be bombarded by the rocks with no real escape and its by far the most frustrating thing in the game, since even compared to the reaper sniper rifle (which im glad is gone, please never bring that abomination back...) the person is doing absolutely nothing to earn the kill besides holding down the button and pointing in my general direction. i've used it myself and it's not rewarding, at least for the cars you can argue you still have to aim somewhat (depending on what mod you use) and or drive around, there's like some brain activity there, and again, that's easily counterable by comparison. that aside, i totally agree with your opinion on medallions, most of my games I aim for the nitro medallion because the mobility is just absurd alone, and the faster reload helps too along with the knockback and fall damage immunity, in ZB it gives you a massive advantage in fights, all of them do really, with the shield medallion you can carry more utility if you wanted to (though not entirely recommended, but its an option especially with the cacti around) and the ammo medallion + boom bolt is just self explanatory, what is it, 144 damage with a body shot if it hits them and explodes on them? i may be wrong...but yeah, one person having basically god powers is kinda stupid (or one squad), maybe that's why they added magneto? to make it balanced for everyone else? while i think the waterbending was horrible and the prenerf frenzy auto and prenerf reaper sniper (and even post nerf reaper) were horrible and made their respective seasons mediocre by comparison to previous fortnite seasons this is by far just one of the worst seasons ive played, though that's not saying much since i'm a relatively newer player, only seriously putting in hours in this game back at the start of chapter 4 season 1, i played a long time ago back in the day but building just wasn't my thing (still isn't but no disrespect to those who enjoy it!) so i couldn't get into it. it's just been misses back to back for me, i mean to go from OG to ch5s1 where they remove hitscan in favor of a sniper that can kill you from 300m anyways or 10m due to having custom modifications, no augments or keys, and various other things i cant be bothered to go on about (ive yapped so much already holy moly) to a shotgun that makes the drum shotty blush (you can still get oscars in this season by the way and its still disgustingly OP) to ch5s2 where you had the incredible gassy fart water added WITH NO HITSCAN IN THE GAME, SO PEOPLE COULD RUN FOR EONS...and then waterbending and they saw nobody was using the chains of hades so they buffed that, making it disgustingly op to be able to be basically a shotgun with its melee, and then you could use scorpions "GET OVER HERE" to grab them out of the air or miles away, on top of medallions...sure they wont miss 4 times in a row right??? honestly just take me back...chapter 4 wasn't perfect and had its own questionable additions (explosive repeater lmao + optimus mythic...) but lord have mercy. the maps too have also just been...boring? that could be nostalgia but even when i went to OG fortnite fresh out of chapter 4 I enjoyed it a lot. also one last thing, before i end this yappfest of a TL;DR i absolutely DESPISED the convoy mechanic paired with cars in general. I get what they were going for, but it just felt more obnoxious than anything from my experience, since unlike compared to the heists season previously it was less of a fight for the loot or anything and who can grab a car and nuke the boss in 15 seconds and grab the medallion and run away while the nearby POI is fighting. i would have much preferred if it were always static instead of them sometimes having a chance to be on the other parts of the map, again i understand why they did it, but it made for a frustrating experience since unlike in the ch4 season you weren't forced to run through laser traps, guards, fight the boss and then get their keycard and then go to the vault and grab the loot which alerted the entire area and then get out, no. you're out in the open while people are distracted and likely getting third partied, ive done it myself a few times and it also doesnt feel as rewarding, also i'd always find it funny how someone would go for the nitro medallion only to then spend the entire match sitting in the car the entire time not using it, literally had teammates yoink it off me just to do exactly that. anyways this ends my ted talk to why i think this was the worst season so far and i hope epic turns it around next season otherwise itll be basically the worst chapter lmao. (i didnt even talk about what i want to see but i think you can assume based off of my whining.)

(add muskets too)
