How's reality working out for you now? My girlfiends father moved there 25 years ago and 7 weeks ago was admited to a hospital with breathing problems so and it turns out dementia. my girl few out to help organise and pay for treatment etc and after 6 weeks out in Chiang mai she need to come bac to UK as she didn't know anyone out there apart from his landlady and his ex partner also the flooding was clearly coming. She got back here and within a day the old man passed away. Now his body is in the morgue and we can't bury him or cremate him (I'm not sure if thy do cremation in Thailand.) Morgues are usually in building basements so not sure if its flooded. Also all the area around his old place is under water so we can't actually get to the house.
Move to higher ground until the threat has passed. It’s cheap and better to be safe than sorry. You can vlog anywhere you go. Some people can’t leave. You can. Be well.
I think you're overdramatising the situation. Even without flooding you knew you came in the middle of the raining season. Flooding is usual in Thailand during the Monsoon. In a way,as a travel vlogger you're lucky you can document/report a record flood. That's what reporting is all about, at least you're not in a war zone embedded with troops. You look so scared, maybe SEAsia is not for you. Yep,there are mozzies,etc..use some zinc cream.. and toughen up, you're an Aussie!
Hi Sarah, saw you walk by couple days ago, Sorry I didn't say G'Day... Stay safe and dry and hopefully Chiang Mai will be back up and running as usual next week as the community all work together to overcome these things. Cheers
@@unfilteredtraveldiaries not really Planning I booked the tickets last minute already lol it’s that It’s so sudden I dont have a plan to do anything there xd 😂
You are in Chiang Mai at the most exciting time in decades. According to weather forecasts, the situation is past its worst, everything will be fine. The water level in the Ping River is returning to normal.
I flew out of Chiang Mai last Sunday after being there for 9 days. I stayed in an Air Bnb - Moat 10. It rained almost every day. At one point I went out to do a cooking school in Mai rim which is right on the Ping river which is eroded all the surrounding banks. The properties owner put in bamboo retaining walls but I don't think that they will last.
You'll be fine; I've been in C.M. for over 10 years, yeah, it floods, then it goes down. You're better off staying put than being on some transportation when it's storming.
Is very safe in Chiang Mai city as the water level is not high and mostly are around 300 +-. You just avoided places next to the Ping river will do. Please enjoy your stay in Chiang Mai 😊
Hi Sarah. Shall we meet? This evening? 06.30 pm. At the 3 King 🤴🏽 🤴🏽🤴🏽 monument. I'll be there. Now I just start to going down from the mountain ⛰️. See you.
It's always fun to see the things that we run into as travellers. I think you've added 1000 subscribers since I last checked. Nice work growing the channel. Stay safe.
Hey Sarah! As you know we have been in Chiang Mai for nearly 6 weeks and we haven't really seen any issues with the floods, just stay away from the river and you'll be fine! You're a Queenslander as are we, we have seen and been through worse! I think you need to give Pai another go, you went in the burning season...we stayed 6 days and we loved it, yes it rained a little, but we explored on the scooter and saw a lot of very cool things - as well as having the best pad Thai we have ever had from a guy who cooked out of a little van - selling out most nights! Stay safe ❤
It is not a nature disaster - it is just the wet season - just like last year; next ear and every year - I get the feeling of presence of a Drama Queen. Am I in Danger ….. you ask ? Sorry for being the one to say it out but - YES from the moment you were born - you are in danger of dying. Grow up .
Time to leave Chiang Mai while you can. Floods are not fun, the river will rise regardless of more rain. The aftermath will be a pain. Go back to Bangers.
I've lived in CM for 14 years including the 2011 big flooding and few minor floods and guess what, we've survived just got our feet a bit wet. As other people commented, you're just trying to create drama about yourself to gain attention while the real damage occurs to the locals and animals who live where the floods are happening.
Hope you still get a chance to make plenty of videos, I really enjoy them. You should be just fine, Old City is at least a further 5 meters above where the Ping River sits. Stay safe regardless
It’s fine the ping river has overflowed but continual rain and right now sun has come out .Most of the city is ok ! The other side has flooding that will take a few days to clear up ! Enjoy your stay in the rain .The roads are ok were a cape ! The bars are flooded
It's sad for the people affected by the flooding but for you it's all part of your great adventure. You look fit and capable, I'm sure you will be fine . Was in Chang Mai 2 years ago ,did the Golden Triangle by motorcycle. A lot of fun . You will need to take care though traveling as a solo female but don't worry to much as it will spoil the adventure. Cheers from New Zealand. 🌞

Well young lady you were warned in the last video as to the rain in chiang mai..unfortunately the locals know more than us..all the same enjoy the charm of the city..
Wow! Are you in danger? Most danger you'll experience in CNX will be if the milk is off in your skinny latte! If you really wanted to do a meaningful blog, just think of those a km away, who are in danger of losing their homes, furniture, belongings and businesses. Then hide your phone , go to the flooded areas and actually help them? Or...just head for the airport and go find a 'safe' sun lounger in Phuket!
