Without garages and places to plug in to chargers what do they do. I'm sure the owners are not interested in the millions they would have to spend to install charging stations in the lots. Unless of course they could make millions back. Aside from that the electric here is problematic to begin with, so the utility would have to spend millions to support the added load. aye. One of the reasons for the astronomical car prices is all the surveillance that is packed into new cars now. Remote shut off switches, voice, biometrics, image and occupant tracking. All of that stuff is mandated for the next few years to go live, and all of it is a violation of our right of free travel. Of course, we're not allowed to know where all that data is being sent, what they're doing with it or even to buy a new vehicle without all of that garbage installed in it.

Yet that isn't mentioned. The EPA is telling us what kind of car we have to drive and telling the manufacturers how to build them. Gov. Newsom in California is completely removing gas cars and trucks when we already have high costs and higher taxes as businesses flee.He wants all electric vehicles when we don't have enough electricity now. I could go on. The point is, the EPA and many woke politicians are taking things too far and people just can't afford it. It is killing businesses that provide jobs. It is making shipping even more costly. It is making the building of new homes more expensive. We have to begin to balance what we would like with what we can afford. These laws are being passed by people who routinely fly in private jets while we sit at home. They have two or three homes which are all air conditioned. We are the workers on their plantation and they want us to cut back so they are more comfortable. We need adults in government who understand economics. .
I think they will be downsized. Most states have their own EPAs. I don’t think the Federal EPA has the power to do this. A law like this would have to come from Congress.

He told me to look at the telephone poles and stated that they've been up since the 1930s - 1940s and if neighbourhoods were built on around that Grid Area and every single home had an average of 2-3 EVs in the garages, that the grid would be overloaded to the point that the wires would melt down and the whole area, possibly the whole nearest town, would be without power.

Plus, an electricity grid fully powered by so called renewables does just not work or respectively is very expensive (note the insanely high prices for electricity in Germany, especially in winter time). And as final note: Electric or battery cars are based on a 100 years old technology as well, meaning they were around since that time, even if the technology improved as it did on the combustion engines. People should have the freedom to chose what works best for them, this should not be mandated by a government as it will never work (there is plenty of historical experience on that one, note the GDR).

I know of one instance where someone’s EV died in the winter and it was turned into a brick. It had to loaded on a rollback and transported 200 miles to the dealer. The people sold it right after that.

EPA doesn't have authority to ban anything. They're an agency that's supposed to recommend policy, which is supposed to be acted upon by Congress. They should not have unilateral rule-making with the force of law. Same with the FDA, FAA, ATF, etc., etc.

He told me to look at the telephone poles and stated that they've been up since the 1930s - 1940s and if neighbourhoods were built on around that Grid Area and every single home had an average of 2-3 EVs in the garages, that the grid would be overloaded to the point that the wires would melt down and the whole area, possibly the whole nearest town, would be without power.

Only regret is having to buy 7 dollar gallon aviation gas, when back in the 70s could get Shell pink gas for 50 cents a gallon! This ethanol enriched gas is terrible! In America too, sooner or later city dwellers in particular will be happy about fresher, cleaner air and less noise. There, in particular, people will gradually learn to appreciate electric cars, vans and trucks more and more. And in 10 years your children will tell you: How could you be so stubborn; Why did you fight against it, everything is so much better without exhaust fumes and noise...

@@Pro_Erneuerbare-Energien Well, the Germans always seem to forget that the electricity is mainly coming from coal and gas power plants, so battery cars are not emissions free, the opposite is true. Plus, an electricity grid fully powered by so called renewables does just not work or respectively is very expensive (note the insanely high prices for electricity in Germany, especially in winter time).
And as final note: Electric or battery cars are based on a 100 years old technology as well, meaning they were around since that time, even if the technology improved as it did on the combustion engines.
People should have the freedom to chose what works best for them, this should not be mandated by a government as it will never work (there is plenty of historical experience on that one, note the GDR).

The EPA doesn’t have the power to create a law like this. I live in a cold climate with no charging stations that I know of. I know of one instance where someone’s EV died in the winter and it was turned into a brick. It had to loaded on a rollback and transported 200 miles to the dealer. The people sold it right after that.
