As dumb as some of the plot elements were, this movie really sold me on Superman as a character. He stands for hope and compassion, but does so by showing the other characters (and the audience) why it's better than the alternative rather than just telling.
We really need this done in live action to show ignorant audiences (especially Snyder fans) the real Superman and put to rest their stupid "Superman is boring" nonsense.

What WON me over with this is how EVEN Superman admits how easy your emotions can get the better of you. Emotions are powerful. However, if we ONLY use that as a power fuel sometimes what once was so good and pure, can turn dark and deadly. That’s why it’s important to remember how easy you can lose yourself into your emotions. Superman knows that. I remember how in Justice League where it was Superman birthday and Wonder Woman and Batman saw how Clark was implant with the ‘Black Mercy’. He was living the life HE always dream of. A life, a loving wife, a SON. And when Bruce’s voice echoed in his head he realized this wasn’t real. And how he had to tell his own ‘dream state’ like son how he wasn’t real. You can feel the emotion in his voice as he hugs him telling him he’ll never forget him. And you can hear the angry in his voice when he was released of the ‘Black Mercy’. We saw just how scary he can be when you push someone like that. Superman is a very kind, compassionate character. And he is this way because he lose so MUCH. If losing a love one is hard. Losing your home. Try losing your planet, your race. You are THE VERY LAST of your kind.

In the comics, he just temporarily shut down Black's powers by using his heat vision to bruise and swell that part of his brain, tricking Black into thinking he actually maimed him, but in this one he actually destroys it and takes away his powers permanently.
Considering Black comes back in later storylines with his powers intact(at least in the comics), I doubt it he went that far. I mean the superbots might have done something to him later to suppress his powers like the rest of the Elite, but I don't think even Superman can pull off that kind of surgery mid-fight without risking severe brain damage.

I think this version of Superman is very relatable, the real world is so dark in so many places. We need hope, we can be good and kind without being weak and taken advantage of. I strive every day to still be like my childhood heroes even tho the world has continues to try an convince me only other avenues of thinking are realistic. You find people, when given the genuine opportunity, gravitate towards and respect the hell out of it.
Agreed, Brent. Even Terrence, someone who wanted the Elite's darker actions when his father died and he was so full of anger at Atomic Skull for doing it, knew that Superman didn't have to be how he was before Clark showed the truth of his plan. It shows how even when we give into anger at one point, we can rise above it and be about hope, which is exactly what Superman is all about. Even for how "corny" Clark comes off, he believes in the good in people, even when he said earlier in the movie that "Good doesn't mean perfect.", which he also shows here with how he tricked the Elite and the whole world into thinking he sank to the Elite's level, only to have a plan all the way through.
mhm - my childhood heroes I’ve never forgotten have to be Superman, Spider-Man, Asura (Asura’s Wrath) and Nausicaa (of the Valley of the Wind); if I were to boil down their essences into a single word each, it’d have to be determination, resilience, passion & love, respectively. our heroes aren’t perfect, nothing is ever ‘perfect’, because you can never satisfy everyone - doesn’t stop us from being as close to our heroes and the ideals they represent!
The thing most people keep forgetting is that Superman works outside the law. Like Batman, and Wonder Woman, and the rest of the superheros. So it makes sense for him to not kill, not just because of morals, but because it's not in his job description. They defeat villains, turn them in, and it's up to the authority whether or not to kill them. And they always refuse to. Why is that? If they expect vigilantes to just play judge jury and executioner, then they're as weak and sheep like as the civilians who'll turn their backs on super heroes when they need to complain. It's no hero's fault if the government doesn't want to do their own job. We already seen what it's like when vigilantes take these matter into their own hands with no repercussions, and none of those stories end well. So let's all point our fingers at the real villains.
@@july7498 Superheroes already break the law whenever they really want to. It's like how Batman says he doesnt kill because "we aren't the law", even though he routinely breaks the law everytime he decides to dress up like a bat and engage in vigilante acts like beating people to a bloody pulp, breaking and entering, spying on and invading people's homes and private business areas/labs, assulting people in their offices, etc, etc. No one gave them the right to do any of these things but they still do it because they have powers. They already make themselves the law.
And on my soul, I swear that until my dream of a world where dignity, honor, and justice is the reality we all share, I'll never stop fighting. Ever. And if that victory cannot be obtained, than simply fight forever.
...or until somebody (like The Joker) kills Lois... or worse yet, makes Superman do it! Everybody (save Batsy, as he's too chickenshit!) has a breaking point. Lois being killed..? Goodbye Hero, hello UBER-TYRANT Superman!
This scene represents why I love Supes as a character. He has the power to simply sneeze away an entire solar system, arm wrestle Atlas and move galaxies. Yet, with all this power, all this might that could easily corrupt any man, he chooses justice, honour and humility. He is the representation of why it is important not to become that what you fight. Anti-heroes seem cool when you see them as badasses who don't need to follow the law to in order to dispatch justice, but here, in this very scene, he demonstrated why this is exactly the opposite of what we should he idolising. "It's so easy." sums up about every Anti-hero out there. They let their emotions get the better of them. Vigilante justice is not justice, that is an oxymoron. It is exactly being a criminal entails. Supes showed the value of his ideals.
Love this comment 10/10 just a minor nitpick this isn't pre crisis superman so he can't sneeze away an entire solar system but other than that this is pretty spot on. P.S. I know you were refering to superman as a character in general and not any particular version
@The Pshycho Path "Herp derp lol xd" Its not Superman's job to be judge, jury and executioner, he's not a God he doesnt decide who lives and who dies and he knows that.
Kanoy exactly. Super man has the ability to destroy the planet itself, but he decides to take the high road. He even achknowledge that it's easy to cross the line....but he does the right thing even when it's tough. How many of us would take the high road even if we had all of that power?
It's easier to take the high road when you have a choice. Superman outclassed everyone pretty easily and was in control in the end, so there was never a moment where he had to resort to murder. Anti-heroes are more relatable because goodie goodies like Superman don't exist in real life. You don't always have the power or opportunity to take the high road.
A great component about this movie that even most DC writers seem to forget is Superman fixes everything he breaks. Crashes into someone’s car? Helps them out.
Dreams save us. Dreams lift us up and transform us into something better. And on my soul i swear that until my dream of a world where everyone is saved and happy and none have to suffer becomes the reality we all share. I won't stop striving for it.
Christopher Reeve had charisma is spades; among the tv versions, Tyler Hochelin, Tom Welling and Dean Cain all had their moments. Everyone else seems to have made their portrayal of the character powerful, but boring.
This is why Superman is my favorite DC hero. I once knew someone who always trashed Superman whenever I brought him up. They'd say he's "unrelatable," that Clark Kent is his persona that mocks humanity. He was born a "perfect, overpowered, distant alien." It's not about the fights though. It's about what they mean as a whole. What's unrelatable about a dorky English major from Kansas just trying to do the best he can? What's unrelatable about feeling overworked with the weight of the world on your shoulders? What's unrelatable about being scared that you'll fail and what that failure will mean in the long run? I don't read Superman comics for the fights, I read them for the man they're about.
Your talking buddies are wrong. Clark isn't a persona he dons to mock humanity. That's who the greatest heroes in DC, Jonathan and Martha Kent, raised him to be. Imagine who he could have become if Amanda Waller or Luthor found him as a baby. Imagine the devastation and evil. Instead, Kal-El became Clark Kent, inspired by the awesome humanity of a simple married couple from Kansas.
Superman is one of the greatest heroes in the history of comic books and movies. I don't understand why people think he sucks or is weak, but what some people don't understand what it truly means to be a true hero and that's all that matters. Not if he is the strongest or smartest, but to do the right thing for everyone and everything.
I wouldn't say Supes does the right thing for everyone and everything, it's way more complex than that. This movie is just a weak critique on The Authority, a pretty good comic that dealt with what being a hero would truly mean.
Because without looking into it the main thing people hear about superman is his power His power is the least interesting thing about him.. Huh basically we're all thinking like lex until we get to know him
Except that's the issue with Superman, who decides what a hero is? Just take the example given in BvS, when his dad (memory) told Clark about the heroic thing he did, saving the farm from washing away and prevented their farm animals to drown during a storm, he said his grandma baked him a cake because she saw him as a hero for doing that, which of course he was in her eyes. Then comes the other side of that situation, his heroic deed caused destruction to someone else's farm, namely the Langs' in this case, the Kents driving the water off lead that same water to the farm of the Langs, destroying most of it and drowning their animals. Would the Langs consider Clark/Superman a hero if they knew they were responsible? That's what Snyder was aiming for, no matter how powerful you are, your actions have consequences and that's why the happy cheerful flawless Superman of some of the older iterations just looks childish now. And yes some things could have been better with that movie too so I'm not blind to its flaws either.
People think he's weak because the writers for the comics and movies and shows generally suck ass. These are the same people that think that Superman is overpowered and boring, but then make sure batman always wins and gets the upper hand because of strategy, even when he realistically couldn't survive. He shouldn't be able to survive a hit from a villain like Bane, who could punch a hole clean through him and has no reservations about doing so. And he sure as fuck shouldn't be able to outrun or dudge an Omega Beam. Writers will break all rules and logic to make him win, but still call Superman overpowered.
its easy to have ideals when you are a god. How about you preach your ideals to a father who needs to rob in order to get money to treat his son medical condition?
+BeefSoda And Superman would help them, and has in the past. Get the fuck out. this is no place for haters who don't understand the character and are too stupid to read the comics to know what they're talking about.
kaihedgie you dont read a lot of comics it seems. supermans power is limitless, he reverses time, flies faster than light. just check screwattack superman vs goku, they simply explain superman has no limits. in other words he is a god. look up super man prime. also superman always had these powers. if he didnt then he no longer would be super would he,
Power does not corrupt. Absolute power IS to be absolutely incorruptible. WEAKNESS corrupt. Weakness of character. That's why Superman is the most heroic most iconic most super superhero of all time. That's why they call him Superman.
But humanity is sinful, i.e. weak by nature. Thus, all power exposes the weakness and corrupts the man/woman wielding it. Absolute power is one mistake, one flawed judgment, one moment of weakness away from absolute corruption. Superman himself has shown this multiple times in the comics and shows, it's why Batman keeps the kryptonite on his utility belt now at all times instead of stored in the Batcave like he used to do.
@@SarajevoKyoto You can be extremely powerful, yet understanding and wise enough to wield it responsibly and with clarity Yes humanity is sinful but I guess it really comes down what you believe in Can we defy our nature more often than not or are we more prone to fall to it? Regardless of that stance there are still those with power beyond most others that still know their place and appreciate their circumstances It's a weakness in character, avarice, and corruption of the mind that leads people to change, and people usually tend to fall to this But there are still shining examples in history of leaders, warriors, entrepreneurs and others who have had great power and influence and only ever used it for what is right
I like saying that power doesn't corrupt but reveal truth about person. Afterall when they dont ave to fear any consequences only thing left to restrain them are their own morals.
The both of them are basically what Superman would be if he wasn't raised by the proper people or wasn't allowed to explore other worlds as an individual. There's also Brightburn. He's what Superman would've been if he was vengeful and just wanted to watch everything be destroyed.
I’ll never understand why people want a dark Superman in the solid DC canon. For one-shot offshoots and genre deconstructions, fine; it’s an interesting concept to explore. But Superman isn’t that. I wish people would stop asking for that. That’s why we get weird shit like Injustice.
In this day and age, people seem so obsessed with bringing Superman "down to our level" when the entre point of his character is for him to inspire us to reach his level.
I agree with everything up to saying injustice was weird. I think it fits nicely into one of those off shoots you're talking about. It's one of the few times someone does that "dark superman" right to be honest.
In all fairness, Injustice is interesting. It reminded me of the Justice league episode where they fight the rogue Justice league. And seeing "our" Justice league vs a rogue one can really show you why ours is so great
I agree except for the Injustice part. It's far too easy to make Superman a villain. It's harder to make him a hero who will not abuse his powers for self-benefit. Making Superman a villain is not that interesting because it makes him nothing more than a mere obstacle for a hero to overcome.
@@OddDeity It's not about making him a villain, it's more about making him evil or taking him out of his comfort zone. In my opinion it is an interesting concept but has been overused and I prefer much more to see the good Superman we all know facing situations that put his morality to a test.

Even though he's alien, Superman is more human than so many people. However, he teaches us how we all can be better and be real heroes because no matter what people say, there's always another way to get the job done. Superman taught them that, just as he keeps teaching us too and I will never forget these lessons from him.
Actually, I'm glad you did post this, because the clip of the climatic fight I saw, ends on a note that makes it look like Superman killed the final guy too. This is the real end of the movie, proving that Superman is still the same guy I've loved for years. In fact, he gives a rather beautiful speech about why he could never kill anyone, and the dangers of that kind of attitude.
I know! Maybe it was because I'm a comic nerd, but I was surprised ANYONE seriously believed it would end any OTHER way than them working together and respecting each other. THAT'S why people want to see Sups and the Bat on the big screen- working together, not fighting each other.
Them fighting one another would be epic and awesome, but the debates that people have and arguments that go through there is horrible that it ruins it in the end. But pretty much everyone can agree that them working together would be one unstoppable duo. See Batman/Superman Public Enemies for that.
this is why superman is one my favorite heroes, a true hero, he's not perfect, and no one asked for an alien to help humanity, he was raised and even after knew his heritage, still fought for humanity and his belief of justice and hope, (the latter is the symbol's meaning). even he can be smart enough to pull this off, you should be proud batman. yes it'll scare humanity, but it'll show them that killing isn't the way. this is a true superman, not the injustice one.
Batman: Clark, you clever son of a gun. Wait, since when do you have an army of robots? Superman: Since 19-always. I just didn't wanna activate them. Batman: We could use them. Superman: I'll see what I can do.
This movie shows us that Superman's real superpower is reigning in the temptation to abuse his powers. This is one of those Superman nuances that Zack Snyder never really understood.
This is a great movie and it really shows why Superman is a great character. This is also proof that Supes is holding back whenever he fights anyone not named Darkseid or Doomsday. If Superman didn't hold back he could pull a Saitama and kill all his enemies in one punch.
@@lolstuffenjoy9880 if I remember correctly, the creators said Saitama can destroy his entire universe in 2 punches; the first punch to destroy the half of it in front of him, and the second to turn back and destroy the other half.
I know this comment is 2 years old, but its true. I'm tired of seeing the same gritty old anti-heroes or the not-so-perfect goody two shoes with a dark past. I want a goody-two-shoes who can inspire us into becoming like them, or someone to look up to and to give hope for those in dark times. A beam of light in darker times!
This is a large demonstartion of the real superman we all love, I don''t like what they are doing with the new movie, making a sort of Injustice Story Line, because the Superman there is a very delicate person that changed at the slightest bit of pain, this superman sticks to the true Ideals of peace and justice even when everyone else told him he was wrong, he is a true hero, and the games and movies trying to discredit him dissapoint me, but this reminds me of why Superman is still my favorite hero
"B-but muh Injustice" Read a book, people. The Superman from that universe is not the same as this one. This one also lost Lois to Joker in the Emperor Joker storyline, yet he never turned or even killed him for that matter. Someone did end up broken on that day though, and it wasn't Supes. Guess who it was, though
I love how in this scene superman act the same batman principle but in a very hopefully and solar way. I love batman but is indeniable that in this scene you can understand why people love superman so much.
And here Superman reminds the west of something Japanese teen comics never stopped pushing : The importance of dreams. The drive to achieve something, the grander the better. While your dream might be to one day to write thought provoking bestseller, climb the peak of a mountain, or to start and keep happy family, it's the fact you do have this dream that motivates you through the hardships. It's the voice you hear when you're about to give up. The image of the future you seek. Quite honestly, screw ppl that think superman is cheesy. I know next to nothing about him (apart from nerd osmosis), but this is something the west seems to forget. So go on and dream. Chase the future of your design. Make *your* world a better place.
Well Manchester Black is one thing, but Superman is freaking Superman, one of the most powerful beings in the entire Universe. A guy who can easily annihilate planets with just his fists and can travel billions of light years in seconds. It doesn't take a genius to recognize the immense threat of such power. There is a reason why Supes is always listed as one of the strongest fictional characters ever.
+kungfumaster51 yeah, two reasons: 1)huge amount of fanboys; 2)bad writing. Two main reasons that allow the 5th weakest member of JLU main cast to even compete with the likes of Flash, Captain Atom or Dr.Fate. And yet, you people whine that second weakest member of the cast is sometimes allowed to make a few punches against your idol:D And no, it's not okay even for Black. His powers alone can deal a continent sized amounts of "collateral damage".
People supported the elite killing atomic skull becasue he was a villain who had killed people...What superman was showing them was if they want a someone who will kill the bad guys, who doesn't follow rule of law, who has no mercy, who does whatever they want becasue they have the power to do so and no one can stop them...how bad it can turn out for everyone else. again the elite were the same way, Black basically says to Superman, they'll do whatever they want and kill anyone who upsets or gets in their way... Superman wanted to show the world what a rogue hero can be like...and it scared them. I like the scene before the battle where Lois asks Clark why he needs to face Black, and he says he overheard kids saying they want to be like the elite cause killing bad guys looks fun...killing looks like fun...
to be fair so many people thought of Supes as a boyscout that that was one reason the injustice story line was created to show what he would have been like if he had decided for real to stop holding back
Superman does something showcasing his capabilities as a god among men = fanboys bitching about how he's not supposed to be smart and have everything done perfectly without a single civilian harmed despite being a god-tier superhero with powers and brains to back it up Batman does or survives something impossible for a human because of plot armor/reasons = same fanboys cheer and say prep time and smarts solve anything.
I like both characters, but Batman's fanbase is the worst of any DC character. They've managed to convince themselves that Batman is a legit god because he's smart and knows martial arts.
This is the movie, the scene, and the speech that made me a Superman fan, after literal decades of dismissing the character as boring This is peak cinema
I mean considering the success Henry Cavill is having with the Witcher and with Daniel Craig leaving the James Bond role, Henry's name has entered many rumor mills as the next Bond, it's safe to say he's doing fine. But I wouldn't call his time as Superman a total waste. There's a large section of fans who want him back as Superman, even those who didn't like the three films he was in, said that Henry was never the problem. His passion for the role is readily apparent. If he could partner with filmmakers who truly understand what Superman is about it would be a slam dunk.
Chester tried a second time to corrupt Superman. didn't work that time either, and he ended up killing himself when he found out Clark was the real deal.
It's a shame that when Superman alone he can create good plans and think well, but when Batgod is around, Supes suddenly loses all his brains. Too bad writers have to blow to batman fanboy kids.
I absolutly hate how most people and even writters forget that super man is actually super smart (pun not intentional), and then when you have other heroes along side him like Batman he just become a guy with super strengh that can fly
“This isn’t you… YOU DON’T DO THIS!!!” Amazing to see that even after being the reason Superman “Crossed that line”, he’s suddenly shitting himself when he gets smacked around
That final scene is the essence of what Superman at his core. The original issue of "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice & the American Way?" Action Comics #775 March 2001, Was to illustrate how Supes works and contrasts against the rise of more gritty and Extreeeeme comics of the later 90's like The Authority. This one IS a Classic now.
Superman being overrated is actually what makes him underrated. People always praise Shounen protagonists for always doing the right thing and never turning evil and shit when Superman is much much better when he is being the classic that he is, the symbol of hope
Because these days anime characters maintain that inspiration while current western media keeps trying to break down guys like Superman until they are anything but.
"No! It doesn't have to be that way, Superman! You taught us that!" Um... How can _you_ talk? Atomic Skull was killed just like you wanted. You got your revenge for your dad, thanks to Manchester. You hypocrite.
It's a mixture of fear of what Superman might become and stupidity on the kid's part. That's what happens when the wants of the people turn against them.
Superman is damn terrifying. The Elite work so well because of just how human everyone viewed them but Superman wasn't just a person, he's an icon. To see that fall is extremely terrifying. Couple that with what he is capable of and it suddenly puts everything in perspective. The Elite got cheers because they never were an ideal to strive for;
except the issue is people were starting to view these pychopaths as the ideal heroes. Like superman said he over heard kids wanting to kill bad guys for fun...killing for fun. If people starting following guys like these the world would be getting alot more violent
Alex Mansfield Hell we will be burning. The sick shit going through my brain alone is enough to terrify anyone. But people like me don’t go psycho because Superman exist to show them it isn’t right and there is consequences. If that fell, humanity is toast.

Bats: "Wait, so you just had a small army of Super-robots ready to enact complex strategies and save lives?" Supes: "Yeah, I guess." (Shrugs) B: "You know the Justice League could have really used the reinforcements a HUNDRED times, right?" S: "Come on, Bruce. You know you love the challenge."

Hes not the ppl are . This would have happen because ppl will get tired of that same old same old.

Why can't we have a charismatic Superman like this on the big screen..........
Ivan Fonkoa give him time
Ivan Fonkoa we might synder is suppose to leave after justice league
Ivan Fonkoa good question
Ivan Fonkoa Hollywood doesn't read comics that's why. They do do not understand Superman is supposed to be charismatic.
He was born a "perfect, overpowered, distant alien."
It's not about the fights though.
Because it's fashionable to be edgy and "vulnerable" rather than productive and inspiring
I wouldn't say Supes does the right thing for everyone and everything, it's way more complex than that. This movie is just a weak critique on The Authority, a pretty good comic that dealt with what being a hero would truly mean.
Because without looking into it the main thing people hear about superman is his power
His power is the least interesting thing about him..
Writers will break all rules and logic to make him win, but still call Superman overpowered.
superman is best superhero.. not because of his powers or strength... but because of his ideals, his heart... a type of man I want to be
He's ideal. That's why he's shit.
its easy to have ideals when you are a god.
How about you preach your ideals to a father who needs to rob in order to get money to treat his son medical condition?
Superman holds up these ideals even without his powers. Also, he's not a god :p
+BeefSoda And Superman would help them, and has in the past. Get the fuck out. this is no place for haters who don't understand the character and are too stupid to read the comics to know what they're talking about.

Wrong!
Well, absolute power can corrupt, but to do so, a weakness of character has to be present as well.
@@SarajevoKyoto
You can be extremely powerful, yet understanding and wise enough to wield it responsibly and with clarity
Yes humanity is sinful but I guess it really comes down what you believe in
Can we defy our nature more often than not or are we more prone to fall to it?
Regardless of that stance there are still those with power beyond most others that still know their place and appreciate their circumstances
It's a weakness in character, avarice, and corruption of the mind that leads people to change, and people usually tend to fall to this
But there are still shining examples in history of leaders, warriors, entrepreneurs and others who have had great power and influence and only ever used it for what is right
I like saying that power doesn't corrupt but reveal truth about person. Afterall when they dont ave to fear any consequences only thing left to restrain them are their own morals.
2:21 That right there... is such a powerful comeback against those who think we shouldn't dream.
After seeing Omni Man and Homelander, seeing this is what I needed.
The both of them are basically what Superman would be if he wasn't raised by the proper people or wasn't allowed to explore other worlds as an individual. There's also Brightburn. He's what Superman would've been if he was vengeful and just wanted to watch everything be destroyed.
This is why superman is a legend.

Lies.
+Shadow Prime 9 you're right. It's much stronger
No it ain't. Superman purposely used a light slap.. Batman could slap just as hard.... course, this is more of a testament of Sups control
+TheDeathmail dont you even hear the sound of the impact of his slap? its the same sound of punching.
this is why superman is one my favorite heroes, a true hero, he's not perfect, and no one asked for an alien to help humanity, he was raised and even after knew his heritage, still fought for humanity and his belief of justice and hope, (the latter is the symbol's meaning). even he can be smart enough to pull this off, you should be proud batman. yes it'll scare humanity, but it'll show them that killing isn't the way. this is a true superman, not the injustice one.
As a kid, I didn't like Superman. As an adult and seeing how things are right now, watching Superman gives me a lot of hope.
Batman: Clark, you clever son of a gun. Wait, since when do you have an army of robots?
Superman: Since 19-always. I just didn't wanna activate them.
Batman: We could use them.
Superman: I'll see what I can do.
Do you want a DC Ultron? Cause that's how you get a DC Ultron.
Superman robots are a gift from the Silver Age comics that keeps on giving.
This movie shows us that Superman's real superpower is reigning in the temptation to abuse his powers. This is one of those Superman nuances that Zack Snyder never really understood.
This Superman is basically the definition of a hero making superhero jokes and stuff.Unlike Batman Superman makes light of the situation
It's literally the main trait of his Superman since Man of Steel
This is why Superman is fine just being the perfect boy scout he is
This is a great movie and it really shows why Superman is a great character. This is also proof that Supes is holding back whenever he fights anyone not named Darkseid or Doomsday. If Superman didn't hold back he could pull a Saitama and kill all his enemies in one punch.
Even Saitama holds back whenever he punches people. What we see is just a small fraction of his full power.
@@BenHopkins1000 how do you go beyond one punch
@@lolstuffenjoy9880 if I remember correctly, the creators said Saitama can destroy his entire universe in 2 punches; the first punch to destroy the half of it in front of him, and the second to turn back and destroy the other half.

This is why we need a big blue Boy Scout.
The way Superman slaps Chester across the face 🤣🤣.
This is what I call a good Supeman movie
This is a large demonstartion of the real superman we all love, I don''t like what they are doing with the new movie, making a sort of Injustice Story Line, because the Superman there is a very delicate person that changed at the slightest bit of pain, this superman sticks to the true Ideals of peace and justice even when everyone else told him he was wrong, he is a true hero, and the games and movies trying to discredit him dissapoint me, but this reminds me of why Superman is still my favorite hero
Heck this Superman *has* ideals. DCEU Superman doesn't stand for anything, which is the problem.
When did he change? I saw the same moral integrity that is showed in this video.
@@3Rayfire he does though
Ladies and Gentlemen, when Superman pulled an absolute Batman moment with a Superman twist
"B-but muh Injustice"
Read a book, people. The Superman from that universe is not the same as this one. This one also lost Lois to Joker in the Emperor Joker storyline, yet he never turned or even killed him for that matter. Someone did end up broken on that day though, and it wasn't Supes. Guess who it was, though
kaihedgie who? I actually want to know
black steel Batman
fucking Batman for not killing joker
oh wait
Black also "killed" Lois and he never went bad.
I love how in this scene superman act the same batman principle but in a very hopefully and solar way. I love batman but is indeniable that in this scene you can understand why people love superman so much.
best ultimate prank of superman
The last troll of Krypton
How is this a prank?
@@rosemarrie2391
The joke: Here.
Your Head: Here.
If you look at the Silver Age, you will see Superman has quite a history as a prankster.
The Elite: "Might makes right"
Superman: "lol, okay"
Linkara: "Might FOR right"
Ohhhh Superman, you even had me fooled.
You were having fun there too weren't you!
Batman was about to pull the Kryptonite ring out of the batcave🤣😅
The ring stays in his belt but in the cave he has a lead safe filled with the stuff, all the many colors
I've added a description to explain why the audio sounds weird.

THAT is the Superman I know and love.
Wow. So when Superman stop being compassionate it's a problem but when Manchester killed Atomic Skull it was ok? Damn I hate hypocrites.$"! V )
that's the point of this scene, it shows how hypocritical people get when it comes to choosing their heroes
+kungfumaster51
yeah, two reasons: 1)huge amount of fanboys; 2)bad writing. Two main reasons that allow the 5th weakest member of JLU main cast to even compete with the likes of Flash, Captain Atom or Dr.Fate. And yet, you people whine that second weakest member of the cast is sometimes allowed to make a few punches against your idol:D
And no, it's not okay even for Black.
I like the scene before the battle where Lois asks Clark why he needs to face Black, and he says he overheard kids saying they want to be like the elite cause killing bad guys looks fun...killing looks like fun...
to be fair so many people thought of Supes as a boyscout that that was one reason the injustice story line was created to show what he would have been like if he had decided for real to stop holding back
0:24 Oh so when you kill it's okay but when Superman does it suddenly there's a problem.
Superman just pulled a batman in this one "Tension? Jk bro i've got all the convoluted solutions"
Superman prank video gone wrong gone sexual 2016 social experiment in the hood almost shot almost killed

Superman does something showcasing his capabilities as a god among men = fanboys bitching about how he's not supposed to be smart and have everything done perfectly without a single civilian harmed despite being a god-tier superhero with powers and brains to back it up
Batman does or survives something impossible for a human because of plot armor/reasons = same fanboys cheer and say prep time and smarts solve anything.
For a character touted for his intelligence, his fanbase sure ain't bright :V
geez, can't like you them both?
@@normansmith9009 tell that to "DC fans" who only wanna see BAT stuff
Diego De la Fuente no, I will tell that to anyone who is toxically biased to one or the other.
I like both characters, but Batman's fanbase is the worst of any DC character. They've managed to convince themselves that Batman is a legit god because he's smart and knows martial arts.
This is the movie, the scene, and the speech that made me a Superman fan, after literal decades of dismissing the character as boring
This is peak cinema
THIS is Superman. Not...whatever the DC movies slapped the "S" onto. (I feel bad for Henry Cavill, never being able to escape from its shadow)
Snyder and Henry Cavill created the perfect Superman of the modern age. The fact that many people dislike him validates Zack Snyder's point.
JosephTheCastle Snyder’s point about what? Could you elaborate?
Snyder cut ayyy. And Henry revealed it with Zack. So anything about him not liking it is false lmao
Alexander Christopher about doing the right thing, the tough choice, in the darkest moments and rise above it
Chester tried a second time to corrupt Superman. didn't work that time either, and he ended up killing himself when he found out Clark was the real deal.
That's disturbing. Especially since Coldcast started working for the Justice League later.
@@christiancrusader9374 ColdCast was the only member of that team that could be redeemed. I'm kinda proud of him.
@@gilbertotabares8196 He did good.
I wish Manchester was able to be redeemed. I love a good redemption story. :(
this here is what i like, actual fans of the characters, people that know these characters talking about them in a cool discussion....unlike the fakes
"Clark, are you okay?"
"People are losing hope, Lois"
"Where are you going, Dad?"
"Back to work"
It's a shame that when Superman alone he can create good plans and think well, but when Batgod is around, Supes suddenly loses all his brains.
Too bad writers have to blow to batman fanboy kids.
I absolutly hate how most people and even writters forget that super man is actually super smart (pun not intentional), and then when you have other heroes along side him like Batman he just become a guy with super strengh that can fly

That sounds about right.
Imagine if Superman was you're father and he slaps you with a slap that feels like a hard punch
Depending on how shoft the Slap is it can go from Punch to get Hit by a Truck
You can imagine how so very carefully he had to do that to avoid smacking Black's head clean off. 'World of cardboard', right?

Better than Man of Steel and BvS.
“This isn’t you… YOU DON’T DO THIS!!!”
Amazing to see that even after being the reason Superman “Crossed that line”, he’s suddenly shitting himself when he gets smacked around
Superman saved the day, yay! Too bad my car insurance doesn't cover Kryptonians making a statement about violence. I'm moving to Gotham.
and? you're gonna die faster over there
Hmm. How's Star City looking?
CrownRock1 not too bad me thinks
Wait you live in Metropolis and didn't get Kryptonian Insurance? That was your own damn fault.
just dont go to coast city, insurances wont cover lanterns
Superman being overrated is actually what makes him underrated. People always praise Shounen protagonists for always doing the right thing and never turning evil and shit when Superman is much much better when he is being the classic that he is, the symbol of hope
Because these days anime characters maintain that inspiration while current western media keeps trying to break down guys like Superman until they are anything but.
You see? Superman was always more than just his powers, he's also proved to have a big brain too as he just showed here.
"No! It doesn't have to be that way, Superman! You taught us that!"
Um... How can _you_ talk? Atomic Skull was killed just like you wanted. You got your revenge for your dad, thanks to Manchester. You hypocrite.
It's a mixture of fear of what Superman might become and stupidity on the kid's part. That's what happens when the wants of the people turn against them.
Superman is damn terrifying. The Elite work so well because of just how human everyone viewed them but Superman wasn't just a person, he's an icon. To see that fall is extremely terrifying. Couple that with what he is capable of and it suddenly puts everything in perspective. The Elite got cheers because they never were an ideal to strive for;
except the issue is people were starting to view these pychopaths as the ideal heroes.
Man, I don't think George Newbern's voice matches for Superman, but his delivery was fantastic in this movie. He VA'd the hell out of this, mad respect.
0:02 the disrespect in that bitchslap hahaha, maybe that felt like a truck bitchslap xD
Bats: "Wait, so you just had a small army of Super-robots ready to enact complex strategies and save lives?"
Supes: "Yeah, I guess." (Shrugs)

S: "Come on, Bruce. You know you love the challenge."
