While waiting for us to swim with the whale sharks, we took time to read blogs and articles online to educate ourselves about the unethical practices of Oslob whale shark swimming. 1. We found out this is very harmful to the whale sharks because they will now always associate boats with food. If they find boats in the wild with propellers, this could hurt them. 2. This ruins the whale shark migrations. They are meant to travel around the globe from Mexico, California and to Philippines. By not traveling the oceans, this prevents them from swimming in waters with lots of nutrients. 3. The food they are feeding the whale sharks in Oslob is not very nutritional which hinders the proper growth of the sharks. Also prevents them from giving birth to more sharks which is bad considering they are already endangered. 4. 60% of income goes to the fishermen, 30% to the town, 10% to the locals. No money goes to the preservations and care for the sharks. 😢
That is really sad! Dept. of Tourism need to put a stop to this asap! Find other ways for the locals to help and supplement their income. There are a few vloggers who refused to do this.
Was about to point these out...kudos to being open to the real and scientifically-backed repercussions of this frowned-upon practice....also why I didn't go back nor endorsed it to my friends and family...
That's wrong. You saw it personally with your eyes that they conduct a 3-minute briefing to the visitors on the do's and dont's while swimming with the sharks. Unless you skipped the briefing that you missed it. If no money goes to the preservation or care for the sharks, then why these sharks keep increasing by the number since the attraction started in 2012? So, what does the 3-minute briefing on the do's and don'ts mean to you? Do you have any proof that because no money goes to the shark's preservation and care in Oslob causing their population to decrease? You witnessed it yourself how many boats are there out in the water? Don't tell me that those 100 hundred people at a time, distributed among 20 boats, more or less, were swimming with only 5 sharks. If you noticed, the boats were positioned like a single line, maybe about 300 meters long from end to end. Even before the attraction started in 2012, the sharks have been visiting Oslob since time immemorial. In fact, in early 1970s, while I was in grade school, I already heard about whale sharks in Oslob, being butchered or killed because they were considered as pests due to their being accidentally ensnared by fishing nets. People outside Oslob never heard and saw about existence of these sharks species. Because the most common shark species which are always advertised or printed in many textbooks, popular magazines and even TV and movies, are the ones who attack people such as great white sharks, bull sharks, tiger sharks, etc. Rarely are the whale sharks being seen on popular literature. Never are the sharks being portrayed as gentle. The only time people started to learn about whale sharks was when the Oslob whale sharks watching became an attraction in 2012. Since then, more and more peoples became aware that not all sharks are dangerous after all. The Oslob whale sharks watching have become a great platform to educate people about their existence and preservation. It allows people to become aware and eventually become vanguards of the preservation of these gentle giants after learning their nature and state of vulnerability. So that whenever they see anyone poaching or harming whale sharks somewhere around the world, they would be able to do what is necessary relative to the protection and preservation of these sharks.
Grabi ng enjoy pod ko ug tan aw sa mga vids ninyo Yani & fabio while naa mo dha sa pinas..ayaw kalimot sa pg visit sa isla de fuego Island of fire in Siquijor my home town
wow so nice you got to experienced a lot of stuff in cebu-- you havent gone to the north side like bantayan island and some city tour in cebu...hope you still have the time to explore the whole cebu province
Everytime Fabio gives a good review of our food and place, I feel proud because our country is really beautiful and our delicacies are pass to his taste.. thank you Fabio ❤ of course Yani too ❤.
@@YaniandFabio Filipinos migrated because we are skilled workers and we can speak English as well. We didn't have to put a restaurant of our own, but rely on other skills. Filipino food then can only be experienced abroad if you have a good Filipino friend and got invited in to taste home cook Filipino food unless of course you are in the Philippines
Whaleshark in Oslob finally!!! Wish to be able to do this as well in the future, however I'm not a good swimmer coz I almost drowned in the ocean when I was young. Watching other people enjoy this makes me wanna conquer that trauma. The most that I can do is snorkeling, and whenever big fishes swim towards me I get scared 😂😂😂 panic panic panic. This is definitely in my bucket list!
I'm so happy that you somehow followed all my recommendations. (Though I know EVERYONE's been recommending those places to both of you) 😂❤ such a tiring yet happy place right? ❤it's a paradise😊
Gosh! That's a lot of people. I was there in Oslob in 2017 and it wasn't this packed. Fabio complaining about the "freezer" is cute. I'm so used to "freezer" AC that when I go to places like Japan, Taiwan, Korea, 10 degrees Celsius weather is nothing already - my mom would be complaining already of the cold. Fabio and his sunglasses - funny!
That is very sad. I'm not proud of the process . Too many people all at one . The facility does not have crowd control...Yani I wonder if there is a way to turn up the air temperature or close the vents?

Welcome to Fabio Eats where eating is an endless adventure! 😊😋
Taho with condense milk 😅😅😅 this is the first time I saw one coz I am a fan of the conventional taho

It's Tofu! Love Taho.
I had no idea
Wow 😍😍😍
Nice beach ⛱️and clear blue water 🚾 💧
It was so blue, really special
I missed those baby sharks when i went there 😢 i’ll be back soon!
We love our AC, Fabio. That's why we have thousand malls

😂 yes the ac is wild!!!!! I like ac, but not blasting as if we were in the North Pole 😂
Ka cute nimo mag binisaya Yani oiiiii hahahahha
Ilang days nalang sila
What area is the location with small black tip baby sharks near the shore?
That's the reality vs instagram , the crowds. Happened to me in Coron too but still worth going😊
😅😅
I guest the AC should be cleaned…then regulate the temperature when you turn it on🫶🏻 Enjoy but take care…sending positivity and love from UAE 🇦🇪
❤️❤️ thank you for watching
🌼🌼🌼
Dalhin mo ba sa lugar nyo si fabio? Yani?
I think you can fix the thermostat on the AC or maybe close the vent a bit?
For sure! We tried to close the vent but didn’t work 😅😅
Negative fabio + espresso = positive fabio😂
😂 the math is now mathing
I think you sweetties need to have a one day rest. Just a spa day and a beach relax day.. its been non stop daily..
You’re so right! ❤️
Taho is soft tofu
soya is a bean
Taho is made up of tofu, sugar syrup, tapioca n milk
Fabio can keep up with the whale sharks which means he’s a very good swimmer. Yani looks like Piolo’s bro.
I love swimming ❤️❤️❤️
No condensed milk
Poor Fabio😔
There is no condensed milk in taho.
Fabio should try dinuguan (blood soup), bopis (spicy chopped pork lungs), and of course, Balut!!!! 🌟
🫢🫢 I don’t eat meat though 😅😅 otherwise I would have
That is very sad. I'm not proud of the process . Too many people all at one . The facility does not have crowd control...Yani I wonder if there is a way to turn up the air temperature or close the vents?
It was quite a wild experience
Looks favio sleepy and tired
I am 😂 but luckily last night I had a good night of rest
