      Most intelligent people have some kind of obvious quirk in their personality. Ur brain moves so much faster so u disregard certain things that other people value highly.
      Like Einstein and his hair, Jordan Peterson and his frail demeanor, Zizek and his lisp, Karl Marx and his hygiene.
      I have a higher tier IQ and I speak in a very peculiar way, I talk to myself as I do things, freaks people out until they understand me more. It's just par for the course.
      I knew this guy who was very intelligent. Like Bobby Fisher smart. And he could only communicate through text. No social anxiety or anything he just realized it was more efficient. And his texts were very simple. With emojis and stuff. But this same guy was an expert engineer and played with his crispr kits as a hobby. He invented his own smart phone powered robots and designed these huge skyrim mods that completely change or enhance the game and the way u interact with it. I could never beat him in chess. And he was a multi millionaire. But dressed like a hobo and spoke only through text message.
      Smartest guy I ever met. I think his IQ was somewhere in the 180s. My own is about 167 which is similar to Bill Gates and Einstein. So my brain was like a child to this guy.

    I thought first-wave feminism was about women getting the vote, second-wave (‘50s & 60s) was about equal pay and third-wave was about general man-bashing and “equity.” By equity feminists mean that women have not less than 50% of the “good” jobs in government, academia, the professions and executive positions. (They aren’t agitating for 50% of jobs that involve working in a sewer and the like).

      This is the fact about "equal pay". A wage (pay) is made by consenting parties . No one can force someone to pay him/her a set amount no matter the reason. If for some reason they wont pay you 13.00$ becuase of your race or sex then find work somewhere else. I must be in the minority but ... what is her POINT? She says that 2nd wavers were all winging on men (true ..., and annoying) but SHE herself was winging on women all through this monologue. How is that different?
    And I get it that 2nd wavers have their problems, but at the very least they have a very clear agendum, one that does not represent or benefit nearly as many women as they had wanted, but a clear one anyway - equal opportunity (for professional education and for employment-payment). Meanwhile she gave no agendum at all. How is that better?
    Also, the pioneering women professionals she mentioned, who wanted “equal opportunities so that they could achieve the same as men” ... exactly how do they diverge from the second wave?
    I mean, despite all the problems the second wave has, it is the last time a feminist movement presented a coherent and workable (or at least seemingly workable) agendum that united a sufficiently large group of people - hence, a wave. All those following “waves” are just ... froth.

    • @user-yp6yr9te7l
      @user-yp6yr9te7l 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I would agree, I think she was pointing out the roots of problems in feminism as having started in the 2nd wave. The existence of the grievance type rhetoric and premise, which now is all post 2nd waves amount to. 3rd and 4th waves aren't just froth, they are infected by sophistry and asinine ideas heretofore unrelated to feminism.

      Maybe read her books first then. It may help in your understanding of her arguments. Her frenetic style may be distracting for the uninitiated, but once you’ve read her works it becomes a lot clearer. The room is packed for a reason.

    She spends about 4 and a half minutes insulting other women and the rest of the time making vague references to feminist ideals without actually making any points whatsoever.
    Please for the love of God go watch Judith Butler instead, they've been instrumental in 3rd and 4th wave feminism and she actually knows what she's talking about.

    As sad as it may be, Camille is a distraction. She may be a chatter box about sins of the feminism, but to even think that closing borders will save western civilization is a useful idiot attitude. So how all this grand speech brings us to producing more mentally stable kids to at least sustainability level or at most to a position of withstanding multi-million threat of rabbit-style breeding barbarian cultures? Zero progress. Just a distraction, preventing from acting, buying time for social engineers to finish their job. Thanks!

    Unfortunately she is not sound on Earhart and her struggles (with men/the culture) as usual she is superficial. Paglia was meaningful decades ago on popular culture and did useful stuff BUT has a problem. She has never apparently realised that a subjugated class struggling to free them selves of so much, will make mistakes and that in the long run these mistakes may help achieve greater clarity far more in (perhaps more subtle ways) than the more accessible ideas. Silly woman, wants to be relevant, pleases men, and transgender. Silly cow.

    • @saerain

    • @marcusTanthony
      @marcusTanthony 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      She IS transgender! People and groups make mistakes. But when they don’t learn from them and keep repeating them year after year they deserve sharp criticism. Paglia is now just one of many women beginning to criticise feminism for the great mistakes it has made, for what it has become.
