- This video is a study of diesel locomotives, many long since scrapped, working in the electrified sections of the Sydney Metropolitan area between 1992 and 1996. Representatives of many classes, including 48s, 49s, 442s & 44s, are featured on a variety of trains, from maintenance and trip trains to high priority express passenger services.
Witness astonishing scenes of diesel locomotives blasting through the Sydney Underground and storming over the Harbour Bridge; triple 442s tackling the grades of the North Shore line with a huge maintenance train, 49s roaring up to Rosehill with the Sandown oil train; the last runs of the Grafton, Sydney and Canberra expresses, and much more.

By and large it's an era I really missed growing up, I missed a large portion of 80s/90s QR as well.

Burwood goods yard at the bottom of the screen in the last scene. Don't know how they jammed a 15 story unit block onto that small space but they did eventually. CBA offices on the other side of the line.

Some great shots, Just a question, In the actual DVD are the consist cut off as seen here? Personally The train behind the loco I find more interesting especially when it comes to researching trains.
