Just got mine a week ago after a 6 month wait. Hydro Blue level 2 with most of the upgrades. Love it! I find it's size takes some getting used to after being a Tacoma guy all my life. Thanks for the great review.
@@jcdebbs No mark up. The window sticker was 3 k above the agreed price at time of order due to pricing increases on the TRX. My dealer gave me the 3k below window sticker price
@@baconeggstoast5327 The Tacoma was the most reliable and capable vehicle I ever owned. I absolutely loved it. I owned it since 2009 and only replaced the starter, battery and brakes. I was worried that I'd have buyers remorse when I got the TRX and miss the Tacoma. I like the ZR2 also tho.
19k miles since getting our 22' TRX in the Spring. Used as a daily driver - transporting our 2/4/6yr olds to school/Nannies around metro-Phoenix. Also Sunday off-road trips now the weather is finally cooler. Added dark window tint and film (including windshield) and BakFlip bedcover. Only one issue with a #7 cylinder misfire (replaced plug at dealer/perfect since). Gen1 Raptor had new engine at 6k. Gen2 Raptor had multiple IWE failures and chronic cam phaser issues. At least Raptor owners can meet each other... in the Service drop off and lounge. Also SLP Loudmouth resonator (replacement). Had a 2014 (with a Whipple/full ICON suspension) and then 2017 Raptors prior... no comparison re: 'smiles per mile'. Paid $9k below MSRP and they price locked it too (ordered Oct' 21) from Granger Motors in Iowa ($95k final MSRP by delivery). Ready for new tires and another (6th) oil change. This is an emotional driving experience that few vehicles can replace re: such diverse daily and weekend duties.
Got my 2022 level 2 back in May and it still feels like a dream. Gas mileage is not that great but the power and sound of that hell cat engine is worth it to me. It's a thrill everytime i get behind the wheel.
@@MitchellHoppewell you’d be pretty stupid to buy a trx for good gas mileage lol that’s a given when there’s a 700hp supercharged v8 under the hood. Stick with your Prius
I wish Ram had the TRX with the 392 V8 under 60k, they would sell like pancakes. I cant afford a 700HP 90K truck with 10 smiles per gallon but I can surely get a 500HP 60K truck with 19 Smiles per gallon :)
Nice video 👍 My current daily driver is a Wrangler 392 but I’ve been eyeing the TRX. Not sure I could pull the trigger with fuel costs though. I’m assuming the TRX requires premium? Anyway, looks like an awesome truck. Take care
It's a $90k+ truck. If you're on the fence because you might have to pay for premium gas, you probably shouldn't be buying a $90k+ vehicle. Sorry but you had to hear it.
@@TheKingOfInappropriateComments dude, I paid $88K for my 392…still doesn’t change the fact that premium is $5.10/gal and was recently $6.50. My 392 gets 15.5/mpg while I’m betting your TRX gets 8. Maybe you see my point now smartass.
@@chrisrosenbaum26 Actually I don't see your point. If you can really afford a $90k toy, a $150 fill-up shouldn't even be a blip on your weekly expenses. You wouldn't think twice about it. It's inconsequential. This is the same gripe that I have with Toyota having a Tundra hybrid only available in the most expensive grandpa trims but the blue collar working man who needs a work truck gets no help. If you need a truck, fine, you have plenty of reason to complain if you're driving a new truck in the $40-50k range bone stock without large offroad tires and a supercharged engine. You may have the money laying around to buy a TRX or at least be able to make the payments on a 84 month lease but if you hesitate because of gas prices, I suspect you really shouldn't be spending this kind of money on a toy. Unless maybe you had such a large tax liability you were just looking for a $90k deduction. Even then, you probably wouldn't care too much about the horrible fuel economy. With that financial advise out of the way have you thought about maybe a Subaru?
It really gets only 10-11mpg...maybe 12 on the freeway...I didn't get my TRX with the worry of MPG...I got it for what it is. I guess that's the mindset people should have if they're interested in one. Previously I was daily driving a BMW M6 V10 which only get 10mpg no matter what you do and is nowhere near as capable and useful as the TRX
@@motoken Around a year ago I sold my truck with 34" MT tires because it too got 10mpg no matter what. Even on the highway rolling downhill with the engine off. It was always expensive to fill but the real kicker for me was all time having to stop to fill up. When you have only around 250 miles of range to the tank you have to fill up constantly and even with $2 a gallon gas that got annoying real fast. Life is too short to spend 15 hours a year getting gas.
Have you done anything to keep it running a bit cooler or have any gremlins pop up ? Ive noticed mine gets a bit hot in stop and go traffic and gets up to 200 plus pretty fast for ic temps. Once you get up and going temps do come down tho.
