    Question...can I control NI Komplete with the Maschine +?

  • @Hoergraete
    @Hoergraete 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Concerning 1:20 where he plays & records the chords via the pads: Can you manually assign chords to pads? Also with an connected MIDI keyboard for example? Or how is it done? Also can you run those chords through an arpeggiator when pressing the pads? Or strum them via the touch ribbon while holding a pad? What happens when you press multiple of those chord pads at the same time? (just trying to wrap my head around the possible workflows)

    • @slipperz87
      @slipperz87 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      He did this by pressing the Chords button, and once in chords mode he would have assigned the key and major minor scale using the knobs, and then selected "chord sets" (but these steps weren't shown). Chord sets are selections of pre configured chords that are a little more complex and interesting than basic triads and 7ths. Unfortunately you can't load your own chords into chord sets, but you can edit them once they're tracked. You can arpeggiate the chords in chord sets by striking the pad whilst holding the Arp button. Hope that helps :)

      @@slipperz87 Thank you! Yes that answered my questions perfectly!

    • @shayansya7053
      @shayansya7053 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Hoergraete You technically can strike your own chords by going into KEYBOARD mode and holding the keys that make up your chord. Im pretty new to making music, I have some rudimentary abilities and knowlege from fiddling around with sythns in the past. But now I've invested in Komplete Ultimate collection I feel a bit overwhelmed with the technology. Can anyone give me some good advice where to start? With my playing, getting to know the tecnogly, using my DAW(fl20) in tandem. Just some orienteering direction advice as it's all very complex and daunting right off the bat. I'm excitied with the potential and would be very grateful with any advice to get the creative process going 🙌

    • @Super-id7bq
      @Super-id7bq 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'd put a day aside for each library or synth. Don't make any actual music, just organise your favourites. Then when you do come to make some music you can quickly navigate to the stuff that inspires you most rather than wading through thousands of shit presets that aren't in your pallet.
      All the top dog producers I've known over the years have a day of the week where they just focus on sound design or organising their sounds and they keep that separate from the days where they focus on music.

    • @astralbeatsmusicproduction5114
      @astralbeatsmusicproduction5114 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@astralbeatsmusicproduction5114 Yeah it's super useful to put that time aside. There is nothing that will kill a writing session like spending an hour trying to create a sound. At least for me, I feel half the process is just making the tools get out of your way so you can focus on being creative and keeping that flow. Having a few templates doesn't hurt either so you can just open up a new file and your backline is all set up and ready to rock.

    • @Super-id7bq

      @@astralbeatsmusicproduction5114 Years ago I just happened to end up talking to the trombone player from Simply Red (random as fuck story, I'm not a Simply Red fan by any stretch) and I was saying I'd love to learn the trombone. He gave me one of the best pieces of creative advice I've ever had which was "keep the instrument out the case and on a stand so you can pick it up and play it at a moment's notice. The moment you put it in a case it becomes just enough effort to be an annoyance in setting it up which means you'll never practice". While I never learned the Bone, that piece of advice had a massive impact on my general setup, with everything wired up and routed in a way that all I need to do is turn it on and I'm creating. Taking it even further I also have an Evernote widget on my phone's homescreen so within two seconds I can be recording an idea.

      yeah because he played the bassline and lead synth in two different key signatures. I was hoping he'd go back at the end and change the notes, this is why I always recommend learning piano. The first chord sounded like an Am but it's been detuned in the preset, thats why he was thrown off. He should have retuned it first then gone back and detuned the whole song together if he wanted that effect, could have been a nice track otherwise.

    3:30 Pad +bass, already at 50 percent..i would like to know ni if there will be a cpu upgrade ,not in the hardware but software sense, better performance in the future. Why did you choose an atom instead of intel (i3/5/7/etc) or amd or ARM. Even a lower cpu one would be alot more powerfull instead of an atom. If i think atom i think low electricity usage, for a netbook. But since the plus doesn´t have a battery that´s not relevant. I mean 1400 for no battery, low performance, no touchscreen or eazier way to edit midi, and shat is the Bluetooth for on the box? You should´ve made a full ipad app and make that compatible with every maschine out there, i would´ve paid 200 for that, since the ipad is very good in cpu performance. And i have a big screen to edit, and a battety that lasts long...

    • @astralbeatsmusicproduction5114
      @astralbeatsmusicproduction5114 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of the high cpu usage comes from the rediculous amount of effects that are loaded on the preset sounds/groups. To be more efficient you can load the effects into sends and delete them off the individual sounds. This'll cut the cpu usage down dramatically.
