I’ve got a 2022 monkey. Here in the U.K. on our congested roads it’s just about the most fun you can have on two wheels. Add to that superb build quality, 100 mile plus mpg, cheap insurance etc etc it’s a no brainier. Apart from a tail tidy my bikes bone stock, and I like it that way 😄
I got my motorcyle license on my new 1971 CL70. We ran in packs on our similar sized bikes in my day..great memories. The elephant in the room is avaiability and OTD cost. You touched on it briefly. The dealers in the 70s had these bikes lined up in the showroom and stacked to the ceiling in crates in the back. (Most of the smaller bikes were packed 2 to a crate). Think of how many people are missing out! You should have mentioned the SL70 in your vintage list....ate the CTs alive.😀😀
Really hope you guys start getting into minimoto racing, I saw the 150r build and I’m actually building one currently with Jim at MadLabs and it should be a ripper. If you’re ever coming out to the Oklahoma City / Dallas area my buddies and I race our 150r’s frequently!
I think it’s worth mentioning if you’re my size (6 feet 240 lbs) that you’re actually over the manufacturer suggested weight limit for some of the Honda mini motos. So you might have issues with shocks bottoming out or sluggish performance. But you can still enjoy the “mini bike” fun with slightly larger bikes like the Yamaha tw200 or the Kawasaki klx 230 which actually comes in several different trims. You can get the 230 as a supermoto, and they have two different size dual sports; one a little more normal sized and a lowered version to accommodate shorter riders. Both the klx and tw are great for bigger guys who want to ride with a crowd of groms and because they are smaller than 250cc they really are considered like a big guys mini moto by some folks.
My first bike was a Keystone Minibike available in the US at Miracle Mart for $129. It was built in Naroshino City, Chiba Prefecture Japan by Tanaka Kougyo Company (manufacturer of small engine products including, gas weed eaters, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, generators etc). The engine is from a power rickshaw, the bike was designed by Keystone Canada 7 USA, a company that specialized in the manufacturing of custom car wheels. I think the new way is more like shopping buggies.
I'm a big fan of the Honda Navi but I wish they'd put a Grom 125CC engine with a 5 speed in it. I'm not a fan of hydraulic brakes or aluminum wheels. That being said if Honda made a CT-125 with cable brakes and the 2 speed transfer case I'd get one of those instead.
Just an idea guys: If you want to grow the channel instead of saying 'go check it out' when you mention another vid you've done, put a card in the corner or a link in the description. Do the work for your customer. JMO
A 250 mini would be great too, saves spending fortunes on big bore kits and Aracer tuning gadgets, something we can get to 75mph plus on the odd motorway blast between country roads and towns, that get through a headwind better or failing that, something with the 15.5hp limit for a 125 here in the UK and Europe instead of 9hp or barely more. p.s check out the clone icebear 125 bikes also if you want a ct70 with a bit more power and stick in a 190/212 motor in.😁
Haha. Alex needs to “calm down”? I do agree though that seems sketchy fast for a small bike like that. You guys should do little drag races with these mini moto, on road and off road.
Honda's car lines have a LOT to do with making the 2-wheelers, generators, boat motors, string trimmers, lawn mowers, jet plane work, robots, ATVs etc available. Sure, they must all be profitable but the revenue advantage has always been real.
Not sure about one for me six foot two two hundred and sixty pound so I will stick to Supermoto thanks tried a Grom and needed more suspension and a lot more power to haul me around the one I tried had every go faster goodies and suspension upgrades. It cost over the purchase price way over, I would by the Bennelli if it was available but here in the UK it is not learner legal we have a 125cc and 12hp cap.
ALEX.... SO U DONT LIKE TO SPEAK ALL THROUGH OUT THE RIDES ON THE VIDEOS.. ITS TOUGH TO DO COMMENTARY AND DRIVE OR RACE ... .. CAN WE GET YOU TO TAKE US ON A POV .. WITH SOME VOICE OVER THEN? CAUSE YOUR A LOVER OF THIS STUFF AND I THINK U WILL BE HELL OF ENTERTAINING WITH OUT THE LIVE CHAT WHILE RIDING .. I LOVE WATCHING THIS CHANNEL .. I HAVE CPTSD SO IM HOME WAITING ON THE SPOT ... AT VIDEO LAUNCH..... WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU RACE OR COMPETE .. GREAT ENTERTAINMENT 🙏🙏❤️❤️👏❤️ HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY LOVE THE CHANNEL .. BEEN HERE SINCE DAY 1
Considering inflation, these cost what a 200-350CC would have cost in the 70s. They are better bikes in many ways, but overall the mini motos should be cheaper. The $1800 Navi is apparently showing us this is not possible today. The beginner is still being pushed into about 400CC and larger, when it's not necessary. The only new bike that comes close to what a "beginner bike" should be is the Lifan 200CC models at about $3K. The Japanese have left that space entirely, and *lack of new riders to the hobby* is the result.
Same here mate! I’ve ridden the monkey and and the grom. Tons of fun. But I fell to big. And I’m like average for a Swede. 6’2 and 220 lbs. Best minimoto I’ve tried is the Suzuki Van Van 200. Awesome and really comfortable. Unfortunately a bit rare in Scandinavia.
I thought this was a video channel to show motorcycles, but all we see is your ugly mugs front and center with barely visible bikes in the background. Why not put the bikes 🏍 front and center , and you in background, unless it’s to show Ricky road racer Alex dropping Honda Cub.
The longer your video is the fewer people will watch it. I’m pointing this out because you seem to be making this mistake over and over again ... creating unprofitable videos. EVERY video you’ve posted with over 100k views is shorter than 20 minutes. When you are about to post a video and it is longer than 20 minutes you are making a mistake, again. I did not watch one second of this video. I paused during the intro commercial to write this comment.
Watched to the end (skipping the navi and ruckus...ahem those are scooters) and the longer they talk the more they illustrate how little they know/understand
I bought a z125 a couple months ago and love it. It may not be fast, but it’s a blast to ride. I can’t complain about the 90mpg I’m averaging

I lucked out and just got a trail 125 here in Colorado someone couldn't get it and i was next on the list im stoked

Any chances of reviewing YCF mini moto? They have turn key mini supermotos that are well priced
super cub does have the heel toe. have 8000+mi on mine its a lot of fun

If Honda did bring the Dax here you would probably never be able to find one.
I had a Kawasaki ke100. It was a awesome little bike. I had so much fun on it.
Yesss the ke 2 strokes are rippers
ksr110 is cool, first ever mini bike i owned and have loads of aftermarket parts long before the Grom came out.
I’m cheap I can afford a Navi but I want a trail 125
so no Benelli TNT125? killer price and specs, it's #1 choice for me when it comes to mini-bikes
Except it’s an Italian designed bike manufactured by the Chinese. Worst of both worlds when it comes to motorcycle engines.

Wait. Do u guys live together?
I have an R6 and a Surron...I ride the Surron more.
f.y.i Harley did do a mini bike many years ago i think it was a rebranded airmacchio or something like that.
That was an Italian made bike and harley owned 50% of the stock so called it a harley for the US market

Spade 150 by Kymko ( engine swap!?)
Just got my spade. Love it
My dealer wants 6k for a grom and same for a basic monkey 😢
Can you get Tommy on a mini moto?
No z125??
i wish i was a little guy so i could ride mini moto's, look like tons of fun
I'm 6ft 225lb. My Honda monkey is one if not the most comfortable bikes I've ever owned. Definitely the funnest.
@@robertyoung8289 like i said, comfy for little guys. congrats on your purchase, nice little bike.

@@patricksandeberg8184 Van Van is cool indeed, we don't get 'em here.
@@snupermoto723 Oh I thought that you did when I saw Ari Henning drive one on the Motorcyclist channel.
TLDR
Mini motos are gutless unless they're 190ccs or above.
🙏🙏 HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY EVERYONE ✌️

Relax. It’s a podcast. There’s an audience for this and TH-cam is a fraction of their clicks. If your attention span is lacking just say so.

these toys are a menus to the rest of road going riders
