Okay I loooove this. It's funny too that I am not like Miranda in the sense that I do like "indie and mysterious" artists as well as the fully pop, but the ones that I am attracted to are the ones who use similar lyric styles - simple, conversational, and saying whatever tf they want. There's power in that that I really appreciate.

Nice comments on this. I think the whole ingestion of synthwave helped things get a bit more 80s upbeat maybe? I will say I’m not a fan of “Espresso” tho. Better tracks on that record.

Asia has male pop stars, putting on big shows. Boy bands in Korea. HK has Jacky Cheung, Aaron Kwok, Andy Lau, popular for 20+ years and Hins Cheung etc. Personally I like New Jeans and Le Sserafim - kind of retro pop.
