Nice. One thing that would make the watch better IMO is if the glass was a bit recessed into the body. The way it is now, the glass is going to get scratched fast if you use it as a sports watch. But I like it. I'd choose the Casio for the reason that it's their original design and the price difference is not that big.
Gostei do produto e recomendo! Boa sorte! Abç!
I have been wearing the skmei since 3 years now. Its my daily beater so i swim hike run and everything with it. Still works very well. Never had any problems. I got the black one with the negative display and it even looks cooler. The display is lot better than the original. I own casios too btw.
I think skmei is revealing how Casio watches are a bit overpriced for what they are. I have a few skmei watches that are Casio homages and I've become a fan.
Once again the proof is in the pudding: Casio has much better legibility (a 21st century watch shouldn't have ghosting digits!), time accuracy and longer battery life. So the higher price is more than justified.
The contrast in low light conditions of this Casio module (3224) is better than some older G-Shock like GD-350. The background has much brighter reflection. And this module in Casio W-219H looks "iconic", I'd say, for a beater watch.
I have a Casio W218H and love it. I swapped the stock strap for a set of metal adapters from Jays and Kays so it would accept a (22mm wide band) and it looks and wears MUCH better than the stock band, id do the same with the SKMEI, my main reason for buying this SKMEI is I love the biggest digits possible and SKMEI watches almost always have larger digits than Casio - though it appears Casio has an edge on accuracy. I also have the larger size SKMEI 1134 and really (really) love that one, larger case & display, brighter backlight etc. great watch.
@@rsqm3 it depend on the machine/module itself, skmei only declared 3 yrs, its common for casio for declaring 10 yrs since their machine usually more energy efficient, i had QnQ brand (from Citizen) that only last less than 5 yrs (also other common watches)
Skmei is actually a decent digital watch maker. Their analog options however, rather poorly made. In terms of longevity, skmei are about on par with casio, but with a caveat, the battery seems drained much faster on skmeis. I would actually wear a skmei if I would go into a sketchy areas in my country, since its just over $5 in my country. Their bands are also interchangeable, that I usually buy skmeis for its bands, usually metal bands like the ones found in the ae 1200.
for cheap watches i always go for casio, better machine/module, better accuracy, energy efficient also, i had bunch cheap watches, also (cheap) QnQ brand from Citizen, it is battery usually only last less than 5 yrs, unlike Casio
I wanted to get the Skmei but sadly they didn't fix my main issue with the W218h and the F91: time-set mode is accesed by changing modes What a shame, it's a good looking watch.
@@skmeiwatchoriginalfactory9916 I wish that you had made the date and month reading just a bit larger size ,and with CR3032 battery that can last more than 5 years .

I paid 5 euros for the Skmei during an Aliexpress promotion. So for 4 times cheaper than the Casio, the Skmei is unbeatable for a work watch.
good price

copying is always easier way ... but Skmei has goof backlight and better price
The only downside with Skmei watches are the readability of their displays at off angles. Casio has the better display all the time.
If casio isn't made in China, I would never consider the SKMEI. I do not support the ccp as much as I can.
I want to buy SKMEI 1123. What color do you advice to buy. I want black but I'm afraid it will fade away
@@casualsuede great, ask casio to make their watches in switzerland so you can buy and support them.
Great review, thanks for posting. Was undecided, think I'll give the Skmei a go.

For the quality, price and battery life of basic casio watches, it's a no brainer to go for the casio. I'd go for Skmei for their G-Shock clones.
right
the battery on skmei prob last 10 yrs. more battery by a lot

Лучше доплатить и купить Casio

What a shame, it's a good looking watch.
I'm getting the SKMEI 1496 only because it has a metal buckle and when it fails I'll get the Casio and use the metal buckle from the SKMEI.
Nice video!
Thanks for the visit
very good and interesting video, Thanks a lot
Glad you liked it!
One of fav skmei watches.. Very good example of a knock off knocking off the original
this one is really good
@@GedmisLaguna sanda released the 2156 which is copy of copy! The dark blue looks interesting.. Will you be reviewing that?
friend, the light of this skmei is green equal to skmei 1251 correct? is that in your video the light appears a light blue
My phone camera somehow changes the true color, the backlight is more like green
well, looks almost identical, except the branding
thx for video gedmis.. can you review skmei 1776 watch? not many youtuber review that watch because it's just released
Just ordered one
Why does skmei has only 3 year battery life despite having the bigger battery?
I guess because Casio time module is more efficient and uses less power ...
Great review, thanks Gedmis.
Thanks for watching
great review! in indonesia skmei 1629 only 3 USD
very cheap :)
Bukan 3 dollar boss wkwkwkwk... tapi sekitar 5 dollar ..75.000 an
I still think the Casio W800H
is the best beater watch.
agreed, just more aggressive look
@Douglas Pantera sure, this one even better :)
Class skmei 😊
Нормальные kотлы.
И Касио, и Скмей. 😁 😉
alsmost the same watches. Anyway, Casio's original design
I recently bought the Skmei. So far it is a good watch. It has better light than the Casio. Do you think I can use it to swim? Thanks
I tiried many time swiming with 5 ATM Skmei, it's OK
But do not press any buttons under water. Thanks for your support to our skmei watch!

Skmei is pretty good at copying ...

Copying is always cheaper they do not have an design department just track and trace.

Hi Gedmis,
Could you please tell me if the Skmei 1471 watch stopwatch counts the hours at all? I am aware you are reviewing 1496 watch though.
Thanks
yes, the stop watch max duration is 24H
