There are FAR more PC gamers than all consoles combined. It's been proven you don't need a card stronger than a 3060 to match PS5 and XBOX settings. Most of the 4K modes in games ARE NOT running at a NATIVE 4K, 60. It's a dynamic 4K, 60 or upscaled. Plus, the PERFORMANCE MODES aren't 4K either. They are normally 1440p to 1800p. I can take a 3060, go into NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL turn on 33% upscaling from 1440p, turn in VSYNC there, turn on DSR FACTORS making even the NATIVE resolution using the A.I. tech. I can also use DLSS, DLAA, FSR 2, FSR3, on Intels XE, I then put the presets of the games to HIGH or MEDIUM in certain cases, DIGITAL FOUNDRY normally gets that part right, as to what the settings are, use a GSYNC MONITOR, then I hit play. 10 times out of you can get UPSCALED 4K, 60+. My 3070 and i9-12900hk I can EASILY get 4K, 60 to 90 at ULTRA SETTINGS, using all the A.I. Tech the 3070 uses. Don't you know if you use a monitor with GSYNC for NVIDIA or FREESYNC for AMD, you can DOUBLE the performance of the card? There is tech you're NOT taking advantage of to reach settings, performance and resolution that PCs can reach. No. I challenge you to this, when it comes to PC knowledge. I use a controller, I use my 4K, 120 HZ TV or my GSYNC monitor, with AAA games. I don't play the regular PC bullshit. I play PCVR, which certain games have some of the most beautiful worlds you can get into. Have you even tried PCVR? As much as I adore gaming but I prefer having it simple. Just buy a console for a fixed price and ready to press play. PC while cool, is overwhelming for me, very pricey and isn’t adjusted for all players.
Also Sony is putting their games on PC years later just for extra money not cause they were failing on consoles. They won’t go day one with major IPs cause that model harmed Xbox.

I have that exact build to run horizon at a high spec and i spent around $1,200+ and i went to go check how much itll cost to buy those parts now and its exactly how much i spent. We should not be paying $1,000+ just to play games.

Mine was a little more expensive because of the ram, I bought the 2x ddr4 32gb corsair white rgb before ddr5 was even announced. I bought 1 on discount and the other full price. I still got the original packaging as well just gotta find it to make sure about the price. I got my graphics card from a friend who sold it for $385 and he was gonna get $480 from someone else.

The Last of Us Remake ran worse pc than console, but I didn't buy it. I'm typically very picky when it comes to buying games and if I happen to buy one that doesn't run to my liking then I'll refund it. Regardless very very few games actually run worse on pc than console and typically when they run like shit on pc they run even worse on console.

heres the facts tho. I currently have several ways to use a high end PC from my cell phone and play AAA games without ever buying an actual PC. I own a high end PC but I'm not buying another one next year. There's no need. I can play a high end PC through the cloud and not spend 2000/ year in upgrades. PC gaming is the future. Consoles are dead. All platforms are going to the subscription model and cloud gaming in the next 10 years. The day you bought your PS5 brand new ithe tech in it was already old by pc standards. This is a cope. The 2080ti (equivalent to the 3070) runs every PS5 game at equal settings. Thrash knows nothing about: GPU scalability FSR internal res (the PS5 uses a lower internal res than. Its not running native) CPU architecture and its effect on performance. The dude thinks that the PS5 runs at high settings when time and time again it's shown to be running at medium settings when PS5 PC ports come out. While most pc gamers may not have a rig as beefy as a PS5 or Series X, the big difference is it could be if the owner wants it to be. That doesn't even necessarily mean they would have to upgrade their entire rig either. The only way to beef up your console performance is buy a mid gen refresh or wait for the next generation of consoles. Console dudes really should not be having pissing contests with pc gamers over performance, ever.

The reason publishers don't make loads of money on pc is because there is a much wider variety of games and pc gamers have much more varied tastes than the average console gamer who goes with the latest AAA hype and trendy games.

Supposedly, the reason for this was twofold: China has a “social credit” system in place for each citizen and gaming was socially “frowned upon” until they began to “ease up” relatively recently (meaning A LOT OF THE POPULAR CONSOLES like your PlayStations and your Nintendos weren’t WIDELY AVAILABLE for purchase/import over the past few decades, which is part of why the WHOLE “gray market” of those Chinese “knockoff consoles” sprung up). Combine that with a “social credit” system and an internet infrastructure that’s entirely overseen by the state, a lot of people that wanted to “scratch a gaming itch” turned to Internet cafes (which are widely-used and popular in Eastern parts of the world) where they could pay by the hour to get a generic computer login to go do whatever they wanted on it (within reason). That’s ALSO WHY MOBILE is so big over there because maybe not everyone had a PC or console for gaming purposes (especially when it was still socially “frowned upon”) but a phone COULD DO THESE THINGS and was STILL considered “socially acceptable.”

Yes it does, because a game having frame rate issues on pc can still go and stay above 60 fps whereas on console it's 60 or less. Performance issues on pc can be somewhat remedied by adjusting certain settings and or mods. Performance issues on console can only be fixed by the developers.
People will unironically try to tell you the GTX 1060 is faster than a PS5 because some guy did a video where he's testing DMC5, the thing is he's actually comparing the Special Edition to the Vanilla PC version and doesn't realise. For those who don't know it's basically a remaster, they even added ray tracing which the 1060 can't do.

Wrong, consoles hinder the natural evolution of gaming. They are based on old tech on custom APU in order to keep them affordable. PC pushes tech forward, consoles use said tech at a later date. Gaming would be much better if developers used the highest end pc specs as a baseline for developing games rather than approximate console specs.
And there is one thing PC dudes will not understand/admit. In order to maximize the players it can reach, a game that is made for PC will make it so it runs well on the lowest specs. You guys who has RTX4080 will always get dragged down by your PC brethren 1080. LMAO.

Built a PC during covid because I was bored off my ass. Haven't done shit with it because I refuse to waste my data cap on games or streaming anything. And I never bought a monitor because I just use my LG g3 77 oled for gaming in 4k

Mine was a little more expensive because of the ram, I bought the 2x ddr4 32gb corsair white rgb before ddr5 was even announced. I bought 1 on discount and the other full price. I still got the original packaging as well just gotta find it to make sure about the price. I got my graphics card from a friend who sold it for $385 and he was gonna get $480 from someone else.

That doesn't even necessarily mean they would have to upgrade their entire rig either. The only way to beef up your console performance is buy a mid gen refresh or wait for the next generation of consoles. Console dudes really should not be having pissing contests with pc gamers over performance, ever.

I think the more reasonable explanation is that core body of PC gamers is a relatively compact group. Also, surely a deeper discount is a contributing factor, so selling so many copies don't equate to high spending.

Supposedly, “mainstream gaming” as we know it has just started to crack through in China over the past several years (kinda like how Hollywood has been recently having Marvel movies and Star Wars movies localized for over there).
Supposedly, the reason for this was twofold: China has a “social credit” system in place for each citizen and gaming was socially “frowned upon” until they began to “ease up” relatively recently (meaning A LOT OF THE POPULAR CONSOLES like your PlayStations and your Nintendos weren’t WIDELY AVAILABLE for purchase/import over the past few decades, which is part of why the WHOLE “gray market” of those Chinese “knockoff consoles” sprung up).
Combine that with a “social credit” system and an internet infrastructure that’s entirely overseen by the state, a lot of people that wanted to “scratch a gaming itch” turned to Internet cafes (which are widely-used and popular in Eastern parts of the world) where they could pay by the hour to get a generic computer login to go do whatever they wanted on it (within reason).
That’s ALSO WHY MOBILE is so big over there because maybe not everyone had a PC or console for gaming purposes (especially when it was still socially “frowned upon”) but a phone COULD DO THESE THINGS and was STILL considered “socially acceptable.”

Yes it does, because a game having frame rate issues on pc can still go and stay above 60 fps whereas on console it's 60 or less. Performance issues on pc can be somewhat remedied by adjusting certain settings and or mods. Performance issues on console can only be fixed by the developers.

Wrong, consoles hinder the natural evolution of gaming. They are based on old tech on custom APU in order to keep them affordable. PC pushes tech forward, consoles use said tech at a later date. Gaming would be much better if developers used the highest end pc specs as a baseline for developing games rather than approximate console specs.
And there is one thing PC dudes will not understand/admit. In order to maximize the players it can reach, a game that is made for PC will make it so it runs well on the lowest specs. You guys who has RTX4080 will always get dragged down by your PC brethren 1080. LMAO.
