நமக்கு கொட்டாவி வரும் போது, வாயை பெரிதாக திறக்கிறோம், முக தசைகள் குறிப்பாக கண்களைச் சுற்றி இறுக்கமடைகின்றன. அந்த அழுத்தம் லாக்ரிமல் சுரப்பிகளை அழுத்துகிறது, இது ஏற்கனவே சேமித்து வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த கண்ணீர்த் துளிகளைக் கொட்டுகிறது.
