Why haven't you included the Ivt version of i20 which is similar to Baleno in engine specs and price? Why pick a 2lkh more model which obviously no one would compare against Baleno
@@SuyashKaul Hi Suyash. We have picked the i20 DCT and the Baleno AMT as we feel the Baleno’s AMT is good enough to at least be mentioned in the same breath as the i20 DCT. The IVT option, though more level on price, isn’t as well engineered as the DCT. Also, the point here is not to choose an outright winner, but rather find which car is better at what, so that one can choose according to their needs.
@@autoX it's not just about gearbox but the Ivt comes with exact same engine specs as well. A 1.2NA one with 4 cylinders which should've been perfect for a head on comparison. Here, a 3 cylinder turbo charged engine, is not only different in terms of refinement and torque but also, as you mentioned, fuel efficiency and obviously has a huge difference in price point 🥲
when u do such comparision do it with similar engine which will give more better understanding. turbo vs 1.2 whats the logic.. i see no logic. 1.2 Kappa vs 1.2 VVT would have been more doubt clearing
Those who are confused between these two, i would suggest you to go for a testdrive. I have driven both these cars and i really liked the baleno ags compared to the i20. We always have the manual mode which will help you to drive baleno in a spirited manner. And 20 plus km mileage is more than enough to go for it. Maintenance wise these dct transmissions in hyundai 1 ltr engines gonna trouble you in future for sure. Keep that in mind and go for baleno if you want a value for money car ✌️
Absolutely Correct. I am getting easily above 23-24 kmpl on the highways with AC On all the time. In city , above 20 everytime. Mine is New Baleno Alpha MT. Value for Money Car. Love to drive it everytime. Though I love new i20 also. In one thing Baleno is way ahead than i20 , that is "Mileage". 😊

The Baleno ticks all the basic boxes well, but if you could share your usage pattern in a bit more detailed fashion and the limits of your budget, then we will be able to help you out better.
Great video guys, finally someone said this that the AMT with the NA engine is also good enough for the most parts when you don't want to dig a big hole in the bank account. And Hyundai's turbo petrol engines are rather close to Suzuki's NA, unlike the case with VW's TSIs. Even in terms of safety, the baleno will atleast score a similar rating as the i20, if not better.
The Jazz hasn’t been significantly updated in a long time, therefore we decided not to bring it in for this comparison. The Baleno and the i20 are the strongest contenders here, apart from the Altroz DCT which we wanted but a media unit was not available at the time.
@@kidspec0614 The AMT feels more realistic to drive as you go through the motions of changing gears (even if its happening on its own). In a CVT, you lose that sensation and it feels more like a video game experience, as the engine remains at a set speed and the gear ratio changes.
Baleno rocks....do not go with the looks...I also was aiming for i20 only because of few facts like Looks, Features and Safety but now Baleno is much much better than i20 due to Milage, Driving, Comfort journey for rare seats passengers, Maintainance, Resale value, Price, Spare parts availability Now looks and Safety also much much improved than before....Cheers Baleno, Cheers to Maruti 👍👍👍

I20 is great but Maruti is better if your planning to keep your car for long term, As I20 spare parts are also expensive.
New baleno has better sheet metal than the i20. Use the finger press method and see the amount of flex in the steel of i20 and do the same on the very same part's of the baleno..you will have your ans. If I have to go solo in places where I normally go...I'll definitely go in for the baleno...more reliable and refined engine. Plus engine has a guard below(even though it's fibre). I20 doesn't have engine guard ...and dct gearbox in our conditions will be exposed to climate, dirt and dust....so be careful. If it's just city and close hill stations go for i20..if it's long distance and reliability go for baleno alpha . You will be more at peace. Rest is up to you. .

Just finished a test drive of i20 auto like 30 mins back and could confirm, the video is biased. The engine did cry hard for power to push it to speed. Design wise other than sunroof, I didn’t find any better feature in i20 which baleno was missing out.

Plus sunroof is not really a feature...I look at it as extra maintenance and roof structural strength weakened . Even the fortuner for a good reason doesn't come with the sunroof.
