Knuckles can't fly in the games, but he can glide. I don't know why he's never shown doing it in this tv show.
Probably because he's more like, stereotyped as the heavy character and having him gliding in the air when he looks so heavy and big would be weird
Well that changes in the Netflix series Sonic Prime, where he is shown to be able to glide.
