Thank you so much for your review!! I’ve already chosen and purchased this for my twins going into 9th grade next year, but there’s little info about it. I’ve seen maybe a couple flip throughs and such, but yours was more in depth of why you liked it and things like that. It’s solidified that I think we chose well for next year! They also offer a military discount for those families (we got it) and it was very easy and appreciative!
Was there additional content in the video not in the textbook? My son is good with reading comprehension so I wonder if it's needed. Are the videos really necessary or more for students who need extra help? Can't find any good description of what videos add to curriculum. Thanks!
That's a great question that I'm not sure I can answer. Have you watched the sample videos they offer? I believe it is just a visual way of explaining things but the dissection videos are definitely extra. The company is very responsive so I would send them an email and ask.
I no longer have this curriculum on my high school list. I reach out to the publisher and ask for a basic clarification (as fellow homeschool parents were discussing their secular version as not secular) I decided to ask them, well I had a poor short response from the publisher (I’m not sure of your definitions. You all decide.) I re ask my question because I needed a solid respond, they saw my message but decided not to reply. I felt very disappointed because I had recommended their curriculum to fellow homeschoolers (I'm not an affiliated, or anything like that) and to have this response is absolutely not acceptable.
I see that this video is 2 years old. I’m wondering if this curriculum would be good for a student with learning challenges. My daughter has AHDH and dyslexia so doesn’t like to sit for long periods of time and is maybe a 7th grade reading level. She’s going into 9th grade this fall. Thanks!
I think it would work because you could pause it and take a break and then come back. Try reaching out to the creator of the curriculum; he is very helpful and could answer questions for you.
Great review! I’ve been considering this for my son for either January or next year- right now we are struggling through Novare Intro Physics and not sure we will make it, lol. You mentioned video dissections- is there also info to do the actual dissections? I think my son would enjoy actually doing them.
Very useful video. Do you feel that it was a fairly easy course or would it be described as rigorous? This is the best review I’ve seen of this curriculum. Thanks!
That's hard to say as it's the first high school biology course my children have taken. I would have a look at what they cover and see if what you are looking for is going to be covered in depth.
Thanks for this video.
What a beautiful teacher both inside & outside.
I wish i had you as my Biology teacher back in the day.
Aw, thanks!

That's too bad- what question were you asking them?

My name is also Christina! I’m wondering how much time it took per day.
Hello fellow Christina! My son did this independently so I’m not sure how long he took each day.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think so as they were things like a cows heart if I remember correctly.
Do you know if they have friendly chemistry? Thank you
Yes, they do!
@@OneMamaToAnother thank you
Very helpful review!!
Awesome!
Are there hands-on labs? Is there a labs kit or a list of materials needed to complete labs?
Yes, there is. You can find the list and details here: friendlybiology.com/labs.html
