I purchased this recently at a homeschooling consignment sale, neither of my kiddos are science minded, so this seemed perfect for them. Just a basic chemistry unit, I will probably also add GH Science in the Kitchen so there is some literature as well. Thanks for sharing!
Definitely would fit the bill for that. Though, adding GH could be a lot :) I'm currently planning out GH Chemistry and I'm hoping I'm not getting in over my head for myself or my daughter :) I really don't remember anything about chemistry from high school (I don't remember any science I took except maybe biology?), so I'm hoping I can keep up!
@@CalmintheChaosHomeschool I was thinking the same exact thing. I don't even know IF I took Chemistry. LOL I think its a requirement though, so I guess I just blanked it all out. I got confused in my comment before, I did get Friendly Biology, but I meant to say if we like it we are going to use the Chemistry for 10th or 11th grade and mesh that with GH Chem in the Kitchen.
@@PlannerHomeschoolingMom I totally missed the chemistry and biology thing and how they are not the same! 😂 my brain is mush from all the back to school homeschooling planning right now!
I used this in the early 2000s but I think it’s changed since then!!! I loved it!!! I remember it being gentle!!! My high schoolers loved the guest hollow’s biology!!! I remember it being a Christian curriculum but I can’t remember the lab reports!!! The videos looked awesome!!! I remember using a microscope for this course!!! I only buy Christian Science curriculums!!!
I no longer have this curriculum on my wish list or as an option. I contacted the publisher for clarification on their secular edition, which several fellow homeschool parents were considering as not secular. I contacted them, and their response was awful (I’m not sure of your definitions. You all decide.) I ask again because this is not a solid response. They noticed my message and chose not to respond. And to think that I had suggested their secular and Christian curricula to other homeschoolers (I'm not affiliated or anything). I was devastated because it felt like our questions didn't matter. I don’t recommend this curriculum.
Thank you for sharing. It sounds like they really need to work on customer service :( I think the questions you were asking are so important to so many families. I’m honestly under the impression that their “secular” to them is meaning just no mention of God. I think the information in both versions are exactly the same but with God taken out. So I would probably say “neutral” more than secular, but they should be able to answer some simple questions about that.
Have you ever used any of the Friendly sciences? If so, what did you think?
This looks great. I love how they have recorded lessons
Yes! I always like a visual video element!

We used their Friendly Drivers Course and it was a good fit for my son. I'll probably use it for my girls as well. 🌻
Thanks for sharing! I should look into that.
I'm gonna watch this as soon as I'm done w the kitchen. I have this as an option for hs. You know i plan ahead. Ty girl🎉❤
It’s fun to be looking forward ;) Gotta know the options!

Oh... that's really cool! I didn't know they have been around so long!
I am trying to decide if we should continue with Masterbooks Biology or change to this one. Thanks for the video!
Always so hard to know what to do!
Is the Secular version actually Secular or is it Neutral? Thanks this looks great!!
I’m going to say that the content is all the same minus mentioning God. That’s all I really know.
It is neutral.
