Another great video like yourself I love ultra light fishing for perch had loads so far fishing my local river ely using jig heads no heavier than 2.5g
They work for pike for sure but there needs to be lots of vegetation, this time of year the weeds are dying off so it’s more difficult to get the bite on top water🎣
As long as the angler is not targeting the trout, it’s a bycatch. Out of season trout Should be unhooked in the water and not taken out for photos if caught as they are getting ready to spawn atm. ☺️ If seen casting rapalas in a river targeting perch, an IFI officer would be well within the rights to assume the worst. 😅 so I wouldn’t chance fishing that area personally. What you asked is a grey area in fishing, i personally would just fish a different area, not worth the hassle 😎

Senan have you ever tried a top water lure ?? Because I have seen frog lures that sit on top of the water put never really tried them
