    Lyrics
    Lost, here is nowhere
    Searching home still
Turning past me, all are gone
    Time is now
The omen showed, took me away
Preparations are done, this can't last
    The mere reflection brought disgust
No ordeal to conquer, this firm slit
It sheds upon the floor, dripping into a pool
Grant me sleep, take me under
Like the wings of a dove, folding around
I fade into this tender care

Jinjer is helping grow Opeth's fan base with many of these youner metalheads. New metal fans that heard Jinjer for the 1st time and fell in love with Jinjer's music have read from Jinjer's interviews with the band Jinjer crediting Opeth as their biggest influence and vocalist Tatiana Shmaylyuk saying that Mikael Akerfeldt is the best metal vocalist that combines growls and clean vocals. Hell many if not most of these Jinjer fans when they finally listen to Opeth get completely blown away and actually become bigger fans of Opeth then Jinjer. Opeth is the most underrated metal band in the history of metal.

I was super late with Opeth but I’m here now and they are awesome. I was watching Gojira’s “Deliverance” and someone commented Opeth’s “Deliverance” is way better. That was all it took. No offense to Gojira but haven’t listened to them much since. Wow! What a journey Opeth is. Have a good one.

Jinjer is one of the few "new" bands (as an oldhead) that I enjoy. Obviously Im a MASSIVE Opeth fan so I hear influences in their music but they aren't copying and are fresh with it.

The clean guitar at the end of this song always makes the hair stand up. It's almost like the end and one has died and is at a their funeral. Amazing song and very emotional. Opeth is just brilliant!

Yeah, this is the most darkest song by Opeth... i love how they created dark atmosphere with beautiful harmony... Old Opeth is gold.

Probably one of the, if not the most underrated Opeth song! It builds up such a melancholic and depressing atmosphere. But please, I'm begging you to react to Black Rose Immortal by Opeth! You will be astonished

    • @midnight-2021
      @midnight-2021 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Opeth themselves talentwise is arguably the most underrated metal band or atleast the most underrated metal band post 1980s. IMO the most underrated metal band of all time for influencing metal genres like Thrash and death metal was Motorhead. Listening to Lemmy's vocal sound sounds like the early stages of growls and grunts that we hear in death metal or someone's idea to take Lemmy's vocal sound and get it slightly deeper in sound hence death metal growls and grunts.

The masters of dynamics. Re the vocals Travis...been lucky enough to see Opeth live a number of times and around the time of this release Mike's growls were literally like a frickin' lion roaring onstage. Unbelievable.

Hi guys! Wow, there is a high quality of song suggestions that you have played and reacted to by Opeth so far. You simply have followers with good taste! It's always interesting to see how you react to their songs and it makes me fall in love again. :) I have seen them a few times (around 10 times) in Stockholm. Opeth is in my opinion the best in small and intimate premises.
An underrated song that I would appreciate you reacting to is "Hours of Wealth". You’ll see why it’s special :)
    Keep going! /Michel from Sweden.

+1 on Opeth being at their best in smaller venues. I still remember seeing them in a club in Helsinki approximately 15 years ago. The venue was very dark with blue lighting on the stage throughout the set, and I remember just being hypnotized by the performance from beginning to the end. That gig is still, and will probably forever be one of the best ones I've ever seen from any band.

Anyone ever hear of Lucifer's Friend? Listen to their album "where the groupies killed the blues" from 1972. I can hear why Mikael Akerfeldt lists them as a major influence to their prog side of Opeth's music.

Alot of the extreme metal genres down tune the guitar giving it a darker and heavier tone quality. These growls, grunts, fry screaming common in the extreme metal genres sounds like down tuning the common screams from the hardcore late 1970s Punk or the type of vocals that Lemmy was doing in Motorhead with his mix of heavy rock and Punk with these down tuning fry screaming, growls, grunts matching and mixing perfectly with the down tuning of the guitars. Just my opinion and will probably have many people disagree or strongly disagree and that is OK.
