    We just bought a 2018. This video was so amazing to understand the car! Thank you. We just can’t wrap our heads around the paddles on the steering wheel how to use them.

      Anytime. I'm glad you found it useful. The paddle shifters are to control the regeneration. Did I miss that in the video?

    Great in-depth review!
    One note: at 30:20 you mention that there's no sacrifice in the PHEV vs the regular Outlander. You do give up the third row option. For many people, this isn't much of a sacrifice since the third row is meant for kids. Just depends on your needs and lifestyle.

      You're right. I should've mentioned it. Thanks for pointing it out.

    I have the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander GT that runs on gas and I could say that this is one of the best cars I have owned to date. I have taken at all over the place and it runs great and smooth. I highly recommend this vehicle to anyone that is looking for something that is highly reliable and fun to drive

      Does it have a reliable CVT transmission?! Because this type of transmission can break down very easy if it's a belt driven. Only Toyota produced a type of CVT transmission which doesn't have a belt inside and it is very reliable. Anyway I like this Mitsubishi, and I think it has one of the best hybrid technology to date.

    • @HighOnCars1
      @HighOnCars1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't have a CVT transmission. It has a single speed transmission as per the Mitsubishi website.

    How is the consumption long range? I have a 2016 XC60 D5 today and im thinking about switching to an Outlander PHEV. I dont need to drive 100% electric. I just want to keep the gas consumption as low as possible on longer trips. Im usually driving about 100km every day and even more on the weekends..

    • @HighOnCars1
      @HighOnCars1  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't have the vehicle anymore but from what I remember, it went down to 6.5L/100 km on long trips.

    I just purchased a new 2019 leftover stock that came with a huge discount.. What surprised me the most is that even to this day there is no real competition on the road. The RAV4 Prime has been delayed due to the virus and all the 2021 models are sold out (here in Quebec province) so you would have to wait at least 2 years to take delivery. The Escape PHEV is unfortunately not AWD which is the top reason for choosing the Outlander. The other options are much more expensive..

      I'm considering purchasing a 2018 Outlander PHEV, but I'm concerned about its power. I'm wondering if the engines generate enough power for a smooth and enjoyable ride on highways or steep streets in San Francisco, because it's a heavy vehicle.

    • @HighOnCars1
      @HighOnCars1  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not powerful at all but gets the job done. The usual planned passing on the highway is OK but no sudden passing. It just doesn't have the power for it. You'll get an idea during your test drive.

    I have the 2016 non-hybrid GT
    (3.0 L V6) & I personally haven't needed the 3rd row so losing that wouldn't bother me but the hybrid does have smaller gas tank that reviewers say limits total range to 300+ miles which is range I have currently in non-hybrid albeit I'm burning a great deal more gas. I can tow 3500# while hybrid is much less (1500# I think) but respectable compared to other hybrids. I heard Mitsubishi is supposed to increase the hybrids gas engine to 2.4 L & rear electric motor to 80 hp (currently 60 hp).
    Waiting to see how that is rated then might trade my non-hybrid GT
    for the hybrid-GT. Also that can of fix-O-flat is indicative of no spare tire. My non-hybrid GT has a full sized spare underneath albeit a plain black rim. Nice video!
    Also just an fyi... they rate my non-hybrid GT @ 23mpg all around. I typically get 25-26 mpg all around on full tank with an all time high of 28.5 mpg. I've seen individual trips of 30-32 mpg going to work.

    • @HighOnCars1
      @HighOnCars1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you. I'm glad you find it helpful. They already have the 2.4L 4 cylinder engine and the more powerful electric motors in Europe. It's just a matter of time till it makes it to North America. It will totally be worth waiting for.
      It does have a smaller 11.3 gallon tank but I consistently get between 500 and 600 miles to the tank which is substantially higher than the non hybrid but then again the fuel economy is dependant on the driving habits and conditions.

    Hi, I've got the 2017 5HS and I heard you say that you left the charging port open because when the engine is on it locks up as a safety measure so does that mean when your driving the car the car automatically lock the doors? If there is a feature for this can you tell me how to do it? Thank you in advance.

    • @HighOnCars1
      @HighOnCars1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I sold the Outlander PHEV over a year and a half ago so I can't say for sure but I believe it did have that feature. Yours is a 2017 so I don't know if that year had it or not.

  • @Sachidananda74

    Mitsubishi FMC does not give warning when the front car is moving in slow and your car is approaching in high speed.Mitsubishi has to update its software to adopt a relative velocity and distance fine tune for FMC warning. I am disappointed when compare to other company such feature. I am a Outlander PHEV GT 2018 owner.

      Thank you I found the video, bottom line , would you still purchase the Outlander if you hadn't . I am going to drive a 2019 and 2020. pricing in the USA is good also we receive $5800 tax credit . I am also looking at a V60 Volvo, however that car will be 12K more , different type of car sedan and fast. I will use to only 15 mins most days so was thinking could drive using no gas . Unless a long trip . thanks again for the information .

    • @HighOnCars1

      No I wouldn't because now there are options like the Ford Escape and Toyota RAV4 PHEV. The Escape PHEV has a nicer interior and the RAV4 has better technology, longer range and is much more powerful at around 302hp.

    is there any way to turn off the artificial noise generation the vehicle makes. I assume its so people can hear the car coming but if you have an electric car it should be quiet. I'm hoping there is just a fuse I could unplug.

    What is mileage and I don’t need a 3 rd sets. How much is this used car ? Please reply

    • @HighOnCars1
      @HighOnCars1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both questions are subjective. Mileage will depend on how frequently you charge plus the driving habits and conditions and the used car price depends on the condition and mileage of the car.
      That being said, if you charge every night, you should average 7.5L/100km city and highway combined driving.
      Depending on your location, please check your local used car portal for the used car pricing.

    • @johngallant1083
      @johngallant1083 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mileage depends on how you drive. If you are in town a lot and use mostly electric the gas usage will be 2 l/100 km or less. if you on the highway it will be more because the gas engine will come on more often. Don't forget to factor in the cost of electricity. In my area its costing about $2.00 per 100km.

    • @steveoiwa7759
      @steveoiwa7759 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What is the total mileage or range I could drive ( combine mileage )

    • @HighOnCars1
      @HighOnCars1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The least I got is 600 km before filling up the tank and charging every night and the most I got was 1100 kms charging any chance I got even when out.
