I've seen Ian many times live. A totally entertaining performer and one of the most Brilliant Singer Songwriters in THE WORLD!! Fantastic talent!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
When I was in my 20's and my life was falling apart at the seams, I heard this song while driving home to my parent's cottage. The emotional impact made me sob my eyeballs out, wanting so much to be home again. When I saw Ian in concert I told him the story and he didn't even flinch to tell me his son had a similar experience when his life was also in flux. He heard Coming Home on the radio and said to himself, "hey that's my dad!" I thought that was so cool, and it made me laugh at the same time. You'll not meet a more decent or humble man than Ian Thomas. Lunch At Allen's is the group he was with in 2012 when I saw him, and it was surprisingly good with Ian. Marc Jordan, Murray McLaughlin and Cindy Church. It was a very rich and introspective performance by the group.
I can remember hearing his hits as i was growing up in the 70's and 80's....I love this guy and he still inspires me to write as much as he loves to perform.
Grew up on SCTV and for whatever reason (I now realize there are many), Ian Thomas has remained a huge inspiration since I first heard 'Hold On' when I was like, 7, I think. Always a fan and I can hear his music in my sleep! Thanks Ian...
i just saw ian thomas at rock the lake in kelowna on friday. i listened to his music in the seventies.i am a musician and never had a chance to see him before because i am usually working on the weekend. it was wonderful, best thing i have seen in years.
IAN THOMAS = ENTERTAINMENT ROYALTY (along w/brother Dave Thomas & Rick Moranis; a.k.a.: The McKenzie Brothers). He's been subjected 2 so much FBS yet he's persevered w/CLASS, DIGNITY, & RESPECT!!!!!
@@seanmontani470Thanks; Ian Thomas was my childhood idol (along w/his brother Dave) & after what happened 2 his son Jake (a.k.a.: Dave's nephew), Ian's support's definitely needed more now than ever.
Often times these old stars talk far to much thinking they are comedians.Just sing the song.I noticed this about many of them. People love your music ''Play it''
Gvn that Ian's brother Dave's a comedian (a.k.a. Doug McKenzie); give Ian Thomas some slack, buddy. Ironically; Ian's comedic talent was highlighted on the Red Green Show (he was Dougie Franklin; a.k.a.: "Meals On 4 Wheels"). B4 that; Ian Thomas had a very illustrious music career. Nvrthlss; he (along w/his brother Dave & Rick Moranis) r ENTERTAINMENT ROYALTY!!!!! PLEASE SHOW SOME RESPECT HERE!!!!!

I would like to send money directly to help them out
Completely agreed; especially after what happened 2 his son Jake.
How do I contact Ian's children to donate money for Jake?
Go to ianthomas.ca and there's a Contact link.
