Hi, I'm sorry I'm getting to your comment just now. The way this beanie is constructed is by starting with a few rounds of double crochets until you get to the point where you no longer need to make increases, and from that point, the lace pattern starts. You can do the same with an adult size hat. Continue adding more rounds of double crochet until you reach the point where you no longer need to increase the circumference of the hat, and from that point start the lacy pattern. I hope this helps!
Love this little hat. Making several for the baby center in town. The pattern is simple enough and your video is great. Thanks to TH-cam options, I can slow the video down to meet my speed. Thanks a million times!
Really? I have that angel on my desk in almost every tutorial! Unfortunately, a couple of years ago I accidentally dropped him and he lost his wing. But he's still my little lucky angel! 👼🏻
Hi Millie, how wonderful, congratulations! You are very welcome! It actually makes me feel special that you want to use my pattern to make a hat for your grandbaby!

Beautiful pattern and very easy to follow instructions. Lately I have been so frustrated by complicated pattern writing. But this is very nicely done video. It's a quick project too. Thank you so much !!!
This is gorgeous, thank you for sharing it! My granddaughter is due late May and I have been searching for a hat that will be appropriate for that time of year. I have found it! I just finished it and it's gorgeous! I really can't thank you enough. 🥰
this is my third successful item to crochet. i am new to this, but used to watch my mom when i was young. this tutorial was easy to follow and so much fun. it was nice to have something different than a basic beanie, but still easy to follow
Hi Sarah, I'm really glad to hear that your third project was my beanie baby hat! My mom did a lot of crochet too, and I learned from her. Thank you so much for your comment, it really made my day! 🤗♥️
Hi Olga. Lovely newborn pattern. Worked up beautifully with Lion Brand IceCream, Parfait. Each of your tutorials is so detailed and helpful. Cannot begin to Thank you enough for each of your creative projects. !
Thank you for such sweet comment! It makes me happy knowing that my patterns and tutorials are useful to other crocheters! And it's a great motivation to keep creating!
Making this hat right now and it is beautiful! Thank you for sharing! Wish there was a written pattern for kids/adults since I’m still pretty née to crochet. I follow videos+written but have no idea how to personalize to my size if it’s something like this!
Hi Olga thank you for doing this hat, l was looking for a baby hat pattern and here you are, it's so gorgeous, will make some today to go with matinee coats l made for a. Charity here in Ireland xxx
I crocheted right along with you. A bit of a challenge for me, but I finished:) Used Lion Brand Ice Cream (colorway Tutti Fruitti). Used an "H" hook, so it came out a bit larger. So pretty! This will go with a blanket I made previously for a gift. Thank you!
Oh, I'm so glad to hear you finished it even though it was a bit challenging! Great job! And how nice that the hat can go with the blanket you made! Thank you for your comment Margaret! ♥️
Hi Olga. Just finished this beautiful hat. I'm only crocheting over a year or so.. I found your instructions very clear. Thank you so much for sharing this very pretty baby hat. Helen (Ireland)
What a beautiful project, like everything you do. I would like to ask you a favor if you could do the tutorial of the simple crochet hooded scarf is so cute!!
I wish show more how to start the next cluster. Because I’m a beginner and I don’t know how you started the next cluster. Can you please show us how you started the next cluster please. Thank you🙏
Clusters are just double crochets finished together. You make three unfinished double crochets, and keep them all on the hook, then you do yarn over and you finish them all together.
Hi this hat is beautiful and I'm going to give it a try . I was just looking at new channels and saw this one and I'm a new subscriber and cant wait to see what else you make. Hugs Maria

I’m half way through this pattern & loving it very easy to follow your instructions & it’s quick to make such a bonus 🙏 thank you so much. If your looking for something more to demonstrate I would appreciate it if you could do a tutorial on a beanie with ear flaps and maybe with braids attached like in despicable me cartoon I’d love to create something similar to that if you can without it being exactly the same if there is a copyright problem but I do see people doing the minion hats so it might be ok 😁💖 thank you as you do an awesome job 💕
Hi Debra, I'm so happy to hear this pattern/tutorial worked out well for you! That's a great idea for a beanie with ear flaps or braids. I''ll add it to my to my crochet to do ideas list! Thank you so much for your comment!
So cute baby hat , What if i want to make a big size hat for 2 yrs up above . do you have apattern for the big hat , i love your work & Very easy to learn & you explained Very clear . Thanks for sharing Olga , . I always following your project .. ♥️😘🥰😍😘❤️
To make the hat bigger, you will need to add additional rounds of double crochets until you get to the point where you no longer need to increase the circumference of the hat. From that point start the lacy pattern. This could be a bit tricky to implement. Unfortunately no, I don't have a written pattern for a bigger size.
Hi Ann, yes, here is how you can make it larger. Before starting the lacy part of the pattern, add more rounds of double crochets with increases. Then start the lacy part. Just keep in mind that the multiple for the lacy part is 6, so you will need to make the increases accordingly. I hope this helps!
hi, this is lovely, but could you please go a bit slower? i live in the U K , & use U K terminology, so it it hard keeping up with you, & changing stitches in my head, ( single US ---- double UK ) may be mention what the conversion is. thank you very much.
Hi Patricia, yes, I'll try to go slower. Also, youtube has an option of watching videos at slower pace, you can choose in setting how slowly (or how fast) you want the video to play. And I totally understand the additional challenges of mentally converting the stitch terminology. Thank you so much for your comment and feedback.
Hello, Olga...can this be made into an adult hat? If so, how do I enlarge it? This is an adorable hat!❤❤❤

Beautiful hat!!! Thank you for sharing. How can i make this hat for a 1 year old girl?
Hi! The pattern would have to be increased by 1-2 repeats. Unfortunately I can't tell off the top of my head what the stitch counts would be.
Ok thank you
I want to make this in an adult size. Would I just need to keep increasing to get the size I need? I am terrible at trying to alter patterns lol

Is there a stitch count for row 8. ? I Did a count, row4 has 48 and row 8 has 48. Yah!
Thank you this helped me out a lot!
Awesome video :)))
What should the hat be measuring in length for a new born please?
About 5 inches
Olga, is there any way I could make this for a 2 yr old?
Hi Ann, yes, here is how you can make it larger. Before starting the lacy part of the pattern, add more rounds of double crochets with increases. Then start the lacy part. Just keep in mind that the multiple for the lacy part is 6, so you will need to make the increases accordingly. I hope this helps!

Did you use a size 3 or 4 ply yarn? Thankyou Olga
I used US category 3 yarn, which I believe is 8 ply in UK and Australia.
Can this pattern be made for an adult? Do I just need to add stiches?
Yes, but the pattern would have to be completely reworked and recalculated to make the crown of the hat larger.
@@OlgaPoltava do I jsut add stitches - say in intervals of 3 or 4, I made the baby hat an love it and want to make her mom the same hat to match.
