I tried to make this, but after round 12, the hat looks pretty small. I don’t think I have the tension too tight, and I’m using a weight 4 yarn. I’m not sure why it looks so small, and how I can mark this bigger. Can you tell me what’s the circumference of the hat after you were done making it? Thank you!
I just started learning how to crochet about 3 weeks ago, I made a blanket for my son & a baby blanket for my newest niece, I wanted to make a baby hat and your tutorial was amazing! I made one yesterday as my trial and it turned out pretty good! So today I made another but this one a little bigger and it is the cutest hat! Thank you for the in depth videos! They are perfect! My granddaughter is going to love it!❤️
I know you posted this video in 2018, but I just started crocheting again after retiring. I am also a great-grandmother now with time to make gifts for my granddaughter! This is one of the best instructions with patterns and tips. Thank you!
I’m so happy I found your tutorial videos. Thank you so much for explaining everything clearly. If I make this using mandala or a baby yarn, should I use smaller needles?
Stick with what the pattern calls for if you change the yarn or hook - your hat will be much smaller. Unfortunately this pattern is not easy to adjust for sizing. If you want to go smaller you could go onto my site www.prettydarnadorable.com I do have larger sizes there you could make a larger size but I'm not sure what the final measurements would be.
I made this hat in two different sizes and the turned out beautiful, really pleased downloaded the patterns for future makes. Thank you so much,They are pretty darn adorable.
love this pattern! My first project and it turned out so pretty, just must've used the wrong size yarn because it looks like it would fit a toddler! will try again now that I have the hang of it!
Thank you!! I’m actually just updating the blog post and including a rose pattern as well. I’ll post the link under the video when it’s done. I’m so happy to hear that you’ve been enjoying it.
That is so adorable! I thought it would be to difficult for me since I'm a beginner but I watch the whole thing then realized, hey, I can do this. I especially like how you show us how to hold the yarn. Thank you 😍
Thank You for your Tutorial. I finally understand how to do the beginning. It took a few try’s. It was better when you brought the camera in closer. ❤️
I really appreciate you for all of the extras! This makes it easy to follow the pattern at your own pace. Having the written pattern is awesome! I will share with other crochet friends. Very successful video!
I love this little hat. Could you please tell me how I could make this for a toddler? I tried starting with more sc but as I increase, it comes out really wavy. Any help you could give would be appreciated. Thank you!
Can you please tell me how many ply yarn you used for this hat. I used 8ply but my hat ended up much smaller than the specified size in your written pattern. Thank you.
This is an adorable hat and very easy. I’ve made several of them. I’m wondering though, what adjustments are needed to make a bigger hat? Based on the yarn and hook size, the hat seems on the smallish side. (I’m only 2 years into teaching myself to crochet but I’m making sure I’m not crocheting too tight). Thank you for a great tutorial!
I am new at making beanies, First this week I made 2 toddler beanies with ear flaps. Now I'm wanting to make beanies w/scallops. This was the most pleasant easy to listen to and easy to follow tutorial. Thanks so much. And yes I did subscribe.
Great question! I use something called alligator clips. You can buy them on Amazon or at Micheals this way you can easily remove the bow for cleaning :). So glad you enjoyed making the hat!
I have watched a lot of your videos and they are amazing, I can follow any of your tutorials no problem. Love this wee hat it's very cute, thank you for sharing all your videos. X
I have crocheted many hats but never did they come out so nice. I watched the video than used the written pattern. This was very helpful. Thank you for video, I an checking out your Etsy shop and see other projects I am very interested in. will be purchasing these. Thanks.
Hi, thanks you so much for the step by step teaching. I have a question, if we want to make it for 1.5 year old, what changes should we make and at what step?
This is a great pattern, very easy to follow along. but I'm a little confused about the beginning part. You say to do your slipknot leaving about 10"-12" tail...just curious as to why? There's no pom pom or anything, it just gets snipped off. Was it originally being saved for something? Timestamp @1:40
I’m a complete beginner and due in August, and this would be super cute. Im working on a baby blanket now, but will try to do this next. It looked hard but your instructions are so easy to follow. Thank you so much
Hi there, the full pattern is available here and includes newborn sizing :)www.etsy.com/ca/listing/164548756/crochet-pattern-sweet-scalloped-beanie?ref=shop_home_active_50&crt=1
I really like the way you do your videos how you go step-by-step I like that a lot I'm a little bit of a intermediate I've been crocheting for about 8 years now come a little bit faster than beginner so I just speed it up but I really like your videos also can you do a video where you make little booties for babies
Love, love, love this. Fantastic tutorial and written instructions. You're very easy to follow. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time. It's very much appreciated. 🌺🌺🌺
I’m not a beginner so It was easy for me. However. I think you do an amazing job explaining and showing carefully what you do. As I learned how to crochet from TH-cam, this is just a perfect video. Well done
Would like to know if you have any Hat Patterns for Preemie babies, for Both Girls and Boys? I can find for girls but really hard to find nice ones for little baby boys! I just found you cause I liked the picture of this hat....you were so easy to follow and in a few hours I managed to make 4 of this hats!!!! They turned out great, they are all being donated to my local hospital...that is why I would like some Preemie patterns. Thank you
HI Mary - the easiest way to make a pattern smaller is just by doing one less increase round. When working with WW i find it is usually a difference of .75 - 1.25 of an inch. Then just work to the desired length. I hope this helps ;)
You could go up to a K but that would only equal about an inch bigger. Which yarn are you using? So many of the WW make up small that could be a contributor as well. Also gauge.
Hi Sheila - I made the. bow and used and Alligator clip to attach to the hat. In retrospect I would probably stitch in on. I can't image the clip was very comfortable for this wee baby.
Loved this tutorial.. made my first baby beanie and it is adorable. Loved your helpful tip for finding mistakes in the row. Also loved how easy the scalloped edge was. Would love to know how to keep the circle from getting rippled. I tried restarting and making sure to loosen the tension but it only helped slightly.
Hi Vanna, excellent video and pattern. Would very much appreciate knowing how to make a hat for 3-6 mos and 6-9 mos, etc. and is just regular 4 ply yarn ok to use? I’ve made a baby blanket, and want my hats to match! Awaiting your reply. Thanks
This is a tricky one - the increase rounds are calculated a bit differently than a regular sc stitch hat. Depending where you are you could also try a bulky yarn and a 6.5mm hook. I also have the pattern here which includes sizes here: www.etsy.com/ca/listing/164548756/crochet-pattern-sweet-scalloped-beanie
This is a terrific pattern, I just bought the same exact yarn & found your pattern! Vannas pink is a beautiful shade! Thanks so much for the great tutorial😁👍👍
Thank u so much, this is adorable.I am looking forward to making this hat. How wud this be done in different sizes. I am going to start making blankets ( no holes allowed in them )and hats for preemie babies, any help wud be grayeful. I am enjoying your videos x
Thanks Lynn :) You can purchase the crochet pattern it has written instructions for 6 sizes! It is also 50% off for a short time. The links are in the description for Ravelry and Etsy :) XO
Love love love this pattern! I would love to know where to get the cute crotchet hook you are using? I haven’t seen anything like that before. I am a beginner and my hands get tired from arthritis, maybe that kind of grip would help? Thank you in advance
Thanks Theresa - I actually make the hooks myself. I would say though that this was kind of heavy ask it is covered in clay. I ordered wooden hooks (sadly the Etsy store has closed) and I find those to be very light and comfortable.
Wonderful tutorial! Very enjoyable and easy to follow! Loved making this adorable baby hat with you! 😊 Thanks for the time and effort in making this.. you have a new follower! Carol
I'm sorry Gabriela there isn't. There is a paid pattern which has sizes all the way up to adult. Let me know if you are interested and I will send a link. Thanks!
Thank you, this was my first hat, as I am still a beginner. It turned out beautiful. I look forward to more from you. You made it very easy to follow. Thank you!

The largest size I have is 3-10 years :(

I have made this hat twice once with a j hook and a k hook and I need a 14" hat and I keep coming up with 12" how do I get it bigger

What size hook are we starting with ?
Awesome Video! Very well explained. It was very easy to follow you! Great job!
Awesome, thank you!
Wow just by the first 5 min I know you will deliver the best tutorial videos
Hi if I want to make this hat slightly bigger can I do another row of increase? Will it work?
Absolutely :) For my usually one additional increase round is about one size bigger.
I tried it and didn’t work.
