Kailua boy here. Robert Beaumont was in my KHS Spanish class. Never knew then that he had such talent. Gone way too soon. I’ve been gone over forty years, and this song always takes me home. He and Jerry were magic. Chicken skin and sometimes a few tears whenever I hear it. ♥️🤙🏝️
My Uncle Jerry Santos, his voice is soothing, passionate, inspiring, loving, awesome, and very inspirational, I'm so proud to be his nephew,he will always be my favorite musician and artist in the world😁😀
each time away from Hawaii, I think of this song and cry a little maybe die a little too. Reminds me that despite how much Hawaii has changed economically, it still my hearts home.
thank you for posting this song. i remember watching robert and gerry singing at the steakhouse in waikiki. yes, they were magic! they were the original olomana!!
Precious Memories in Chaminade days. Roommates from Kauai, Hong Kong, Guam, Maui, Kailua & New York listening to this song on Friday nights. Awesome memories.
You don't need fancy lights, you don't need flashy moves, this is the kind of song that proves not all music isn't about being played in the club or blasted on the radio.
Reminds me of Home at Helms Bay Mokuleia with all our family and friends enjoying yummy foods and listening to beautiful music like this. R.I.P. Daddy. I will always miss you and your magic you cast on the whole North Shore with your pure heart.
🎵People coming And people leaving I'm just hanging on Not knowing why Found the reason for staying, About the beauty in saying This is my, my home Because, here there are rainbows And mid-morning showers. People are laughing Loving their hours The young and the old men back home we are brothers. So I'm staying on. Home I've got to be there. Home I've got to be there. I am staying, I am leaving, I'm just hanging on, Not knowing why. I found the reason for staying, I found the beauty in saying, Oh, this is my, my home Because, here there are rainbows And mid-morning showers. People are laughing Loving their hours. The young and the old men back home we are brothers So I'm staying on Home I've got to be there Home I've got to be there Home I've got to be there Home I've got to be there. Home.🎵🌈🌺🤙
Really miss living at Sunset Beach, working swing shift at Castle Memorial Hospital. Having no Backdoor all to myself early in the be morning. Hearing the Big Surf come in at night, and falling asleep to it, then waking up to it!!! And of course listening to Kalapanna, 1976 - 78. I was voted Miss Hawaiian Tropic 1977!!!!!!!! Aloha Mar
I lived in Hawaii from 1968-'77, and part of those years were in Kahalu'u. I and my sisters helped my dad build a house, there. He was a math teacher. We had some of our best times over there! There was a time when we lived on a boat over there and sailed the islands. Wow! But I feel sad about what happened to the Hawaiians, and so-called 'progress', with the effects it has on indigenous people. My father died in an accident, in '75, so I moved back to the Mainland. I didn't want to keep adding to the commercialization over there in the islands. The Hawaiians were always gracious to us, even though I knew what was going on. They are beautiful people! Aloha!
Waimea Bay baby!!! Lived aboout 1/4 mile away - parents still live there! Grew up in that same house! Swam/surfed at Marijuanas, Aligators, Uppers, Carmens, Leftovers! Learned at Juice Machine (named that ourselves)! Awesome memories from home!!! After I go, I will be burned and spread outside of Marijuanas so I can be there forever like my nephew JJ! Love and Aloha to all!!!
This song. What is expressed is so utterly meaningful. To the deepest core of the heart and intellect. We listen, and feel a rapture, of when one knows the innermost essence of ones own being.

This song. What is expressed is so utterly meaningful. To the deepest core of the heart and intellect.
We listen, and feel a rapture, of when one knows the innermost essence of ones own being.
And it shows how different cultures worship their roots and past, as well. There are parallels.
