Well, the treatment involved me getting the gauze packing changed out every day. But the student health center on-campus was closed on the weekends, so I had to walk at least a mile up the road from my townhouse to an off-campus doctor's office to get the packing changed; because the bus system that went past my townhouse also didn't run on weekends. And when I say walk, I mean more like limp. Well, I'm limping across a crosswalk, and someone in a car is looking to turn left. As I get to the other side of the road, the guy in the car rolls down his window, leans his head out, and yells, "Next time, don't walk, dips***!" before speeding off. Needless to say, since I was still suffering from this malady, and already upset by the fact that I had to walk over a mile to the doctor to get the packing changed (itself a painful procedure), this really got to me. I had to call my mother, who had to calm me down over the phone. But to be honest, it still gets to me to this day. How can people be so vile and cruel that they feel the need to shout at someone obviously limping to hurry up and hurl insults at them? Has our world come to such a point where there is no compassion or empathy left for people who are obviously suffering, simply because it mildly inconveniences us by putting us a few seconds behind schedule?

Story 3: So I can understand where the bf is coming from. My best friend really responds well to gift-giving, so I really have to pay close attention when getting them something. (Luckily this year I got some good ideas from some of our conversations.) It’s hard… trying to find something they’ll like when you know that it means so much to them. I feel the same. Also, how is taking someone out to dinner and the movies and spend time together for their birthday not a gift? I'm more to the boyfriend side. His gift is nice dinner date. Probably the ones that need to book a few months early or expensive one. Birthday is the day we celebrate the day of our birth, it is not a "we must give a gift to the birthday person". Simply celebrate it by doing something special is enough and the boyfriend probably pay a lot to prepare the dinner just for her. Birthday isn't about gifts but the good memories of your special day together with your love ones.

Birthday is the day we celebrate the day of our birth, it is not a "we must give a gift to the birthday person". Simply celebrate it by doing something special is enough and the boyfriend probably pay a lot to prepare the dinner just for her. Birthday isn't about gifts but the good memories of your special day together with your love ones.

My gf and I have different love languages, but I recognize it when she does something in her love language and appreciate it allot. I also love it when she goes out of her way to communicate her appreciation of me in mine even though it's not hers. And I do the same for her.
