I wish they had kept the deleted scene of Shirley and Britta having an argument over each others' lifestyle choices, it would have made the ending where they worked together even more epic.
I think during a podcast with one of the writers, he said there were a lot of things they tried not to let repeat, unless it was intentionally written that way. They had a hard specifically with the dynamic of Britta/Abed and Shirley/Britta. Cause it was always Shirley’s conflicting beliefs with Britta’s modern lifestyle, like in the new apartment timeline episode and moving Annie into the new apartment. They essentially had the same argument more than once and One of the writers asked they try not to put that into the story too many times.

Pierce sabotaging Dean Spreck's plan and saving Greendale is a great way to subvert audience expectations while remaining true to a character's history. They spent an entire season playing him up as the villain, and so you'd think that when it came to earning 100K or giving it to Greendale, he'd take the money and use it on whatever he wanted. But Pierce always liked Greendale, and his issue wasn't with the school, it was with the study group, who resorted to using him as the scapegoat for all of the group's problems. Was some of it well deserved? A lot of it, even? Sure. But he only got that much flak from everyone else because he was never ashamed to hide those things. Even after deciding to leave the study group, he tells him that he's been going to Greendale for 12 years, and that he knows that he has emotional problems that he never really grew out of. He doesn't apologize for it, but he does admit it. And he reminds them that that's why he's there, and that's why they're all there. A lesson the study group actually takes to heart after that.
